If the talk is about SWs outside the city centre, another hot tip is the Boulevards des Marechaux, the circular roads around the Paris Arondissements (just inside the circular freeway, the "Periferique"). I don't think I disagree with you, but let's be a bit more specific: it's the boulevard(s) between Place de Clichy and Place Pigalle that are postular with tourist traps. As an avid traveller to SE Europe I cringe at the thought of paying 200-300 dollars for 1/2 hour of "entertainment", but I would have to make a similar reservation regarding the prices of escort services and clubs in London, New York and Tokyo.

I do not know in which language we have to you that all the Pigalle area is to avoid.
It is purely a tourist trap.
The Japanese like this area and the bars has they do not mind paying 500€+ for a bottle of cheap Champagne and some kisses. But if you are looking for some real action go somewhere else!
You can find expensive and good looking girls near the place de l'Etoile or even better: call an escort service.
But again avoid the Pigalle area.

from my walks in the area, i found rue pigalle is amazingly short. it terminates northeast at the pigalle metro stop right across from the moulin rouge. place pigalle is loaded with touristv rraps. from the moulin rouge going west is the blvd. declichy. this is the long row of peep shows and ripoff joints stretching away to the west. one mistaken issue is that most people call declichy "pigalle" when it is not. it only starts at place pigalle.

There was a time, my experience the late 1960's, when Pigalle symbolized all that was right with mongering. On a typical evening, year round, at least 20-30 mostly attractive young women available for 100 ff including the room. No aids, most of the girls inspected weekly for STD's, and no demands for preservatifs. All you had to do was watch out for the odd pickpocket or con man (my 18 year old beautiful virgin sister needs some money.....).

Around 1970 it started getting more expensive and the tourist traps replaced the one on one street encounter. I visited the swing club Le Pluriel back in December, but couldn't post a report until now on account of the delay in WSG membership approvals. Very frustrating. Anyway, here was my experience:

At the door, I was given a once-over by the manager.
