The reports for Havana and the rest of Cuba are so full of stories of the hassles and hard nose negotiating and problems with the police and on an on.

It leads me to ask the question is it worth the effort? Does the quality, skills effort of the Cubanas make it worth it? Its funny one report will say there're all gorditas and the next one says its spinner heaven. Its easily the most contradictory thread on the board.

So how good are they?

My initial attraction to Cuba was totally different. I was interested in seeing a centrally planned economy, and North Korea is not exactly a travel destination. My interests grew to include music (Celia Cruz, Buena Vista Social Club etc) , history (Marti, Maceo, Cespedes, Moncada, Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis etc) and much more. There is also the "Forbidded Fruit" aspect of going to Cuba, with the US embargo. One of my trips to Cuba many years ago was with my then wife (All I did was look on that trip). I have friends in Cuba I visit, tias and tios not named Pepe.

I have never travelled to a place with the express purpose of chasing chicas, and Cuba is no different. There have been some days and nights when I have gone to bed without hooking up with someone while in Cuba, for the reasons you detailed in your post. That said, Cuban women have no equal, and if you have a good experience with a Cubana you will feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I frequently tell this story to illustrate the allure of Cubanas. Cuba is the only place in the world where someone goes for a week, meets a chica and decides to marry her. People meet spouses from other cultures all the time (Expats, study abroad, Peace Corp, language school etc). But in Cuba, a guy who speaks no Spanish goes there for a week and he is ready to propose.

For me, it is absolutely worth it overall, and I suggest you give it a shot.

I am making my first trip to Cuba in March. Whilst I am visiting for touristic purposes I do anticipate a bit of action on the side (I am a frequent visitor to Thailand for P4P).

I'm seeking a suitable Casa Particular where I can go about my business discreetly. Although I am travelling alone, I'd much prefer a Casa with a private entrance and ideally one that is totally private / independent, as I'm not sure I would be comfortable taking back company with a owner and / or family about. All the ones I have found online, even with private entrances seem to have multiple rooms available. I'd much prefer something totally private.

I had booked an apartment online in the Viejo area for 35cuc, however I have received no reply for confirmation (Casa Yusef if anyone is familiar with that).

So I'd appreciate any recommendations and if possible contact details so that I am able to book.

If anyone is in Havana between March 5-10 (before I explore the rest of the island) I'd be happy to buy you a drink or three and get some insight into the Cuban scene.

A few observations about Havana:

Dirty.

Terrible food.

Corrupt Police.

Poor accomodations.

Oppressive heat and humidity during summer months.

Gets boring after a few days.

Need a car.

No more GFE.

I've been traveling to Havana for sometime now and have come to realize that Cuba isn't for everybody.

I had 15 very good days in Cuba and Havana. I stayed in a Casa Particular in Vedado. The casa was perfect for me with services like breakfast, dinner and laundry available. And the most important; the casa was chica friendly. The casa was located close to the main street Avendida de Los Presidente and Avendida 23 (La Rampa). In the area you have 3-4 ATM's and many good paledars. And you use 10 minutes to walk to Salon Rojo. In my opinion Vedado is a very good distrikt in Havana. In Havana I visit followed clubs; Salon Rojo, Johnny, La Maison, La Cecilia and Casa De La Musica in centro Havana and Mirimar. All good places to have fun. Salon Rojo is located in Vedado area (close to hotel Nacional) , Johnny in playa (direction Mirimar) , La Maison and La Cecilia in Mirimar area. The first night I visit Salon Rojo and become surprised over how many girls that wanted to stay with me for the night. 15-20 girls wanted my attention and 10 of them was very good looking. I experienced the situation little bit stressed because I want to start with a beer and just to see. It was difficult because the girls give me no time to relax. Compared with Brasil and Thailand you have more time in clubs to relax and to make a decision on which girl you want to have company with. Before my trip to Cuba I read some comments that Cuban girls are afraid of to stay with tourists? I experienced the opposite. In clubs, restaurants, parks, taxi and casa there was no problems to be with a Cuban girl. Maybe Salon Rojo is the best place to find beautiful girls but I liked the atmosphere at Casa de la Musica in Mirimar and the outdoor scene at La Cecilia. In all clubs there are no problems to find beautiful girls. When you stay in Cuba casa particular is the best quality for the money. Cuban hotels are expensive and the standard lower compared with other places in the world. And you have to pay the security if you want visit from chickas. The food in Cuba is good if you eat in private places. The quality in official restaurants changes. Be careful with some Taxi drivers; if you are drunk and newbie in Havana someone will try to charge you for the double of price that is normal. A good advice is to make an agrrement of the price before you go into the taxi. In generally Havana is a very safe city if you follow some simple beforehanded tips. Cuban chickas are very hot and nice company. Some chickas will ask for 100 CUC but the normal price is 30-60 CUC + taxi (my experience).

Mongers-

I just did a long weekend in Havana over the MLK holiday and I am pleased to report that there is still a plethora of young hardbodies to be had at the usual spots. I stayed at a different four bedroom casa particular that is owned by the descendants of one of Fidel's top M-26 comandantes (Nunez Jimenez). The place was enormous, in pristine condition and decorated in a artistic sex themed style along with old wooden antiques and furniture that would be worth a fortune in western circles. The daughter of this guy also owns a newish restaurant in Miramar called Rio Mar that was about 30% cheaper than the best tourist-geared private restaurants and was filled with obvious government officials (and their rich children) and the unbelievably smoking hot ladies who accompanied them.

Friday night I went to Salon Rojo and there was the usual high volume high quality talent on offer. 10 CUC to get in. 40 CUC for a bottle of Havana 7, and the girls were asking for 100 CUC but would go for 70/80 CUC with minimal haggling. On Saturday I went to La Cecilia and was not particularly impressed with the quantity or quality of talent available; it seems the place is now geared toward the "new rich" in Havana (the MC get referring to the place as the most exclusive in Havana, blah blah blah) , most of the customers were regular Cubans, and prices seem to have been raised significantly. 20 CUC to get in. 75 CUC for a bottle of Havana 7, with the chicas asking for the usual 100 CUC and again dropping to 70/80 CUC with no issues. The best night by far was Sunday night at Salon Rojo; TONS of girls, HIGH quality; this was the first time I bothered staying a Sunday night in Havana and I assure you that all future trips will include a Sunday night stay.

After 15 days in Havana I'm not an expert about the nightlife but have my experiences. Salon Rojo is generally a very good place to meet chickas. Every day Salon Rojo is filled up with hotties except when I visited the place on Monday it was closed. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are very good in Salon Rojo. Some girls in Salon Rojo is hardcore and will ask for 100 CUC + taxi. I had 1 hottie from Salon Rojo and paid 60 CUC + taxi. On Sunday Salon Rojo or La Maison is the place to go. When I visit Johnny on Monday and Friday it was very crowded and many hot chickas. The place isn't big and become quickly Overpopulated. I liked Johnny and the scene there. Had 1 hottie from Johnny and paid 50 CUC + taxi and food. Casa De La Musica in Mirimar is also a good place to visit. I had 2 girls from Casa De La Musica in Mirimar and paid 50-60 CUC + taxi and food. I visit La Cecilia on Saturday and there was a special salsa evenement there. Many people and hot chickas. I liked the outdoor scene and atmosphere at La Cecilia. I ended up with a really hottie (model class) from La Cecila. I had also talked with this girl on Salon Rojo. Thanks![/QUOTE]The houses I rent are ENTIRE private houses (with a pool, all bedrooms en suite, a staff, etc) that do not rent individual rooms out. They are always in Siboney and are in the 300-400 CUC per night range depending on whether they are three or four bedroom.

In the building I stayed there was 5-6 casas of high quality. The day before I left Cuba I checked the terms in every casas and next time I go to Cuba I will prefer Misleydis. You can reach Misleydis on the phone; +53 529 21071 (mobile) or +53 78330744 (private). The casa is located in a very nice area in Vedado with close distance to the action. You have 4 ATM's in the area, walking distance to Salon Rojo (10 min) , a very good paledar in the neighborrhood (Idlo) and Internett connection at hotel Presidente. The casa is chicka friendly, independent entrance, very big room with nice furniture and tv, exclusive bathroom and own balcony in 9th floor with beautiful view of Havana. The price is 30-35 CUC depend on how long time you will stay. The building is very safe with own security guard. Everytime I come with chickas he was smiling. He also want to arrange a meeting for me with a beautiful chickas he knowed.

In Guanabo there is a company call mar azul or isla azul is a government run company they rent from 1 bedroom studio type or little houses to 4-5 room houses with pool last time I was there we got a 4 bedroom house (no pool) for 45 CUC a day it is completely private ones you do all the paper work they give you a key and show you your house they have houses all over Guanabo the one we got was 1 block away from the club Guanimar whits is like club cesilia in Havana alot of p4p at night and during the day you can find girls at the beach or in the little bars all over Guanabo.
