I agree 500 is what the meter + tolls + tip would be anyway.
Airport to a hotel somewhere between Nana and Asoke Skytrain stations would be about 400 baht maximum including tolls, even when traffic is dense.
A tip is not necessary, nor expected except for waiving return of some small change.
Only when the driver does something exceptional (carry your very heavy luggage into the hotel or such) can a tip be considered. Otherwise, don't do it. It paints you with a big "stupid farang" sign.

If a driver is honest, puts on the meter without any complaints, drives well, and gets me to my destination without any monkey business, I don't see a problem giving a tip, particularly given for most of us a tip to a taxi driver isn't going to put a dent in our wallet. I can live with a hypothetical "stupid farang" sign pinned on me by a taxi driver I would likely never see again although I suspect a "thank you, I appreciate it" sign would present itself as often.
I have a different opinion about excessive tips given to bar girls and the like, because unlike a hard working honest taxi driver who is scraping by, they are for the most part making more money than they ever imagined, and really don't need more.

The hotel hailed a cab to take me to the airport. When I instructed the bell boy to tell the driver to use the meter he refused and demanded 400 BHT from Huai Kwang. I didn't want to wait around for another cab so said OK. What perplexes me is the driver knew traffic would be light and gas is cheap these days. Couldn't he also get a return customer? I did make it very clear he wouldn't get the full 400 if he didn't drive carefully and not like a bat out of hell. He complied to that.
She had an impish and quirky nature to her and though not the cutest girl in club, I began a rather quick negotiation with her. Bh2 k for all night. She stayed at my apartment until 9 am the next morning and was quite fun. Even allowed a digit in her teeny backside though maybe too tight for anything bigger. Needs a trim too, which is another sign she is not in the game. Left me her number but does not have internet apps. WIR? Good chance.
Jackpot. A newbie who doesn't know much about prices. Freelancers are definitely the cheap option. Long pussy hair is definitely not the fashion these days but she might not know or care, if not putting her pussy on show that much.

You can consider me stupid but I doubt he does. He just knows some Farangs are more generous than others. Some of us have empathy for how tough it is to make a living for taxi drivers. Far too many fucking taxis. There should be a limit set on taxi numbers.

I've always like the Hooters uniform, and I do like the absence of tats. Nice eye candy, overall. I wonder if the wings are any good?

Hooters Bangkok
One odd thing about the Hooters Nana location is the bar sitting area that lines the sidewalk for best people-watching has no awning, no cover to protect patrons from sun, rain and the elements and no visible means (so far) to install one when needed. And in that spot you are too far from the aircon to benefit much from it and no evidence of a fan system to assist.
That can make for a fairly uncomfortable option when we are no longer blessed with the relatively mild weather we have been enjoying lately.

Let's see: do I want to spend my time and money in a bar that charges more for drinks than any other bar on Soi 4 and does not allow barfines or any real interaction with its bar girls? Its a tough question and I know I will have to make up my mind pretty soon because I do not expect Nana Hooters to last a year. Which reminds me, before Nana there was a Makati Hooters. It went out of business last year. Quelle surprise! What were they thinking?
YouTube has a first impression of Hooters Bangkok at Nana: https://youtu.be/jKqaQmDiJDo.
Wow I am impressed. I did not detect much in the way of the Baccara highly modified fake alien look. These appear to be nice real Thai look natural girls for the most part and big boobs not even a requirement. You can expect highly padded bras of course.
I particularly like the straight smooth hair, none of those silly Baccara hairstyles that hide half the face.
I probably generally go for girls a bit skinnier, but a pretty face will do. At least no flabby girls. I would give it a try. Well done to the boss hiring the girls.
I would not spend bulk time there, but I could imagine short visits, when hungry assuming they serve O.K. food. I see Soi 15 has a Hooters too. So not sure why they two of them so quickly.

There needs to be more of it and less western rhetoric on these pages sometimes. If people want things to be the same in a foreign land as it is in their home town maybe they should stay there.

Are funded

I assume these sorts of establishments / brands are funded by venture capitalists (I am open to correction), so I wonder what due diligence went into this one. Not much I assume. But then again they have far deeper pockets and more qualifications hanging on their walls than I do.

I skipped it last weekend I was in BKK and will check out the other location on Soi 13. Hopefully the talents are better, if not the wings better be good. Hottest Hooters girls outside the US have been Japan, Korea and China.

Nana hotel and Environs
I am back in Bangkok again after a few days in Cambodia, staying at Nana Hotel, as usual. I still like this place even though it is kind of rundown. I am a nostalgic kind of fellow and have been mongering here for more than two decades. I like the sinful character, the friendly staff and the guys downstairs who sit around and talk the day away. I am not a big fan of the bar scene with the exception of Crazy House. I spent several evenings there last week and boy are those girls cute, nice and firm young bodies. And they are completely nude! The waitresses are not at all pushy and I had a seat off the stage. Drinks run just over 100 bahts, 150 I think for my whiskey. For the cost of a drink the girls stand in front of you and let you caress their firm tits and asses. I just wish they didn't all have to shave their pussies. I am big fan of a nice Bush and find them far more attractive than the stubbly pussies I usually am confronted with. Now the girls outside in the Nana car park are a different story. I have been very lucky in the past but this year with the exception of Saturday nights I am not impressed by their numbers or quality. There are far fewer girls than in the past and many start out asking for 1500 bahts but will usually go for 1200. A few starfish, very pretty but stuck up if you ask me. Many girls fall into this category these days. They are border line rude when I engage them in polite conversation and inquire about services rendered. I miss the old days when so many of these girls were really cuddly friendly. : "where you go now? I take care of you good. " It is really a hit or miss kind of deal today but I remain optimistic that I will find that rare diamond in the rough tonight. Otherwise I will head to Snow White or Kasalong.
By the way, I saw a post saying Star of Light was closed. Can anyone confirm. I have not been over in the part of town yet.
Cheers
