I'm looking between Colombia and DR from a logistics and costs stand point. From where I'm located, a ticket to Brazil is about 1. 5-2 x the cost of a ticket to Colombia or DR. My next trip I plan for it to be 4-5 days. Brazil would need at least 7-8 days to justify the flight cost hence me looking between Colombia, Brazil or even Panama. Brazil definitely has the type of women I like so I don't think there's any issue there. It's more so between Colombia and DR.

The main strip has been shut down by the powers that be and the action has moved way up to the end of the road away from the beach. There are rumors of the main strip reopening but nothing has really panned out yet.

The big allure of being able to easily enjoy beach, food, weather, and entertainment in a small area is gone.

I'd wait until a couple of weeks after the February elections and see how things shake out before making any plans for Sosua. If Willy becomes mayor, the main strip will probably revert to the old days. If the current mayor stays in power, you can expect more movement towards the outskirts.
