Correct on both counts! In addition, a residual hangover, and post-PI depression. But back to work tomorrow....
And you could have sent a pm rather than going public. :-)

First time to the LA Cafe for me because I heard on the weekends, you can meet real students looking for extra cash. On Saturday, this place was fairly crowded even at noon! Walked around the bar and pool table area, but only found one table with free girls. A few had some lookers, but already occupied. Anyway, met a 23 year old who is/was a nursing student. She seemed fairly keen on going out, but something just didn't click for me.
Went out to check out Amazonia, but found only a few girls there. At that point, a runner catches up to me and takes me on a 5 minute walk to a few parallel streets in the area. After 3 tiny "clubs", found a place that had 20 girls in the line-up, one that looked like Angelina Jolie! Wow, this has been a recurring fantasy of mine so went for it. The downside of this was that she knew she was hot, so pretty quiet and not engaging personality. Second, the mamasan insisted I pay up front (1500P) at the bar, and that covered everything including tip?!?! Whatever. Then the runner asked for a tip too (gave him 100P).
We went to the local Sogo, but had over an hour wait!! WTF. We decided to go back to my hotel room instead and had a good time. Overall, she was a cool fish but what a LOOK! She then insisted on a tip, so paid an additional 1500P. I think I was scammed, but not sure as this was a first experience for me. I had a memorable time plus some pictures to last me into my old age. Any thoughts on the pricing? My initial thought was not to follow a runner, but oh well.

Thanks for the report Manfest!
Sounds like you paid a BF so she was looking for her usual tip. You should have offered her 500 first as a tip and modeling fee. You probably paid at least 1000 too much. But if you shot a good amount of pics, that is worth something. Maybe you can post a few in the Photo Gallery!
Generally, in that area, 1500 should be all inclusive. Tipping should be based on performance and not looks. The important thing is that you had a good time. Yes you are right never follow a runner, especially in that area because you could have been set-up!

I might not have taken a woman who was so cold to me in the bar, but there are times that they will surprise you and be amazing outside the bar with you and vise versa. Did you ask how long that was supposed to be for or did you specify short time? I would have thought the 1500 was for the whole night. The mamasan told you it was inclusive, and for short time I would never have tipped an additional 1500 for a cold fish, just my opinion. When she insisted on a tip, did she specifically say 1500? It's hard to tell if you got scammed or you were a little gullible. Your tout probably got 500 pesos out of the deal from the bar, but I don't think it hurt to give him 100 pesos on top since he probably made the moment possible where you probably would never have gone in on your own. The 1500 pesos is probably as low as it gets, most touts will try to get another 500-1000 more, so that was pretty good price and just to find something doable was even more so.

Thanks for the comments. I was thinking that EDSA complex BF are about 1000-1500P, and tipping is 1500-2500P, so maybe this area was like that?! Again, I suspected it was not, but knew only the other area numbers. Also, she actually insisted it was 1500P, so didn't want to bust the mood.
Overall, not a good lay, but she did this thing at the end when I was climaxing where she started to gyrate and clench her pussy muscles hard. It made up for the lack of fake moaning/screaming. In the end, she stayed about 5 hours and had 2 rounds, so I let it go as an experience, whether I was partially scammed or not. Did I mention the Angelina Jolie-thing, very good for my ego and fantasy role playing. :)

My last night in MNL, friends took me to the EDSA complex, but got there by 2 AM. By that hour, most of the lookers were apparently gone. Still plenty of choices, just the real stunning ones that I've heard about were missing. Some of my friends pulled from the crowd and left, but the rest of us went across the street to the heritage/casino and played until dawn. Few lessons to be learned: 1) I was very excited to experience the EDSA complex, but should not leave it to the last day after about 5 shots in 3 days, just lose the motivation; 2) go much earlier than 2 AM, probably around 8-10PM; 3) don't leave yourself the option to gamble otherwise you'll be sitting back at home thinking why the FU_K didn't you pull from the line-up.

manila taxis....
Manfest,
3k for Angelina Jolie is ok :)
Went with a cab these days, told the cab driver to make a U turn to get back to Edsa. Cabdriver told me he cant do this, cause he has allmost run out of gas, he can only go straight. I thought WTF, get out and got into another cab.
Manila, the only city in the world, where cabdrivers make decession for you :D

Las year had one acutally run out of gas taking me to the airport. Now, if I remember, I check their fuel tanks.

Manila Cabs
The metered ones at the airport are cool. I asked for a metered one leaving the Hyatt. After a few miles on Roxas I noticed the meter was missing.
Guy wanted to charge me 800 pesos from Hyatt to NIAA. WTF. I paid like 200 to go from NIAA to Hyatt days earlier with metered cab.
I showed driver my wallet. with only 300pesos in it. he took it.
Stupid guy didn't realize I had to have at least 750 more to pay the airport tax.
LOL

no-meter

many of the cabs working out of the hotels are "curtousy cars" and use this to avoid regulation and hence the lack of a meter. I always avoid the cabs that service the major hotels for that reason and stick to the ones plying the streets.

you can check the speedometer too, but usually it reads 0 -- not working. but what really pisses me off are the taxis where you can't get the door open from the inside. they guy says, "wait a while", and then he runs around to open the door for you. damn, what if there was an accident and the car was on fire. i'd like to know if the door can't be opened from the inside!

Manila Cabs
When you check out of the hotel, the doorman says do you want a taxi? If you say yes he calls a cab which does not use meter and will charge you an arm and a leg.
It happened to me. I had my GF with me. When the taxi pulled up I asked him to turn the meter on. He refused saying there is a flat charge of 600 pesos to NAIA. I told him to stop the Taxi and I was going to take another taxi. Then he asked me how much i want to pay. The meter charge is usually 150 oesos. I told him I will give only 200. He agreed.
So my advice is ask the doorman to call a meter cab or go down and get one from the street.

I usually just go down to the street. They'll still try to fk with you when you have a suitcase so ask for the meter before you put the suitcase in the car. (do we still call them suitcases??? that's about as outdated as sailing on the Titanic....)
If one taxi refuses, say thanks anyway and shut the door, the taxi just behind will know what you did. Taxi two will either turn on the meter or offer an fair price. Give him a good tip if he doesn't blast his horn the whole way, nor runs over any women or children.
At the hotel, you can walk to the street, or ask for a meter cab. Anyway, I like the exercise. In my student days, I actually walked from the airport all the way to Ermita. I still hike 3 to 6 hours every once in a while, but don't recommend it for Manila.

Taxi!
Might go a bit against the grain but I do feel a bit sorry for Manila taxi drivers. They are only trying to earn a crust but the constant hikes in fuel prices is making life really tough for them and there has been no concomitant rise in meter rates to compensate. So these poor bastards have to work longer and longer hours to make any money at all. And they look it. Every taxi I've been in recently has been driven by an miserable, bleary eyed zombie mumbling 'traffic, traffic' like a mantra. Not like the cheerful, garrulous rascals of even a couple of years ago. Took a cab from Taguig to Paranaque other day. Agreed a fare of P250 and told him to go C5 and expressway thinking we would be there in 30 mins tops. What a laugh. 1 hour later we were still crawling along the so called expressway (what a joke that name is, and what is more they charge you for the privilege of crawling along at 5 mph!) and didn't reach base for another 30 minutes. The driver cannot have made more than P50 for 11/2 hours work. Needless to say I gave the poor twat a good tip.
Its a buyers market too (except when its pissing down), like when I found myself in Malate the other night with such a plethora of cabs vying for my business, I was able to pick and choose the newest cab so that I was guaranteed cool air and I wouldn't be sat on bare springs.
Think what you would be paying in New York or London, guys and don't be too hard on the poor sods. I can think of few places where they are cheaper (could also be referring to something else there - like cabs a 4 letter word beginning with C) :D GH.

actually at the airport the hyatt offered to arrange transportation for 800 pesos. I refusd and took a yellow metered cab for about 200. Earlier in the trip Shangri la wanted 2500. WTF took yellow cab for about 350.
I specifically asked the hyatt for a metered cab. With everything at the hyatt being top notch during my stay, I trusted them on this point. Guess that was my mistake.
