Few initial observations on Pattaya, a former regular haunt. Returning after over a year away, they may be old hat to residents but are novel to me.
Theres a snazzy new mall opened right next to Soi 8 where I’m staying - like to be at the centre of the action. It is chock full of expensive shops (recession, what recession?) and has a splendid food court where I will no doubt be doing a lot of my scranning on this trip.
Taking a mid-evening stroll along the Beach Road, I was amazed at the sheer number of freelancers around. What crackdown? Far more than I recall from previous visits. Mostly skegs and skanks, there were also quite a few nice looking chicks as well, certainly on par or better than would be found in your average bar beer. Returning the same way a couple of hours later the lookers had mostly gone, probably snatched up LT by earlybirds. Maybe if you want a nice looking Beach Road FL, you have to get there early?
Lots more Indians around – Pattaya seems to have become very popular with sex starved sub-continentals. Actually saw a couple of Sikh gentleman doing some business with a pair of Indian hookers (I heard their accents so I was in no doubt that they were Indian ladies). So I guess its not only with Indian men that the place has become popular. An interesting development – I wonder if they do business with Falangs as well? Took a plane from Calcutta to Bangkok the other day, when Indian Air pilots finally got their strike shit sorted out, and it was full of young, wealthy, smirking, slavering Indians males yabbering to each other about the delights to come (when the weren’t pestering the trolley dolly’s or trying to make cell phone calls in mid-air!). Bet that the return flight could be called the 'dripper clipper'.
Saw a funny thing in Peppermint, although it was no doubt, totally unfunny for the girl concerned or her victims. Whoever designed the footwear for the table dancers in there has got to win an award for ‘Pattaya sadist of the year’. They are retro-70’s platform clodhoppers with 4 inch heels. This plus the fact that the girls are knickerless makes an accident waiting to happen. And last night it did! Guess the problem with fighting with lb’s is that part of your mind holds back with the ingrained pre-conception of not hitting a woman, whereas you are actually taking on fully grown adult males. So you are at an immediate disadvantage. Last I saw of the guy he was weaving down the soi, trying to pick a fight with everyone he passed. Makes me proud to be British …not! Does seem to be a lot of the dubious gender around on soi 8 though.
This fracas led to my meeting my ‘tilac’ for the night. This cute little thing had come out of her beer bar to watch the fun. They wouldn't do it if it didn't improve their marketability. You may find it disgusting, but far more mongers love it. In my case usually the only time I run across the implants is in older women who got them years ago in better times (I'm normally unwilling to pay what a young fake-boobed woman would cost). I can tell you though that in most cases the big implants on older women are a very nice plus, even though ideally I prefer 'soong, pawm, and nom lek'.

Walked down to Soi 6 earlier to visit Red Point Bar. Nearly enticed into Ruby’s but stuck to my plan and saw a quite nice looking lass outside RPB, who grabbed my arm and escorted me into the bar.
