Beginning April 1st, the usual over-the-counter meds such as penicillin and the like that are usually purchased in the common farmacias, will require a prescription thru-out Mexico.

I just read about that, seems it is only for anti-biotics.
Here a Rx can be used several times, as they look at it, sell you the meds, then return it t you. Also some farmacias here in NL have a consulta next door, costs 30-40 pesos to get a doctor to write a Rx.

I was going down next week to "interview" my Farmacia guy about it all to see just what antibiotics it included - I guess all of them, from the looks of it.
I can understand the premise but I think the timing is definitily wrong for both sides of the border.
I plan on checking out the shuttle services at the "Horizon City" exit #37 in the near future, and I'll post a report if I find anything interesting. I would like to try some of them out. I just read a report on another forum, and I can see you have to be careful with some of these shuttle services. Some of these shuttle guides can be real sleazebags. If you don't spend enough money, some of these guides might get pissed off, and just leave you in Juarez. Then you have to pay your own way to get back to exit 37. Once you get in their shuttle van, you're sort of at their mercy. Uhmmm. :eek:

Popped over for a meds fill for all the stuff that I may or may not need that I usually just grab a bottle of whenever something ails me.
I wasn't alone in my thinking at the Benvienido on Ave Juarez as there were a few others in line for the same reasons.
The problem with it all was that nobody working the store knew about it or, I should say, were notified about the supposed changes for April 1st. In fact, a couple of them said they heard nothing at all on the news about it.
I saw on the 10 P.M. news last night that Mexico is now going to wait six more months to enforce the "law" of not selling prescription medicine without a prescription. (Who knows?)
Buying medicine without a prescription for years has sure been a help. But, Murphy's Law clearly says that if something works well, something else will come along and mess things up..happens almost every time.
I plan on making a trip to Juarez this year but have some questions. I know its not as dangerous as they say it is on t.v. but how dangerous is it now? Would it be safe to be there at night?? Are there any regular night clubs where I can meet regular girls?? Are the non pro girls easy to meet?? What places are recommended? Are the strip clubs good?? I havent gone through the past post yet but do plan on it. Wanted to get a little head start from you guys. Thanks

I would say your biggest danger is getting robbed by the crooked cops over there. Hide your money as best you can. It's safer if you can monger in the daytime. More dangerous at night.
I plan on going to, and reviewing most all the MP's in Juarez over the next few months. I'll post my reports in this forum. I just hope the crooked cops don't throw me in jail, as I conduct my reviews.

