Sheraton is safe. You can get some choices in the bar but the price is unusually high. You can pick-up girls from outside and take them to your room. It is permitted in Sheraton if you accompany the girl from the lobby to your room.

There are many pick-up points in Dhaka- mostly Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara, Dhanmondi areas. You need specific knowledge on the points for the pickup. Unless you are familiar with the chain, you will never be able to reach them.

Some guys at the exit gate will be eager to help you get the street hookers but you can not take them in (security will not allow). In this case you will have to go to their slum and this is dangerous for you of course.

PM me when you are in Dhaka, I shall provide you some contacts which will make your mongering easy (both inside and outside Sheraton).

Can anyone recommend any good hotels or guest houses where it's possible to get girls for short-term/overnight? I'm sure there are some but looking back in the thread it seems that many are closed. I'd be grateful for any hints, you can also pm me.

The place that I have stayed at in the past has changed hands and is no longer girl friendly. So I am looking for a new palce to stay which can provide or at least is happy when someone is brought in. Any suggestions?
