sour grapes from a sour puss
In my humble opinion anyone who tries to take on Giotto on this forum has some lightening up to do. I met him one time and he is a genuinely nice person.
Who cares if his business was down and he devised a workable marketing plan to bring it up. All power to him. Anyone who has a problem with that strategy should stay out of business. And besides, he is one of the best posters at the ISG.
Thanks for clarifying that stereotype
Thanks Opebo for that information. You may not be the most popular poster here, but I find your posts interesting given your unique writing style and perspective which adds color to the Thai boards. You are also probably one of the forum's best sources of info on Issan as you apparently spend a lot of time there.
No, it isn't true. As far as I have been able to observe there is virtually no unemployment in Thailand, and most Isaan men seem quite hard working by my standards. I think part of this unfair reputation stems from the nature of agricultural work, which, though becoming much less common nowadays, used to be the occupation of most Issanites. Farmers often have long periods of idleness interspersed with active periods, governed by the seasons and the life cycle of their plantations. Alas, this lifestyle and many of its traditional aspects are dissappearing quickly as the last of these rural people are drawn into centralized capitalism.
It is true though, that girls are much more put upon than boys, who are very spoiled, and it might not be unusual that the sex-money a girl sends home gets partially redistributed to some relatively spoiled male sibling by her parents. It is also true that most prostitutes have a pimp-boyfriend, but the fact that she typically supports him (if only partially) is a sort of compensation for his sacrifice in being with such a low or shameful woman.
BKK from Nana to Hollywood. No kidding
this was a typical night, drinking at the bar across nana, wander over into nana and start hanging out at the beer bars downstairs. i was drunk and blurry. the night went on and i chatted up a tg but she said her boyfriend was going to be picking her up soon. wow. wild. so i hung out more and met some of her colleagues. soon enough, a very large caucasian man stops thru and i shake his hand and off he and his nympth prances. her friends later chatted me up more and off we went into the evening abyss. no pun intended.
our first stop, some wild place where i saw mostly locals, hardly any farangs. the place was called hollywood. wow. first money was peeled into the abyss as my newfound 'friend' requested some bahts. nice. we ended up very close to the huge stage in a large arena like atmosphere. festive! people were dancing. here we were with our bottle of jack daniels and a half dozen glass coke bottles. i was just happy sipping jack and coke, becoming numb by the minute. hollywood is highly recommended to see locals having a grand time. wonderful! fun! this place you forget where you are, you forget you are in bkk, its the pinnacle of fun!
i'm a regular traveler to bkk, so i'm not into the action per se. that night we partied, danced, drank and went back to the ambassador. nice evening. sent the girls home in the taxi to their surprise. i was flying out early am, i couldn't partake of the fruits that evening. didn't want to miss my plane.
cheers!
Any places in BKK that are like the Soi 6 in Pattaya?
Sometimes, the ability to drink, fondle and make out is fun. WHile the massage places are good for actual sex, any places where you can do this expecially during the day?
