Where did you get this "social security" payment concept from. I've never heard of it.

Most girls work as "subcontractors" rather than "employees", so out of the $300 the client pays the girl walks out with $150 in hand. They will have a tax liabilty of around 30-50% depending on their reseidential status and other factors, so she would end up with at least $75 for her hour's work.

But few girls are available at $300/hr, many would be working at <$200, but even if the girl ended up with $50/hr, this is a good wage here.

But the girls working in CMPs probably don't do so well. Customer pays the shop only $60/hr, so girl is dependent on selling you the HJ for an extra $20. Some shops are as cheap as $45/hour with HJ included but the girls are older MINLFs

A SW charging $200/hr probably pockets the lot, because they avoid the tax net, but probably blows it all on drugs.

You're mostly right, however if you compare prices and quality with Sydney you can see things are seriously out of whack in Melbourne. Compare cracker Sydney vs Melbourne for an example. Syd has 12% more population but several times as many pages of ads.

This is because of the idiotic laws we have in Victoria which make it difficult for WLs to offer incalls and other laws like that.

If someone is on the dole, the threshold for losing money when they earn anything is quite low. So if they work they lose dole money at a high rate.

Avoiding tax, or not telling centrelink if you are working is not that easy. They have spies everywhere and catch a lot of people. Obviously some get away with it, but they can get in and look at all sorts of stuff to check up.

Accordingly a deal was done with the legal industry whereby there is a flat 15% tax deduction from payments made to the girls. Quite a few places ask you to pay the brothel's share then pay the girls separately in cash. Apart from anything else this reduces the amount of GST as the girls will (in theory anyway) be responsible for paying their own GST once their income exceeds $50, 000 per year.

If a SW wants to advertise she needs a PCA number and this will force her to own up to at least some of her income. Some private SW's I have visited that are obviously doing a good business tell me that they have an accountant and do most of the correct things tax wise. There are others that have an extensive private client list and don't advertise. They just slip under the radar.

In any event the suggestion that the SW only gets $45 out of each $300 paid by punters does not reflect reality.
