I am also a little surprised the lineup @ Palace has gone down hill so fast. I thought the lineup was quite good during my trip in August, but not as many hot babes as in the past.

Oase is the closer & currently has the best lineup. I thought the lineup @ World in August was the by far the best lineup I've seen this year, but only because a few allstars were present & I rekindled the fire with some of my ATF's.

If you read the recent reports on Oase, many allstars have returned. Do some research & the rest of your Q's will be answered.

No hesitation, you can directly go to Palace as your original plan. Maybe Palace is not desirable for Voto Corleone or some other senior members, however, the place was still ok on my nearest visit. If you are sensitive about cleanness, here is the best. Of course, you can go to Oase where you can expect better service (and dirtyness). The difference of transportation cost is less than 2 euros for single way, if you take train.

Let's say you are staying near Hauptbahnhof. Travelling time and costs (one way) would be something like this:

Public transport (taxi where convenient):
Palace - 30 mnts/3 euro (U-Bahn + U-Bahn)
Oase - 60 mnts/approx. 13 euros (S-Bahn + taxi from Friedrichsdorf)
World - 90 mnts/approx. 20 euros (S-Bahn + taxi from Giessen)

It is of course possible to skip taxi from Friedrichsdorf/Giessen and do public transport only. Costs could then be reduced to 5- 10 euros, but 30 mnts extra travelling time should be added.

Taxi:
Palace - 10 mnts/10- 12 euros
Oase - 25 mnts/40- 50 euros
World - 60 mnts/fixed price at 65 euros (make agreement in advance with the taxi driver)

Rental car:
Time: As by taxi (if you do your homework).
Price: Everything from 30 euro to more than 100 euro (order at least two weeks in advance through Sixti for the best deals).

The above is not 100% accurate, but will give you the idea. Check LBC's reports for every detail.

So where should you go when time is short and only one visit is possible? As you see there are different opinions here. All three clubs usually do it for me, but Oase is my no. 1. Your call.

Maybe I got ripped off but I'm pretty sure my ride to Oase from Freidrichsdorf metered up at 18E and back was around 20E. Come to think of it, maybe it was 15E to Oase then the cab driver took the scenic route back and screwed me out of a few E running the meter up to 18E. That was my only trip ever to Oase and I used the train then cab. As it turned out it wasn't a talented evening and I left after a few hours and went to Palace taking a cab back to Friedrichsdorf then train to palace. I probably cabbed it back to hotel from Palace because I arrived late and stayed late. By the time all was said and done I probably spend 80E on transportation and it all was far too inconvenient and time consuming.

If I had it to do again I would likely try to rent a car if I could get it for 50E a day picking up at train station start around 1pm then I could get to Oase see how I like it, and consider going up to World or to Palace depending how I liked Oase. It's worth getting a car since you'll spend at least that much on transportation to Oase otherwise. It seems like a cab ride from the Hbf to Oase would be in the 40-50E range each way, if not more. The only way I wouldn't rent a car to go to Oase is if price was 80E or more that day for the car.

I sure do hope to get back to Frankfurt for a few days sometime soon because I probably would rent a car and try to do Oase and World same day/night. I would say 1pm to 4am(World closes) would be enough time.

I'd say you got ripped off by the taxi driver from Friedrichsdorf to Oase. I am pretty sure it is 8 euro (I usually pay 10 euro with a tip). It's just a 45 mnts walk, remember. If scared of rip-offs, negotiate a fixed price with the taxi driver in advance. Move to the next one if above 10 euro.

The Bad Homburg - Oase taxi ride is 15 euro (Bad Homburg: More taxis, but longer ride).

Your other suggestions are fine (I am making adjustments to my previous post on the Oase - Hbhf taxi ride). Rental car and flexibility is a good idea. Just remember that the line-ups in these clubs usually improve significantly when the evening shift arrives between 3pm and 6pm if you want to make a fair comparison of the clubs.

The idea is not that one is better than the other but having the car gives you flexibility just in case and you'll spend at least that much in transportation cost otherwise.

As far as the cab ride from Friedrichsdorf to Oase, I'm almost certain it was like 14-15E and the guy got zipped me straight to Oase so I gave him an extra euro, but on the way back the ******* took a left out of the parking lot and a blatantly longer route so by the time we got to the station it was a little over 18E. He surely did jack me around. This was on a Sunday, don't know if rates are higher for any reason than other days.
