Rio de Janeiro Reports

Stopped by L'uomo yesterday to check out the talent and found a nice variety of girls. Some who had migrated to Monte Carlo have returned as well as some who had gone overseas. Unlike MC, there were no Gwyneth Paltrow Shallow Hal asses (seriously what is up with that) nor did it look like the Tiger Woods harem at Centaurus. Something for everyone.

As things go here, sign was on door that Help would close on the 6th, but that
was for the sell of furniture, so it actually closed on the 5th, myself, and a
lot of other guys missed it. Girls are walking the beach already, I think this
will be worst than help, girls are all over the place now, prices have to go
down. I was at Balcony last night, crazy busy.

I was there on what should have been a busy night, it wasn't it just LOOKED busy. I have never seen so many unattractive girls in one place in my life. There were a lot of gringos (not from the US) sitting around nursing one beer. Everyone knows that the girls rarely buy anything more than a juice. I went inside and there was no on inside only on the front of the outside. If I owned Balcony, I would be very concerned. Contrast that with Deck pizza for example which was filled with Brazilians ordering dinner and drinks.

Anyone who thinks that GDPs and gringos are a good business just doesn't get it. Just because there appears to be a lot of people someplace does not mean they are spending money or the right kind of money. You can only raise prices so much -- R$5 chopp and R$11 caipirinha -- because people will just have one instead of two or three. BTW, my girl's chopp was warm and my caipirinha tasted watered down.

Went by TA and Help today. They were bringing a huge load of ice into TA around 12:30 PM and it was open for business inside and out.

Help - R$40 before Midnight and $50 after. It looked pretty cleaned out but what do you really need for a boy meets girl place? Just enclosed space so you can charge admission, a bar and a sound system. All the rest is just for show.

Hey guys we are closer and closer, but Help is still alive and working ?!

Any idea when exactly will be the last night that I try to be there :D

The rumor now is that Help stays open and may continue to do so for quite some time due to a paperwork error on the part of the state's lwayers.

Last night the club was filled to the brim, the music was great and the women were many and pretty.

It is for sure staying open tonight (Thursday). Monday, supposedly, the place is going to be knocked down.

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone who bought anything at the Help auction actually picked it up today, as was part of the contract. As of 4AM this morning, news was that it would be business as usual. Seeing as how the auction sold the bar, the lights, the sound system and the refirgerators, I'd say that if they open, they are giving the big birdie to their auction contract, which is a good indication that they don't feel they'll close anytime soon.

So waiting next week to know something more....

However for one fact for sure I am happy it will be closed, for all the bastards taxi cars that tried to overcharge every single turist with no using taximeter at all. I guess now they will have to work the way the other taxisalways did ....

Turns out ther rumor on Wednesday night was just to try to pack people in for one more night's profit.

The marquee is now down, the tents have been removed from the terraço, people are showing up to take away their auction purchases.

Mongers-
I went to Help last night and it was officially the last night that it will ever be open. The DJ made several announcements that it was the last night and I asked about a dozen different employees and they all confirmed it, that last night was the last hurrah. And what a last hurrah it was; Help was packed with probably 2:1 female/male ratio with a higher quality of talent than I have seen in there in a long, long time. There were a few tables of older, very well dressed people who were not there for the mongering game, perhaps they heard it was the last night and went for the farewell party. I also noticed that Help raised their prices for entrance and drinks in an effort to grab as much cash as possible before it's all over. The customers and the girls were partying like it was the last night and when I left at 4:30 the place was still jam packed and looked like it was going to stay that way until they kicked everybody out. A truly proper farewell party for what has to be one of the world's great houses of iniquity.
I pulled a hot little garota who is a former Centaurus employee. Thin, very beautiful about 22 years old, probably the best in Help last night depending upon your taste. Back at the room, she gave a kick ass stay all night full bareback performance.

Posts at another board report the Terraca Atlantica tent and plants in front of Help have been removed. It looks like an empty lot. Help's front facade is also removed.

Looks like last night was Help's last, Lukasek. When you arrive, the building will be torn down. :(

A bit sad to listen this, but however what it is done, it is done, so now the next question will be....well two questions please:

A ) Where will go today, tomorrow and in the first week all the GdP that used to work at Help ? The staff too, they already found a place ? Where will be the next pick up bar-disco in Rio ? Any chance that in disco like Baronette or club 00 we will find some hookers so far as they have no more help to go ?

B ) Where you all mongers right now in holiday in Rio will spend the night ? All at Balcony Bar ? I do not think so, so the options are where ? Even considering normal disco with no hookers at all, just to not stay outside, but inside one place where to drink a beer with friends and watch nice girls.

Nobody is going to miss Help more than me, I think in the short term everybody will be all over the place looking to settle in on one particular place, maybe they'll find some other club to take over eventually.

I do keep hearing the same rumor over and over from different sources and it has been posted here a couple of times and that is that the club in the basement of the old Meridien hotel is currently being remodeled for a late March opening, lets hope this is true.

What I also heard is that management is currently trying to get a permit now to have some type of outside venue also like TA is today to Help. Apparently this combination of outside/inside makes a lot of money for them.

It is true guys the place is closed I went by today the Terraco outdoor covered area is gone and there are workers tearing apart the inside of both buildings.

I have mixed emotion like most of you I think back to what it used to be with fond memories even though I have not been a fan of it for a few years now.

Last night Balcony Bar was packed though with some good talent.

It is very weird almost erie walking by help/Terraco.
