They actually charge you for taxes when getting a room. I do feel they have one of the best breakfast areas near the strip.

None of the rooms have balconies. It has more of a dormitory feel. A lot newer, updated, and cheaper airbnb's are all around the area.

My man Gogo used to go there a lot. He had got used to the place and the price until I convince him to try something different. He's never been back and may never return. That was maybe five or six years ago.

Currently in Boca Chica you can get a newer dated two bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and balcony for the same price.

I'm in a WhatsApp group. A guy keeps showing us current videos of and the atmosphere during business hours. I was like dude who are you trying to impress? Keep those lame ass videos for guys who are new to the area. They did nothing but discouraged me from patronizing the business.

I have been to Boca Chica a few times and doubt if I will ever go back. Too many hustlers on the beaches and the women not what I was looking for. Hardcore Haitians and Dominicanas. I prefer Juan Dollio a bit more upscale. Night life in Boca was disappointing in comparison to Sosua. If I had never been to Sosua I would settle for Boca Chica. Sosua has better food. Beaches and women.

I'm posting a few other observations which I had forgotten:

Best currency exchange is available at the Caribe Express store. The street vendors were at 5200 pesos = $100 .

The girls start arriving on the strip at 7. 30 pm and start clearing out around 12.30 am.

The laundromat for same day service is located directly across the street from the Alicia Beach hotel. The cost was 700 persos for 5 pound load.

The guaguas (small bus) traveling From Sosua to Cabarete can be ridden for 150 pesos. The pickup location is across the street from the Texaco station near the carwash. These buses are efficient and cheap however they are crowded.

Dominican water should be avoided at all costs as. This trip was the first time I've ever had issuses and it wreaked havic on my intestines causing me to lie in bed for a day recovering. I reccomend traveling to the DR with activated charcoal pills.

My amigo who lives in Sosua reccomends that frequent US travelers to Sosua enroll in the Global Entry program for fast customs clearence. He and his friends are also big proponents of the Jet Blue credit cards for travel rewards -- I cannot vouch for qaulity of these credit cards.

There is alot of cannibis available and some of good qaulity however there is a 30 day jail sentence if apprehended. The hotel guests at New Garden were smoking 24 hours a day and nobody seemed to care. I would not reccomnend smoking on the street or beach.

Some Sosua-newbie-question. My first trip to Sosua coming up soon.

I like Jomtien in Thailand. Not as much party as in Pattaya but still some action in the evenings, you can go out solo, drink cheap, get a little drunk, have a lot of fun, play pool, watch sports, pick up a girl and go home. So I am planning to do this when visiting Sosua for the first time soon. I know a little Spanish. What do you think, does it work for a gringo to go out solo and hang out with unknown people on bars and pick up girls? How does it work with the girls, in Thailand you can stay with a girl for the entire evening and bring her home, some compensation involved obviously, same in Sosua? The girls go out to drink and party with you? Or do you pay by the hour, no matter if you are fucking or eating and drinking?

You will have no problemSosua is perfect for the long ranger. You can do all the things you mentioned with no problem. The weekend action is the best with a few 100 girls floating around mostly at the casino playa Chiquito. Lots of friendly gringos to socialize with. I have been traveling solo for over 10 years and highly recommend it. Everything is very close and easy to move around.

What are some good short term hotels for 2-4 hours in sosua and cheap and clean?

Very easy scene / town to figure out.

Theirs nothing wrong with making mistakes on first trip just learn from them.

To answer your question, there are only like 2 short time hotels in Sosua. One is Dulce Secreto and the other is closer to the strip. You guys are thinking Sosua is bigger than it actually is.

The part of Sosua that you will be in is about the size of that L-shape section where the gay bars are in Jomtien right next to View Talay 7. There are more gay bars there than normal bars in Sosua.

Did you drink tap water, brush your teeth or what? My understanding is that all merchants use commercial ice in the DR, which is very cheap, so shouldn't be an issue.

Also, while Global Entry is a great thing for anyone who travels internationally, it doesn't have anything to do with customs outside the US. It expedites the security check on departure via TSA Precheck and immigration / customs clearance on return to the US. Just thought I'd mention that.

Also, I already mentioned this in one of my reports, but POP has an arrival lounge that offers Fast Track Customs, Immigration and Luggage services. Highly, highly recommended. If you have Priority Pass, which is available with many credit cards, it can save hours waiting in line, not even mentioning free cold brews.

You are correct about Global Entry -- All my contacts in Sosua are from the USA.

I was brushing my teeth with tap water so that's what I "think" caused problem.

I have a friend on the ground who advised me that there are 100's of girls on the ground. This may be the Christmas rush but it is good for us. I had to make a tough decision this week between a sure good thing in SD or the wild card of in Sosua. I opted for Sosua because the variety is so tempting.

I would say that the amount of chicas hasnt changed much but what has changed was the decline in tourists which is probably attributed to this being slow season.

This is a good thing. IMHO.

The New Garden was at about 30 % occupancy when I was there in late September.

It was a relaxing vacation but I got bored after about 7 days.

You need to book it for 4 hours at least- recommend you go there first and turn on the AC- El Central is ok for a quick jump but it is pretty spartan. There was a hotel beside city hall that was on a par with central. There must be others but it hasn't been a big concern for me lately tbh.
