Cartagena Reports

I have rented a boat/captain and crew several times for day trips to the Rosario Islands. Usually there were 3/4 guys and at least that many chicas, always for a party, 1 time for fishing but that lasted only an hour before we did more exciting things. It is not cheap, cost upwards of $1000 and then the extras. I also "rentad" a camp on Baru with Captain, boat, cook, etc and had 6 ho's for 3 gringos. That was probably the best trip, strip and bj contests, more lobster and grouper than we could eat, day trips for snorkeling (scuba and island hopping was available), and plenty of pussy. The girls were from a local casa and came with the knowledge that their pussy was available to all 3 guys, no real problems. That cost a few dollars but was worth it imho. We had the girls for the night before leaving, each had 2 girls, then switched off the next day at the camp and again later. Expensive but worth every peso imho, probably $2700 for everything. Laying on Hollywood Beach is a whole lot cheaper but that trip was a hell of a party. I may do it again soon, hope that we can work it out. You need chicas without an attitude and same for the guys. I got pics, need to find them.

A report on my lack of success trolling around Cartagena:

First, to tell new folks in town that it's completely dead Sunday through Wednesday. Most clubs and bars are closed, and those that are open are completely empty.

Thursday at midnight and Friday at 2 am I checked out several of the places listed here.

Isis. It's awfully dark, so it's hard to really see the girls. Although there is a stripper pole, it's not used. It's really just a bar to meet girls where you know you'll be able to sleep with them if you want (by paying dearly). Also, many of the girls are not dressed to kill. A lot of them wear jeans. I would say they average in looks around a 7. Another thing I didn't like is that a simple rum and coke was $15, 000! Does that seem right?

Queens. Don't know why, but it was completely empty both times I wandered in (to be fair, the first time was a Tuesday night. But the other time was 2am on Friday, when it should have been hopping). Too bad, I'd read great things about this place. Maybe I'll try again. Again, it's just a bar (with a dancefloor).

Tu Candela. A fun bar, but I didn't see any real stunners.

Elektra. Empty. I only checked this place once, at 2 am on Friday night. Maybe it wasn't late enough yet? _______________

On Wednesday night I was dining alone at a restaurant. As occassionally happens, the waiter befriended me. Later in the conversation, he says he has some girl friends he'd like to introduce me to. In the back of my head I'm thinking, "is this a scam? " but I say sure, call them over. On the chance that it's actually some friendly locals. Half an hour later, two old skanky *****s show up. Friends of his, sure. After 10 minutes of polite conversation, I excuse myself.

On Friday night I run into this same waiter at a bar, he is there with his girlfriend, both having just gotten off work. They buy me drinks, she seems very genuine, we're having a great time. Friends of theirs wander by and get introduced to me. Near closing time, an 18-year old friend of theirs ends up sitting with us. She's not that attractive, but worth a shot, I figure. We all jump in a cab to a beach somewhere, but the girl is whining that she's cold. So then we go to a fancy club, but she doesn't like that either. Finally I say, "would you like to just come back to my hotel? " (of course my cheap hotel doesn't allow guests, so I'm thinking Jaiba. But the cabbies haven't heard of it! ) So we end up downtown and find a free hotel eventually. This is all going really well, I'm thinking. We get in the room, start undressing, and then she drops the bomb. Sure enough, she's a hooker. Maybe I'm really gullible, but I really did think she was just a friend of theirs. Weird how they set me up like that without tipping me off. OK, I think, I'll pay at this point. But she's asking for $120k. And by this point it's 6am, so I'm sure we'll only get an hour in before she takes off. Plus she wouldn't do BBBJ, and had a stank attitude. So I'm trying to work her price down when she starts dressing. Fine, I think, it's better not to waste the money. Weird though that she didn't want to negotiate. Then she won't let me leave the room without at least cab fare. So I finally toss her a $20k and stumble out into the morning sunshine with a terrible case of blue balls, LOL.

Now I don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but it's beginning to seem like Cartagena is not a great town for mongering. Don't get me wrong, I love the city. Stunning architecture, great live music, friendly people. But I saw much hotter Colombian girls in Panama!

I also haven't tried all the clubs mentioned. Like La Dolce Vida or Pleyclub. Is Pleyclub an actual strip club, where you can view the merchandise before purchasing, as it were?

This is what happened. I was drinking at Tripaterra (sp) one night with a bunch of chicas. Emily was one of the chicas with me. She told me that she would see the next night there.

When I went back the next night, one of the chicas from the previous night told me that Emily has been arrested by the police that day. The chica told me that one of the gang at Hollywood beach had stolen a camera from a gringo tourist and had put the camera in Emily's bag. The tourist had gone to the police. The police had searched Hollywood Beach and found the stolen camera in Emily's bag and had arrested her.

The chica never said that Emily had stolen the camera. She said someone else had planted the camera in Emily's bag.