I recently received an old debt that I had given up on and I was looking for something to spend it on. Nothing better than going to Juarez for an evening of fun.
My first stop was the Pink Ladies. I had read about this place on the forums but had not actually made a trip there. Getting to Pink Ladies is easy. Go down Avenida Juarez and then make a right on the street where Eduardo's strip club is. You can't miss Eduardo, it's an orange building with obnoxious bartenders on the outside screaming at you to get in. Keep walking down this street and eventually you will cross the old gymnasium and Casa Colorado. Go past Casa Colorado, then another street, and the street after that make a left and just keep on walking. Eventually you will past an S-Mart and Pink Ladies is not too far off on the right hand side of the street with a big pink neon sign advertising its location.
I walked in at around 7:30 and by then the environment was lively. There were around 15 girls working. I sat down and asked for a coke to cool down from the walk and immediately a girl approached me that wasn't quite my type. I politely asked her to leave me alone while I cooled down and she didn't fuse. While I was drinking I took the time to scout the available talent and none caught my eye. Most of the girls were in the mid twenties and most of them were chubby. I finished my coke and walked out not quite ready to spend money on a woman I didn't like.
My next stop was Eduardo's itself. It has been a while since I have been there but I figured there wouldn't be any harm in checking out the place. Eduardo is a really hit or miss strip club. The beer is VERY cheap, 35 pesos will get you 2 bottles of your choice from several brews. Drinks for the girls are 65 pesos. NEVER pay in dollars in this place, they always take it at 10: 1. Instead just exchange your dollars at any of the dozen or so exchange houses and you'll get a 12. 20+ exchange rate.
Anyways, I walked into Eduardos at around 8:00 p. M and the place was dead. There were about 5 girls working and none of them were very appealing. You can find some really good looking women in here, from time to time, but it happens less often than you think. I stayed there for 20 minutes and got a lap dance from an ok looking girl from Mexico DF. The nice thing about Eduardo's is that while a woman is sitting down with you you can feel her up all you want. If you go to the back seats you can let your fingers wander all over their bodies.
I walked out of Eduardos and decided to hit one of the massage parlors. Luxxor has fallen out of favor with me since all the women in there will try to upsell you for pretty much anything. I made my way to Siluetas knowing that they close at 9:00 p. M but as long as you walk in before 8:30 they will let you stay until 9:30. I took one of the multiple buses that drive down Avenida Vicente Guerrero and got off at Peru. I paid 50 cents for the trip and was at the doorstep of Siluetas by 8:20. The line-up was pretty good and I chose to spend time with a brunette by the name of Jessica. Jessica really has more brains than this place requires and it is obvious that she can hold a conversation. I spent 30 minutes with her chatting up before moving on to the more intimate moments. She gave me an ok massage and then proceeded to give some wonderful oral without asking or trying to upsell. She's a tight little thing and although she has some baby damage she is a great lay in my opinion for the 300 peso fee that Siluetas charges.
I wasn't quite finished for the day and I still was in the mood for visiting a strip club. The choices were one of the clubs in El Paso or hitting one of the nicer clubs in Juarez. I made up my mind for Joker's since it had been a while since I had been there. I took a cab over to the Santa Fe international bridge and crossed the border to pick up my car. Joker is not anywhere withing walking distance and I was expecting to walk out after the public buses had closed down.
It took me about 20 minutes to reach Joker's Club. Getting there is easy by car. Go down Avenida Vicente Guerrero until it joins with Triunfo de la Republica. Keep going down Triunfo and then make a left on De La Raza and just keep going. The street will then turn into Manuel Gomez Morin. Joker is on the right hand side of the street right before the intersection with Antonio Bermudez.
I came in to Joker's at around 10: 30 in the evening. There were about 15 girls when I walked in and I knew that most of the clientele doesn't walk in until after midnight. This strip club has hands down some of the most beautiful women in Ciudad Juarez. No baby damage, thin, athletic and beautiful faces. Drinks here are 50 pesos for beer, 60 for mixed drinks and 100 pesos for the girls. They dance 2 songs each of around 4-6 minutes long and they strip on the 2nd song.
The best thing about Joker is that it is a pretty classy strip club. The bartenders are not on top of you trying to get you to buy more drinks nor are they bringing you the women if they are not requested. I hooked up with a girl named Arali that was gorgeous at around 1:00 am In places like Joker's there are two types of girls, those that stay sober and those that are drunk after midnight. Arali is the second type and by the time that she came down to sit with me she was very playful and accommodating. Quality comes at a price though and if you want private lap dances they're going to set you back 300 pesos for 2 songs. If you want to take out a girl for sex the prices that you may be quoted are way out there. Be prepared to hear quotes in the $200-$300 range. Never agree to pay in dollars and if a girl quotes you 300 offer her 2000 pesos instead. Most of the time they will agree, specially if it is late and the club is about to close. Having a good rapport with the girl before hand also helps and if they're drunk chances are they're going to be 'cachonda'. Horny.
Joker closes at 3:00 a. M when the law requires that no more alcohol be served. I made my move on Arali and asked her out at 2:40 and she asked for $250 with which I replied I only had 1500 pesos on me and no way to withdraw more. She accepted and she was given permission to leave before the club was due to close since she wasn't scheduled to dance on the catwalk again. We went to the Manuera hotel which charges 350 pesos and evening and had an incredible time. She was supposed to stay for 3 hours but by the end of our fornicating we just fell asleep for and had some seconds after we woke up.
Overall, a very enjoyable evening in Ciudad Juarez.

If you're a gringo and are prowling around in the mariscal district looking for ***** at 10:00 in the evening then you're liable to get stopped. I've walked down Avenida Juarez and 16 de Septiembre at 10:00 p.m. in the evening and never had an issue. The common sense rule is don't give the police a reason to stop you, and they won't. Above all don't get drunk and start walking sideways down the street. That is a huge red flag. Just don't make yourself conspicuous and walk towards your destination with purpose.
The strip clubs in Juarez range from cesspools to great. For a quick cheap fix try Eduardo or Cesar. Both are within walking distance of the Santa Fe international bridge. If you're looking for a more quality experience try Joker or Platinum. Quality comes at a price and both are far enough from the bridge that you will have to rely on taxi to get there. These two clubs do have the best looking women in Juarez though. The fare from the bridge to the clubs is usually 100-150 pesos. NEVER take a taxi without first asking the taxi driver how much to take you somewhere. Taxis in Juarez come in two types, government-regulated and private. The private taxis can charge you whatever they want at their discretion, that is why it is extremely important to first ask how much for a trip. You don't want the taxi driver quoting you 300 pesos once you get there.
The non-pro girls are like anywhere else in the world and usually you can find them in the dance halls and bars I particularly like the Ibiza since it is very close and it plays the type of music I like. Usually Mexican girls travel in packs when they go out so it is sometimes hard to single them out to speak with them. Still, there are plenty of places where girls go out to have fun. I once took a girl that I met at the Kentucky Derby to a strip club and we had a lot of fun.
Finally, if you can help it, don't bring your plastic card with you. Most ATMs in Juarez will block you out after one transaction depending on your bank in the United States and for fraud protection. Withdraw your cash state-side and then exchange it to pesos in any of the exchange houses down Avenida Juarez. Never, ever pay with dollars in Juarez, they will always take it 10:1.

This was an excellent report! I really enjoyed the written tour of juarez and your exploits. You do it like I do. Make an adventure out of it hit some places and let the odds work for you. A great story and a great time! I've been quoted $1500 pesos for all night at Joker's too. When you do the math that is "only" $123 dollars at todays exchange rate. Not bad for what I agree are probably the prettiest working girls in Juarez at Joker. Sleek, pretty, and most are nice.
Also with the farmacia reports I was beginning to think the board was dying and you revised it with just one great post! Thanks.
