I am really disappointed by reading that the famous "Budapest"scam has found its way to Prague, which I have always thought was better than that. But I remember being approached numerous times by young pretty girls (always working in pairs) in Vaci Utca, main street in Budapest. The scam was so well known that I believe it was even a warning on the American embassy webpages in Hungary! Anyway I read that there is a valid option for you, if you really find yourself trapped and can't get out without paying in a club/bar/restaurant. The trick, is that you should not risk your health, but only pay with credit card. Next it is important that you file a complaint at the local police station. Then with the receipt you get from the police, you forward this to your credit card company claiming not to be charged for the due amount because it's a criminal offense. It's up to the credit card company to pursue the case in order to get their money back! I am not sure if this works in reality, but I don't see why it shouldn't!

Of course the best option is not to go along with these girls. If things look too good to be true. They often are.

So my experience has been if you pay for dances in advance, you will get scammed.

In Prague, you pay in advance.

I can't remember being directly scammed in Prague, at least the dancer has always ended up fully nude. Some give less contact than others ("air dance"), so you should make sure you ask for a "lap dance" and not just a "private dance". (Although usually a "private dance" is also a lap dance.)

Most girls offer touching for 500 CZK extra. Without touching, the standard rate in most clubs is 1000 CZK.

Rates are higher in Darlings and Sexy Go-Go (now renamed Barbie Nightclub). Not sure about Atlas. Those clubs are actually brothels with strip shows, where some girls dance on stage and do lapdances, while most girls are working the floor and selling sex. They're not the best places for lapdances.

For lapdances, it's better going to pure strip clubs like Goldfingers, Hot Peppers and Carioca. There they use "standard" prices (at least when I was there), and there's a better selection of attractive dancers. Hot Peppers even had free entry, and you got a free beer for each lapdance.