What really happened? Did Emily steal the camera or did someone else? I do not know. I do know that Emily went to jail because of what happened.

Hint--- lets say that you are out drinking with someone who works daily at Hollywood beach for many, many years. If you get that person really drunk, do you think that it is possible that the person might tell you about things that happen there?

No offense but you certainly didn't do your homework if you are not doing well mongering in Cartagena. Cartagena is an awesome mongering destination as far as chica quality goes. Its expensive as hell but there are plenty of good looking chicas. Just stop by LDV and you will see plenty of "merchandise". Timing is important at most of the clubs in Cartagena, go too early and the girls haven't arrived yet, go too late and they have either been picked up or gone home. If you go to LDV between midnight and 2 am You will be like a kid in a candy store and hopefully you have good negotiating skills because the "sticker" price on these girls are high.

Go to CTG to monger and did not go to the mecca LDV almost sounds blasphemous but I heard they are starting to ask 400k.

Things seem to be getting a bit rediculous if what you have heard is true. When I was there about three and a half years ago most LDV chicas were happy to take 150K and street and beach girls were even cheaper. Based on my rough calculations, even if you take inflation over the last three years into consideration,the price should be around 165K.

I hope things are not getting this bad as I'm in the process of planning another trip. However I do plan to try and focus strongly on finding chicas in alternative areas, such as retail malls, parks etc. Nonetheless I would be interested to hear any current reports from any members who may be currently checking out LDV.

I will there tomorrow and see what sort of luck I have. Had planned to stay at Monterrey Hotel but could not get a reservation. So decided to go to Hotel Charleston Cartagena (Saint T) for a couple of days.

I have known this chica for over three years,I first met her in LDV and have been all over Colombia with her,name is Marcela.I lost my contact info for her along with my personal photos, I "borrowed" these from a report on here from last year. If anyone knows where I might find her or has contact info please let me know.She is a wicked cool chick by the way and is an excellent provider.

Brief report. I am in CTG for 2 nights and will visit 3 other cities in Colombia. Went to dinner last night in the old city. Decent steak at a decent price. Argentinean restaurant and they had a guy playing guitar and singing.

After dinner I had the taxi driver pick me up for a "tour". I had only been to CTG once before and wanted to see what else was out there. He toom me first to Liguero. He says they have been open about a year. Some decent looking women nothing all that great so after a beer we headed out.

he took me to rocio which I had visited before. Some nice looking women and it was dead. There was only 2 other guys in the whole place. After 2 beers we headed out and there was the crowd of Cruise ship workers coming in.

WE then went to Pley Club. Some very nice looking women but in all of these places most of the women just looked bored etc. We stayed for 2 beers, enough to see 2 of the least attractive chicas dance. Lots of silicon around as well and that is a turn off to me.

I didn't ask prices in any of these spots but asked the taxi driver. He said TLN would be about $150 in Pley Club and $100 in the other spots.

He told me that Monday night he took 2 Italians around and they each grabbed chicas at Rocio and then had 2 more at Pley Club. I guess he thought I would be similarly ready to rumble but I guess living in the DR has me spoiled. For me to drop 100-150 bucks the chica would have to really grab my attention more so in attitude and personality than solely in looks, and even then I would need to be in the right mood.

I had him drop me off at LDV. Lots of eye candy floating around but I just hung out and had a few beers Was fairly crowded 12-2 am and I left about then to head to my hotel which is within walking distance.

I may do some research for doing the rounds later tonight or just hang out in the old city eating dinner and watching some live music. There was a decent band playing Cuban music last night and I would probably been better off hanging out there.

I still have Medellin, Cali and Bogota coming up so no pressure to grab chicas etc.

There is a club inside the hotel would this apply to girls there as well? I would be truly grateful for any help anyone could give me and changing hotels now is not an option sad to say.

Last night I headed to Centro and had dinner at HRC. Hung out at the bar for a few beers and then decided to walk around. Found Babar and Queens for future reference and had a beer at the place up on the wall with the view of the sea.

Then I stopped in Vitrola for some Cuban music and more beer and finally headed to Queens. Not a bad place. Maybe 12 chicas were there. Some cute, some not so much. I drank a few more beers and then decided to call it an early night as I have an early flight to Medellin today.

This is my second trip to CTG and in both trips nothing drew my attention enough for me to pull the trigger. Maybe Medellin will be different etc.

When you check into the Decameron they put on a wrist band and have security at the front door to check people as they enter the hotel.I was with my girl friend and her children so i dont know if the allow visitors.

That said, I've walked in and out and had a date walk in and out of a Decameron in Panama with impunity, without wearing the bracelet that shows you're a guest. So depending on set up you might be able to sneak a woman in.

Another option would be to rent a cheap apartment to keep in addition to your room at the Decameron. You can look around when you get to Cartagena. If you do this, check out the A/C before you rent.
