But if it is an issue why book in there until you know the answer?

I am staying there for a week and was wondering if it is GF as well?
I think it is GF, but if you don't want the walk of shame, go to the BTS, their 3rd floor entrance elevators go straight to the room floors: no need to go to the Lobby
SNIP.
Another I've stayed at in the past is Honey Hotel, soi 19.
Or if anyone has other ideas of a decent place in this price range (800-1900 or so) , I'd love to hear it. I seriously doubt there's anything acceptable for as little as 800 these days, so probably toward the high end of that spectrum is better.
Thanks
I did a report on a stay of one week at Honey on soi 19. If I'm back in BKK Ill be there again. Its basic yet functional and the staff are good. Oh, and you can walk to Soi Cowboy in 5 minutes. Its pretty well lit around there as well. Didn't feel unsafe walking home at all hours.

I have been doing my fair share of reading ISG and other sources. What I find is that even if there are some lists of Girlfriendly hotels here and there information like that will soon change. Instead of fellow punters having to ask if this and that hotel is girlfriendly just write about the hotels which are not.
In general I guess all hotels in the famous mongerareas are girlfriendly (maby exceptions at Lumpinski which I have not stayed). I have stayed at Intercontinental (Bangkok) for regular girls purposes (and 1 Mixx girl) and that hotel is beeing regarded as a high class hotel I guess but no problem and they did not even blink their eye in reception / security when I walked in with a girl. In various Novotels (nice standard but not like Intercontinental) the same treatment. I guess the most important thing to do is to book a room for 2 persons. If you paid for a room with 2 occupants then I don't know how they realy can refuse you bringing one "friend" to your room. I have never ever, and I have stayed in many places in Thailand and mostly brought unlisted girls to them as well, run into trouble due to this. Sometimes security ask for I'd as a safetymeasure (fire etc) but that is it.
But for gangbangsessions 3 people and more I guess it is wice to ask upfront. For Grand president soi 11 no problem. I have brought 7 people to my room one time (actually that was not for gangbanging purpouses but the securityguy / staff could not know that. This was only for drinking a few drinks and for me having a shower before clubbing. Most of the crowd were friends of my freelancegirl).
This will be my first time in BKK and
I'm planning to spend new years in BKK and I've been reading the reviews about hotels. BUT.
What hotel do you recommend close to the action decent & clean
I'm not looking for anything luxurious.
What do you recommend me?
I think that is "extra persons" above the two people in one room.
Yes, I think it's pretty obvious

Be careful, he's a grumpy old Austrian man.

I used to stay at Honey. 20 years ago as staff were very nice but back then rooms were very small indeed. Haven't stayed there since road work occurred many years back making the Soi somewhat unusable at the time (muddy).
Right now Silq is quite good in Soi 19 although costs more. Some staff are foreigners not speaking Thai. Still prefer Admiral Premier (Soi 23) though. As many room guests as I like, no problem.
