As for taking a hooker back for the night if you can afford to do that you can afford a decent hotel, but I wouldn't be taking any Kings Cross streetwalker back for the night. If you want a street walker they will have a place to go for a root, but you'd be mad for an all nighter.

If you want a brothel girl then again keep away from the cross. There are some good places around with some stunning girls, but the cross does attract some of the 'lower' end girls. There are plenty of cat houses in the eastern suburbs with nice girls and there are quite a few in the inner west and the north shore. My fav when I lived in Sydney was LPA in Chatswood, but you pay over $250/h which is the norm for the higher class establishments and also for some reason the cross places too. I will admit there are a few pubs and bars where you might score with a back-packer around the cross, mainly Victoria Road and Bayswater road. the nightclubs are mainly Oxford street Darlinghurst/East Sydney etc.

I have often stayed at the Manhattan in Elizabeth Bay, which is located on the nothern end of the Cross but still convenient walking distance. It is reasonably priced, comfy and clean - if a little in need of renovations - and never had a problem with bringing girls in.

In fact most of the hotels in the Cross area have gone in recent years. Only the Crest/Capital and Holiday Inn are left, although there is a new Formula 1 down on William St.

Pacific International has a few locations, but mainly in CBD City area. Most 3 star and up hotels in Sydney are GF, reception staff dont know who is actually staying there, so as long as you've got a key or ID, you can get in.

Thanks for the info. It was a few years ago when I was last there. Its a pity it has made way for apartments because I thought it was a very reasobaly priced hotel for its location.

Regards.[/QUOTE]Formule1 is very basic (double bed with single above), shower recess, TV. But it is new, and generally very clean. No room service, no bell boy, even self serve check in except at peak hours. Continental breakfast is also self serve. It is within walking distance of Kings Cross, and only a few minutes by cab or bus into the CBD (you could walk in about 15 mins).

K/X is pretty seedy, lots of druggies hanging around. Most of the SL girls are addicts, be careful some are not girls!! There are a few good shops in the area, but a bit pricey.

I agree it's too much. It was the most I have ever spent.
