I stayed there exactly 3 years ago and it was outstanding. Hard to believe it has gone downhill. I had an oceanfront room with a large balcony. Beautifully appointed and great staff. Used the elevator adjacent to the mall to bring in my ladies. While there was usually staff there, it was never a problem. If it weren't for the economy and my bad investments, I'd certainly stay there again.

How is Pattaya during Xmas and NY Eve? I just reserved a flight but wondering what the situation is like there. I just returned and found I liked the low season--there's fewer girls than there was in November, but far, far fewer falang, so more to choose from on the whole. Anyone been there Xmas/NY Eve?

Last night I pulled into Pattaya about 10pm. By 12:30am I had enjoyed two ovenfresh young girls in Soi 6. Both claimed to be in town for less than a month. Today I took a walk on the beachroad but I saw only one nice girl there, but she was just getting a farang. I hope for a better life in Bkk.

This will open a window showing all the different files being (or already) downloaded for each browser window you have open along with the file size. Find the part corresponding to your YouTube window. The video file will be in the MB size range while everything else is probably KB. Hold down the Option button and double click on the file name. It will then be downloaded. You can close the YouTube window at this point and the download will continue. It will probably be a Flash Video (,flv). I play them back with software called VLC.
There are probably similar methods and software for PCs.

Yep, the monger makeup in Pattaya is much different than in the past. The frugal retirees on pensions have been pushed out and the new breed of fools are here raising the bar. They have condos, cars, and money to dump in the malls. Also, TAT has been trying to bring in a richer class of people who don't know real pricing. Because of this, the girls have become very spoiled.
If you're smart and you think with your head you can still get away with paying below market price, especially now in low season. It is, however, a lot more work then before to get bargain prices. It can be had, but more effort and negotiating is required. Don't give up, and stick to your guns!
