This is my breaking all the rules trip because well, I broke all the rules. This trip was primarily to get some dental work done as I am in bad need of a crown and it turns out I had 7 cavaties ito fill or refill and adition to the tooth that was worn down to the nerve. I started out in Orlando and flew Delta to salt lake city to catch the last flight to san diego that had 20 open seats when I left orlando. When I got to Salt Lake City the flight was oversold by 30 and I was not able to get on and had to sleep in the airport from 8pm central till about 630am central when I was able to catch a flight on southwest to Las Vegas and then connect to San Diego.

When I arrived in San Diego I booked a room at the Days Inn on E st. In Chula Vista for 54 bucks after tax. I could of gotten the motel 6 for 36 plus tax but I would of had to pay 3 bucks for internet and motel 6 doesn't have a hot tub. Took the 922 to the trolley and got off on E st. Was able to check in at 10 am which was nice. Chilled out in the hot tub for a bit soaking my back and neck from sleeping on the SLC airport floor and then showered and shaved and put on my mongering T-shirt. It reads "Roses are red, Violets are blue, Get down on your knees and blow me you *****" LOL and I headed back to the trolley for my 3rd trip to Tijuana.

Arriving in San Ysidro I walk across the bridge and crossed into Mexico around 12:45 and this is where I broke rule #1. I went to the first dentists office I found and asked for a price quote. I should of went to a few more dentists and compared prices but I was so tired I didn't care what the price was I was going to get this damn tooth fixed that had been bugging me for 8 months.

$220 was the price quote I got but that was only if I don't need a root canal. Unfortunately I did need a root canal and the price jumped to 440 bucks. Luckily I have Dental Insurance that paid about 25% of the cost so 338 was my share and I only had to pay half of the price today so 169 I'm already out and I haven't even gotten my dick sucked yet. However my dentist Marisol was an absolute hottie, hotter than some of the chicks at Adelitas. I spent almost 4 hours in that dentists chair and they only did half the work but I didn't mind because I kept looking up at Marisols beautiful face. She noticed that I had 2 different color eyes and brought it up to everyone else in the office and I kinda became a celebrity in the dentists office LOL every so often a dentist would come by my chair and look at my eyes. I walked across the courtyard around the corner from the dentists office on Amistad and was looking at pharmacies to get my prescription filled and this is where I broke rule #2 I walked across the Tijuana Bridge into downtown Tijuana. I walked down the hill at El Arco on La Revo and walked to Adelitas.

I figured it was broad daylight and I puffed up as big as a puffer fish to try and deter anyone thinking of trying anything nefarious. I walked to La Revo and El Arco and walked down the hill on la revo instead of constiutcion. I only recognized 1 chica at AB an older chica REALLY old but hot bolt ons. She was the first girl to ever approach me in AB and I turned her down and didn't see her until my second trip. I bought a botle de auga and sat back in hottie central which was virtually deserted at 530pm. The exchange rate keeps getting worse and worse I wish it would go back up to like 15 but it's a little under 13 now and getting lower and lower every day.

I hit the line and the border patrol guy didn't even look at my passport and told me to go through. I rode the trolly back to my hotel and hit the hot tub when all of a sudden a REALLY fucking hot blonde hit the hot tub too with a real ugly guy. She was drop dead fucking gorgeous. I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I believe she was german from the language she was speaking to her ugly ass boyfriend who had a tatoo of her on picture on his leg. I walked back across the border and the border patrol were checking documents at the gate and they had the cheese cutter gate closed. When I went through the line the border patrol guy got a big kick out of my mongering shirt. He said not to let anyone do what was on my shirt until I got back to my place LOL. He didn't wanna see me getting blown at the trolly station either. We both had a big laugh and he sent me through not even swiping my passport. A pretty cool guy who seemed to know the score and was cool with it.

I hopped on the trolly again back to my hotel to shower up and get ready for my ride home. I spoke to a wonderful couple from chicago who were visiting family in San Diego and Tijuana on the trolley and the woman of the couple gave me some litterature about god. I took it. Never reading it but didn't want to be rude as they were nice to talk to. Got myself a pizza for 5.75 at the America Station and rode the 992 back to the Airport. I unfortunately did not make it onto the southwest Houston flight which would of gotten me back to Orlando at 11:55pm so I am now booked on the 4:20 (LOL I know 4:20) flight to Las Vegas where I will fly to Milwaukee at 11pm so I'll have 5 hours in vegas to gamble a little on the video poker machines. I get to Milwaukee at 455 in the morning and then I can fly to Orlando after a 2 hour sit in Milwaukee. Luckily I have a lounge available to me in Milwaukee so I can relax for an hour and take a nap on the couches in there.

