I have been riding Bangkok for nearly 10 years and been in BG alot. This has never ever happend to me there but from my experience I would say that this is something you risk anywhere. How to avoid it? Not sure but watch what you put in your mouth. For me it's important to avoid Jagermaister!!

Anyway My opinion is that place like BG is more safe than clubs!!

Doll house has a mamasan of very good character. However I can't comment on management. Never had any problems.

In any major city, and almost any place with lots of tourists, there will be people who take advantage of the tourists. It's only fair. We travel to places like BKK to take advantage of the locals.

Your problems at the Dollhouse should have tipped you off that you may be out of your element. Chances are there's an explanation about the disagreement over the bill. It might not be an explanation you like, or agree with, but it's probably there. Maybe you misunderstood the happy hour special, maybe you were charged wrongly for a drink or a lady drink. In the end it's not a large amount of money.

If you travel alone, especially if you spend your time in the red light districts, you run the risk of being drugged and robbed, or just robbed. Be aware of your surroundings, be in control of your situation and yourself. It only takes a second for someone to drop something in your drink or to pick your pockets. Don't drink to much and don't drink anything that has been out of your sight.

There's also an obvious advantage to staying at a hotel that checks and keeps the girls identification.

I remember a similar thing happening to me once in Maracaibo, it was a Friday night and I had been to the bank that day for my weekend spending money. But it never hurts to stay cautious around the places we pursue our hobby. I usually carry nothing in my pockets except cash that I think will cover my night which is usually nothing more that 2 - 3 k THB. In Thailand you never pay the girl in advance, so you don't need to carry that cash.

As a rule I never drink anything that has not been opened in front of me. I never accept drinks from strangers, no matter how hot.

The other incident over in Beergarten is serious if it actually occurred. Has anyone else on the forum been doped here? Although it is near impossible to figure out here what happened in this case, I am skeptical the bar manager would threaten to call the police if there was an overcharge on the bill, particularly if this was explained to the manager.

OTOH, if we were talking about second floor bars in Patpong, which we are not, that would be another story.

Tuesday Night:
