Day 5.

Some of you are more well traveled than I, but I guess a comparison is in order. My overall choices today are Rio, Thailand, Philippines, right now a tie between Lima and Costa Rica, then Cartagena. The Asian scene is fun, great women, and a great price point. But I am not going to go there for anything less than a few weeks. Rio is a place where you can party, but Luomo and 4 X4 are going to be expensive if you make it a daily habit (of which I did! I like Cartagena, but it's a pain to get to from here (sitting in the Panama airport for 5 or more hours just doesn't do anything for me), and the scene is not all that extensive. CR and Lima are relatively easy to get to, and low cost, which makes for convenient long weekends. The San Jose scene is much quieter than it was 5 years ago, but I am comfortable there. The town itself has little appeal for me at this point. Lima was easy, convenient, safe, and inexpensive. Renting the apartment, walking around Milaflores, meeting girls thru David. It was a solid tourist destination. Eating at fancy restaurants at $12/ entree, or at a world class restaurant at $50/ person was nice. Hollywood124, thanks for the kind words. But I try to help out guys who are trying to avoid hard core, clock watching, cell phone talking pros. The guys who are organized are easy to help out. I recently let a member down due to the 36 hour trip to Bangkok and accompanying jet lag. I really felt bad that he was left waiting for a girl who I had forgotten to send his information. Since things can and will happen I always have a "Plan be" and a "Plan see" ready as sometimes your date cannot make it. Illness, accidents, or the terrible traffic in Lima are reasons that maybe your date cannot make it. Guys, please consider that David is very busy with work and family so please have other plans ready when things fall through.

I know over on the USAG side of things we get the same type of crap people that come in and post random stuff that has either been asked and answered before and with a little bit of reading you can find out, or you get the people that just like to spout random crap questions that have a pattern of almost Willy Wonka type thought.

The first type I tend to tolerate and try to help by at least showing them post or explaining where to find the info they seek. That's a one time thing though.
