There's no upside once you're standing with the police. You're not doing what you wanted to do, and arguing with an angry working girl, while the cops figure out how much is in it for them, is a poor substitute for sex.

Why go thru all this? Just pay her the extra 100 k and be done. By outing her in social media like this site, I think you are getting back at her. Why go to court and take a risk for the equivalent of 32 dollars? Remember you are a gringo most likely traveling on your own. They know why you are in Medellin so why go through all this?

You would end up paying an attorney at least three times that amount just for them to tell you that your wasting time, and that would be an honest attorney. And the majority of the attorneys in Colombia are a joke. The only requirement for being an attorney is having a law degree. No legal exams or passing a bar required.

As a foreigner, as other's have posted, your not in a good position in a dispute. It's all elementary, and you have to realize that this is not a litigious Country like in the USA. Issues with Chicas are going to come up, it goes with the territory, so you should just be smart and know when to cut your losses.

I had to pay the police on my first trip there. I paid like 100 USD not to get taken to the station. I didn't do anything wrong but the police didn't care they just seemed to wanted money. But in all my other trips the trick is use a normal taxi (normal cars or hotel taxi) don't use the yellow taxis they get stopped more often.

And I have never paid the bribe, the extortion fee, or no extra shit that was asked of me by the girl or the police to make anything just go away. Like I said, just scare tactics. And I am talking the world over, not just Medellin.

I have never had a problem in Medellin and I only deal with SW, strip clubs, casas, and FL there. The only places the police thing has been tried on me by chicks are Rio, Sosua, Pattaya, and Abuja. And out of those times the only time the police has actually been called was in Sosua. And they came and sent the girl packing. So out of over 1000 attempts worldwide, only 4 times have a chick tried the police shit. Most probably have an idea of who they can get away with what with, just like any other hustling scheme.

Also, many of them don't even let you send a friend request or are maxed out. Am I missing something here?