In closing. I spent about 30 hours in SD/Tijuana and got laid twice for about 650 pesos in American Dollars thats about 50.50 plus 6 USD at 1 hotel and 60 pesos at another hotel which is about 4.50 USD for a grand total of 10.50 for hotels in Tijuana. I overpaid a little to Donna but I like to tip the english speakers a little more for the conversation opportunities. I got my tooth a temporary crown and will have to come back next week to get the remainder of the work done. I still have about 400 pesos left that I can use for next week. I may decide to walk to the zona from now on if it's during the daytime. I didn't feel threatened at all and was lucky to not have encountered any trouble on my trip.

Let me point out that rule #2 really only applies at night. I've walked the route from the border to the arch many, many times during the day. It's a pleasant walk, except for the smelly river. At night, well, maybe another story.

Great report. I had some dental work recently done here in Mexico similar to yours(filling removed and replaced with porcelain) and later ran into some complications. It really did not have anything to do with the proficiency of the Mexican dentist but the procedure itself, which I later found out is not recommended. Needless to say, I wish I knew now what I didn't know then. If you would like, you can PM me and I will tell you what I know and what you need to be aware of.

My costs where as follows.

Removal of almagen filling and replaced with porcelain - $500 pesos
New cavity filled with porcelain - $500 pesos
Laser teeth whitening - $750 pesos
Teeth cleaning - $250 pesos


Factoring in the exchange rate, I believe that I saved around US $300.00.
for comparable services offered stateside. Or, at today's exchange rate, around $3800 pesos.

Mexico decriminalizes small-scale drug possession

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexico decriminalized small amounts of marijuana, cocaine and heroin on Friday—a move that prosecutors say makes sense even in the midst of the government's grueling battle against drug traffickers.
Prosecutors said the new law sets clear limits that keep Mexico's corruption-prone police from extorting casual users and offers addicts free treatment to keep growing domestic drug use in check.

"This is not legalization, this is regulating the issue and giving citizens greater legal certainty," said Bernardo Espino del Castillo of the attorney general's office.

The new law sets out maximum "personal use" amounts for drugs, also including LSD and methamphetamine. People detained with those quantities no longer face criminal prosecution.

Espino del Castillo says, in practice, small users almost never did face charges anyway. Under the previous law, the possession of any amount of drugs was punishable by stiff jail sentences, but there was leeway for addicts caught with smaller amounts.

"We couldn't charge somebody who was in possession of a dose of a drug, there was no way ... because the person would claim they were an addict," he said.

Despite the provisions, police sometimes hauled in suspects and demanded bribes, threatening long jail sentences if people did not pay.

"The bad thing was that it was left up to the discretion of the detective, and it could open the door to corruption or extortion," Espino del Castillo said.

Anyone caught with drug amounts under the new personal-use limit will be encouraged to seek treatment, and for those caught a third time treatment is mandatory.

The maximum amount of marijuana for "personal use" under the new law is 5 grams—the equivalent of about four joints. The limit is a half gram for cocaine, the equivalent of about 4 "lines." For other drugs, the limits are 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams for methamphetamine and 0.015 milligrams for LSD.

Mexico has emphasized the need to differentiate drug addicts and casual users from the violent traffickers whose turf battles have contributed to the deaths of more than 11,000 people since President Felipe Calderon took office in late 2006.

But one expert saw potential for conflict under the new law.

Javier Oliva, a political scientist at Mexico's National Autonomous University, said the new law posed "a serious contradiction" for the Calderon administration.

"If they decriminalize drugs it could lead the army, which has been given the task of combating this, to say 'What are we doing'?" he said.

Officials said the legal changes could help the government focus more on big-time traffickers.

Espino del Castillo said since Calderon took office, there have been over 15,000 police searches related to small-scale drug dealing or possession, with 95,000 people detained—but only 12 to 15 percent of whom were ever charged with anything.
