I just hit Ratu Plaza for DVDs as its closest to my hotel. Wow, what a great selection! 70K was the going price. Thanx for the tip. I also stocked up on WII software.

I agree with Smoothy: "...If you are looking for sex, I think that place [Aphrodite] is a waste of time..." It's not impossible to find a girl in there if you are going anyway but definitely not a place to go if you are "hunting".

Firstly, I have hunted in Mangga Dua malls; it's quite different from the more upmarket malls (PI, PS, Senayan City etc) in that the girls in this area are much less experienced in being approached by men (especially bules). It's not like other low end malls where there is an obvious "market" - I'm thinking of Atrium in particular which you should try if you haven't already. The consequences are that there is much less chance of them speaking English - in fact I've picked up maybe a dozen girls in Mangga Dua (over a VERY long period of time) and none spoke English at all. Also - and I've found this - you can pick a girl up and go for coffee with her as a preamble to taking her back to your hotel but she may well have no idea at the outset that this is just a precurser to sex. When she realises she will be off. Not there will be a problem or "scene", but it will be a waste of time.

As for non-pro students - the best time/place is Ciputra Mall late afternoon. It is close to Tarumanagara and Trisakti Universities; loads of girls wander in at that time. Not far from there is Slipi - a small mall which is also very good - maybe better - but is very popular with local business men doing the same as you and frankly a lot more experienced and quicker of the mark than you or me. The biggest mall of the lot is Mall Taman Anggrek which is also close by, I've found it not quite so good as the other two, maybe because it's so big but it's worth a try.

You can see all these malls which are on your right as you drive from the airport to the city, roughly half way. Trisakti University is on your left opposite Ciputra.

There are low end bars with "massage" in this area as well - I've posted on them as have others if you want to search the forum. In summary, I wouldn't recommend them and the area can be slightly worrying after dark if you are not familiar with Jakarta. I have wandered around that area myself however and never had any problem at all.

You will find all the answers in the forum in considerable detail. You don't need escort services, you can find girls everywhere, some places are harder than others. If you want a challenge and have the time and initiative, try looking in malls. If you want them cheap, "on a plate" go to Blok M and/or Kota nightclubs; if you want them expensive go to BATS and the like. Less than 500k is a pretty good price, more than that is getting expensive. They will ask for a million in BATS.

I am assuming it was rp7k per disc as this is about right for the standard dvd movies. The blue-ray are a little more, from memory I think I paid about rp25k or rp30k for the pirated blue-ray movies last time I was there.

Btw why is the price in Alexis and Malioboro is more expensive compare to travel hotel?

Hey Don, that's very debatable - there is no objectively measurable ISO9000 standard that you can refer to when it comes to the hotness of girls, is there? Maybe just a slightly different marketing strategy, trying to serve a slightly different niche.

I have luck at PS and the Atrium mall very easy to find freelance and get cell number, do you have any luck pick up at Block M mall, I try before but the girl is not very friendly but the girl at the department store will smile at you alot.

With respect to local girls, there isn't any real systematic difference. The same girls rotate amongst the various venues around KOTA. This means the local girl you take for 900 at Alexis likely has worked at some place like Rasa Sayang or Travel where she cost 200-300 for ST, and it's pretty common that your travel girl once worked in a place like Sumo, Emporium, Classic, etc..

IMHO, the main difference in price has to do with

1) The quality level of the facilities and the more exclusiveness/ privacy it affords.

2) The higher price reflects a lower daily of customer volume for the girl.

Has Malioboro put its prices up?

On my last trip, at 3 in the afternoon, I was billed (on the official bill) 175K for the "room" and then a subsequent 175K for each of the girls; I took two and got charged for two rooms even though we only used one (a VIP room, I didn't ask for and which is the same as an ordinary room except it has a window overlooking Harmoni Busway stop).

Now at 350K ++, yes they charge tax, that means Malioboro is getting near to Maribaya but at least in Maribaya you get the BJ (and it's always a topnotch BJ in the 6th) without a condom which does not seem to be the policy in Malioboro, what's that all about?

The election won't cause any problems for mongers. Maybe a demo or two might make the traffic even worse, but nothing out of the ordinary. Elections are now just "ho-hum" in Indonesia.

Got back from Jakarta a month ago so sorry for the delay, stayed at Park lane hotel in casablanca, kuningnan, previously I rented an apartment for a month in Taman Rasuna good value at 6mill for the month and had a great two bedroom apartment with balcony and view but parklane sufficed for my two week stay.

Had around 20 numbers from off a couple of chat sites and had sorted them into two lists, definetly's and maybe's, I think I only paid twice in my two weeks, typical day went like this, wake up mid day send last nights shag on her way by making up an excuse, business meeting or something, then get some food into me and arrange to meet next victim at nearby mall for coffee or better still invited them straight up to my room first date. Seduce and shag victim in room (not hard in Jakarta) then answer previously set mobile alarm wich sounds like a call and make excuse. Have to go. Walk her down to taxi and then back up for victim two of the day. This worked well except for one day when second victim turned up early while first still in room! But being the quick thinker I am I answerd the door quickly stepped outside and said I was getting a massage can she wait in the lobby for 30 minutes, then back inside to tell victim number one that it was room service wanting to make up room and that she might as well get going as I had business dinner, always gave them 100-200k for taxi depending how far they had come.

Then after banging victim two of the day would (yep you guessed it) make up excuse and walk her down to taxi around 10pm leaving me free to head to blok m my fav haunt, where I would concentrate on waitresses not the WG's.
