Theoretically thats easy if you follow some basic rules:

1. Keep a separate email I'd for mongering sites like this or aff. Never create any account in fb or other social network sites. This email should be a standalone account representing only the dirty side of you.

2. If possible keep a separate phone and don't register this phone with any social networking sites.

3. If not possible to keep a separate phone for hobby, use your regular phone but keep your regular phone num from social network sites.

4. Don't give too much information.

5. Never give your work details out.

Despite of all these I find it difficult to keep hobby and life totally separate. After all hobby is part of life.

After living in many oases, I have been hibernating in Chennai for some time now. Since, even to cultivate dependable SP contacts seem to be a non starter. The trouble starts when you want to, or rather need to, subscribe to FB, google+ etc. And the need arises when a potential FL lead in CL, loc shares her pic through these sites and does not want to mail the pic as an attachment.

It is not often that one sees well written reports here (on the India threads especially) so it was refreshing to see yours.
