I feel exactly the same way an am thinking of springing for the service, which (BTW) is now 1200 BHT these days.

The thing is, I will have checked luggage which I have to pick up anyway. Last time I was there I still had to wait for my bags on the conveyor belt after clearing passport control. So I am not sure its really worth it unless the line is huge or you are traveling only with carry on luggage.

Can't wait till wheels down! Only 13 days to go!

You are exactly correct, sometimes it is a waste if there is no line. But I still enjoy getting whisked through but you do still have to wait if your bag is slow coming up the luggage conveyor. I often fly Cathay through Hong Kong, and if you become a Cathay Evergreen member (I think that's the name of it), I think it costs something like $100/ yr, they will expedite your bags and treat them as priority so they come up first even if you are flying economy.

Two trips ago, there was a massive line, and I was glad to avoid it. Last trip there was no line at all.

Head from Soi 4 of Sukhumvit towards Soi 2. 2nd pharmacy (big Chinese run shop) after petrol station is the one. Best Pharmacy for all medications and honest (no fake products). Always ask what cheaper generics they have. They will have Cialis if you want it, but much more expensive.

The only exception being probably Patpong in the upstairs establishments, at least according to the touts outside. But the only in-the-flesh action you are likely to see will be from the big muscled bouncers when they present you with your bar-tab.

Here is how I do Thailand, you may take my advice or leave it. Free advice is worth what you pay, but I have also found that truly good advice comes from unexpected places at unexpected times:
