5,000 Mex National Guardsman being brought to Tijuana to help in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully this brigade will come from a location where its cartel is not fighting for Tijuana. Expect an increase in military presence in the Zona Norte in the near future.

Have not verified with Amlo himself, but 5,000 troops is a major military development for Tijuana, not sure if Mexico is aiming to block migrants, fight drug cartels or prevent invasion from the US? It may be tempting to take over Baja California and turn all beach front properties into time-share condos, but it may not be worth the huge expenses, headache and high risks of governing a territory with poor resources (besides beach front condos), poverty, horrific crimes, unmotivated population ect Rest assure the world wants to rent BC and her hot young girls, not own them.
I may be wrong but there have been no shooting with automatic weapons in Tijuana last couple years, no overt battles against local policias, so I don't understand the needs to deploy 5,000 troops here, but for sure the government would not be so stupid to deploy 5,000 troops somewhere without intelligence on enemy forces, not anticipating or planning for major fire fights, no detailed battle plans ect. Any city in Mexico that had military deployments soon had fierce battles on the streets and escalated violence.
Remember how Mexican Marines tracked down and arrested Ovidio de Guzman in Cualican? Immediately Sinaloa cartel mobilized superior force, massive troops with heavy machine guns, blocked all streets, burned cars and buses, shooting up every one, eventually Amlo himself had to order the Mexican Marines to release their capture.

Why Mexico does not send troops to raid, bust and shut down the many Meth and Fentanyl factories further away from dense population areas and eradicate the roots of the drug cartels?
Why are they not doing more undercover investigations, stings and financial busts to destroy the profit incentives of drugs mfg and trafficking?
Don't know their targets in Tijuana, may just be theatricals to milk more money out of our humane government. Hope the battles will be far from the bar block so people can have a little fun. Get ready to hug the ground and burry your faces in bar girls' crotches for safety when the shooting start. Monitor the situation and advise us of any major risks.

It is expensive as hell, and impossible to maintain information security. But it looks good to the public and shows that your elected officials are tough on crime. (And deserve to be re-elected). The last time officials were really waging war on the cartel, the Marines were used, not the NG. Let's face it, I would not be surprise that a lot of these NG guys are driving a uber for their day jobs.
On the other hand, I noticed that some of the chicas were getting their pussies wet when they saw those NG guys on foot patrol in their handsome uniforms. In 1988 the bodyguard of Tijuana's ex mayor, Jorge Hank Rhon, assassinated a Tijuana journalist. A raid of the ex mayor facilities found dozens automatic weapons.
AFAIK nobody has been convicted or penalized for this and many similar murders.

Trooper prostitution sting nets 22 men in Alaska's two largest cities.

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Multiple prostitution patron stings were conducted earlier this month in Fairbanks and Anchorage resulting in charges against 22 men who attempted to solicit sex.
The stings were conducted by the Special Crimes Investigation Unit of the Alaska State Troopers. A dispatch says Troopers posed as women soliciting sex for money during the operation and contacted the men when they arrived at various locations in each community.
All of the men were charged with the Class be Misdemeanor of Prostitution.
Troopers say additional operations are planned in the future.
