I think we have to gauge the standards for each country. The Germans are making a big deal right now, but their threshold for action is much more strict than the UK or the US. At their peak, their case count was 25 per 100 K per day. The UK was sitting at about 90 per 100 K per day, the US at about 75. Currently the case counts are 8 per 100 K per day in Germany and 16 in the UK. Both put the US to shame as we are still sitting at 25. Worst, France and Sweden are sitting at 27 and 30 respectively. For perspective, the latter 3 countries, despite the recent improvement in numbers, are currently still seeing more cases than Germany at their peak!

That being said, the German poor vaccine rollout came as a huge surprise to me. Is it the logistics? Did they not pre-order enough doses? Are the Germans more reluctant to get vaccinated? Things I don't know. The entire EU is sitting at about 6% vaccinated with Germany not too far behind at around 5%. The UK is above 20 and the US is approaching 15%. We're currently vaccinating at 0.5% of the population per day. At that rate, the USA will be at half the population vaccinated by June. But that rate may even increase as the general public will soon be included into the list of eligible vaccines recipients and as more vaccines such as AZ and Johnson and Johnson will soon add to the total vaccine supply.

I fully endorse your observations regarding the British situations, vaccine efficacy, and effects of variants. UK was ground zero and they got through the worst of its effects. Same with South Africa. As such, I am cautiously optimistic that most western nations will control the effects of variants on potential surges. A little bump may be in the works but nothing near the magnitude of the Christmas surge. 2 steps forward with one step back is perfectly reasonable to expect as long as the trend continues to move in the right direction.

For all the rhetoric about mainstream media manipulation, it seems that people with certain agendas seem to pick and choose observations at their convenience in order to make their points. But if their predictions are right and we see the same case numbers with restrictions one year later, I'll commit to the revolution with my pitchfork and musket like they apparently would like to see.

These are just the short term side effects that are immediately visible, but what might be the possible side effects in the long term? What does this (barely tested) stuff do to your body over the next 5 years? Over the next 10 years? Or 20 years?

The problem is that hospitals immediately run into staffing shortages if 40-70% of the vaccinated people call in sick for a number of days because they are suffering from side effects. See my post below yours.

It's the hospitals that are deliberately scheduling less vaccinations, in order to make sure that enough healthy (read; not vaccinated! LOL!) hospital staff is available to work.

(see: WW1 and WW2, and the DDR) Getting anything done with the German 'Behoerde' (authorities) like taxes, permits, approvals, is an extreme exercise in patience and endurance.

This Covid19 crisis has been a complete exposure of the incompetence of many governments. The initial chaos and panic in February-March last year was understandable, but one would have hoped (and guessed) that in the meantime cooler heads would have prevailed, also in Germany. But no. It's still chaos everywhere in Europe, including in Germany. Lockdowns, masks, no masks, closed borders, 15 km travel restrictions, online registrations for border crossings, quarantines, PCR test chaos, contact tracing, it's all one big chaos with no end in sight.

For the last 15-20 years I've been regularly in Germany by car, and when I return to a certain area, city or Autobahn months later, I still see the same construction sites, the same potholes, the same closed down lanes leading to massive traffic jams. Where fixing a road takes a few weeks in Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, France or the UK, it takes months or even years in Germany!

New high peak should be on March in Western Europe, when not enough vaccine. It is total chaos, randomly flung about pharmacies, counties, states, doctors and whatever, most have broken web pages that require registration and excludes illegal immigrants because they cannot exist because the management consultants and their flow diagram assumptions are perfect. It's supposed to be free, but in typical fashion there are footnote, daggers and asterix that requires cash to be paid or insurance. I just checked one site, no appointment through 2023 ! USA is a pigs breakfast. It's not going to happen any time soon or at all.

I don't see how airlines will survive or much of the economy. And the stats don't lie. This is an older baby boomer disease; over 64 is 85% mortality and / or the obese or diabetes. Their one last selfish act on their way out. Pricks.

Had a patient who had been in the same hospital room for one month straight; during that month, even with Noninvasive 100% oxygen support, he could not move more than 3 meters from his bed. He was never intubated, no Intravenous sedation meds, very limited visitors, liquid food for one month, required nurses to wipe his shit every time he had to poop (on a hospital bed). He was a 2 meter, 130 kg, 55 year old man. Last week he dropped his jello on the ground. The guy started crying uncontrollably for an hour. It was a complete mental breakdown. As evident with some of these rants, hospitalization and confinement are not necessary for similar mental breakdowns during this pandemic. On a positive note, the man was finally discharged home today to his wife and daughter.

At ht96: on the other hand the autobahns are free in Germany, not in France. And the bureaucracy of Germany couldn't be slower than the French one.

The average age of Covid19 deaths in Germany is something like 84, and as I've repeatedly pointed out, according to Professor Ioannidis (one of the most cited and respected scientists in the world) infection mortality of people under 70 is 0,05% and the average (incl. Now they lock people inside and force them to wear face masks, yet the number of "cases" still continue to rise and rise.

*) Voicing any questions or concerns about the "vaccine" are not allowed on the extreme left wing social media (again, those are "rightwing conspiracy theories" discussing successful conventional treatment methods with the use of HCQ or Ivermectin is also not allowed by the 'fact' checkers. Lots of virologists, microbiologists and other scientists are getting blocked on social media when they question the 'science' of for example Dr Drosten, the German (and Merkel's darling) who came up with the PCR test that is used to 'diagnose' the Sars-Cov-2 virus.

*) In Germany they have quietly reduced the threshold to justify lockdowns from 50 to 35, supposedly to 'combat mutations.'

*) Any side effects from the vaccine are swept under the rug.

The way they block any scientific and adult discussion with scientists who have a different opinion, it seems that all the 'scientists' that are on the government's payroll (puppets for the politicians) have a lot to hide.

As the joke-meme goes: "you only had one job. " and the government has been deliberately manipulating and brainwashing everybody that the "vaccine" is the only way out. So they completely mess that up that "one job" they gave themselves, while shop owners, restaurants, airlines, bars, and gyms are going bankrupt and people are losing their jobs being locked inside their own houses.

I was chatting to a German colleague who has 3 kids yesterday, and he told me that one of his children is showing serious signs of depression: not wanting to play with his friends, not wanting to do homework, not wanting to eat, basically not wanting to do anything except to just hang on the couch. His kids have basically been locked inside for 1 year; schools closed, then briefly reopened again, then closed again. "Thankfully," he said, " we have 3 kids, so they can play with each other, but imagine how lonely onliest children who don't have any brothers or sisters are growing up."

It's truly criminal what the German government is doing, but when you look at their history, it's not the first time they get caught up in a collective madness and hysteria!

When driving in Switzerland lead to jail, but what a relaxing pleasure to drive pushing in Italy between Tarvisio on Austrian border and Cuneo not so far from Genova and sea to go to climb for 22 kms la Bonette 2802 meters high and really look forward returning.
