Pattaya Hotels

Anyone know of a good corporate rate at the pattaya marriott,,does anyone have a corporate rate that I could use ,willl be happy to buy dinner or a bar fine at he gogos for a good rate or any suggestions ,,I have to book thru marriott rather than a travel agent

I'm planning a trip on 6th - 13th December, and just checked the calendar for public holidays.

The 10th is Thai's Constitution day, and I would like to avoid closed bars etc.

So, the places are still open this day?

Normang I don't know of any BKK hotels that have this service but there are internet sites that might help. All the Starbucks are WI-FI compliant.

Now if you want a decent hotel in Pattaya with cable DSL,the Roof Garden Inn is your best bet. I was able to upload 500 mega files in 15 secs a piece.
Not bad I would say at 250.- baht a day, which I was not charged and I can only figure it was because I was there almost a month.

You all know the advantages of the Diamond Beach Hotel:

Girl friendly and good location.

The disadvantages are:

Bugs/cockroaches in the bathroom and from there going to the room.
Everything is old and a little dirty.
This hotel really needs a complete renovation.

It is not that bad that I have to go looking for an other hotel but I will certainly not return there.

Proceed as follows:
Turn off light in bathroom
Turn on light in other rooms starting as far away from the bathroom as possible
CRs will run for dark spots
Use turning on of lights to get them in the bathroom (still dark!)
Turn on the light in the bathroom
CRs will disappear down the drain, under things...
Close bathroomdoor leaving bathroomlight on
Other lights can now safely be turned off
CRs will not reappear

I haven't posted for a month and a half or so because I've been in Thailand with my TGF who never seems to let me out of her sight. I got laid constatly, but couldn't do any mongering at all. What the hell, it was a different sort of experience, not entirely bad ;-).
I was working from BKK so managed to go to Pattaya for three day weekends. Earlier in the year I started staying at BaBooNa (soi 4 Beach Road) and haven't seen anything on it in the forum. Its a nice place, good location right across the street from the beach, with a very good restaurant. Totally GF, I had to ask.
The beds are new and really comfortable, very nice bathroom etc. Its considered a "serviced apartment," but operates like a regular hotel. Cosidering its location and quality I think its a great value; nice place, good vibes.
1200 bht per night double with breakfast
Its 1400 bht in high season which started dec.1, but they gave it to me for 1200 anyway.
The only thing that bugs me at all about the place is that they charge 1bht per minute for local calls which is a bad deal if you're using a dial up internet connection from your room.

looked at the champ pattaya hotel--not impressed with exterior of hotel or their rooms.
ok just to follow up. just returned recently from pattaya. stayed at the siam sawasdee hotel instead for 3 nites. the outside purple building looked alright, but,
dont let the pool or nice lobby and restaurant out front fool u. the rooms on the other hand are very worn and run down, cracks on walls, peeling paint , very dim lighting in room, etc.(guess to cover up flaws in the rooms) etc.
rooms there are in need of major renovation.
only advantages are gal friendly and decent room prices but still think there are better options out there at siam sawasdee prices.
(also very simple breakfast given but not great).-imo

I rather guess they are cheap charlies. A 30 Watts bulb will use less power than a 100 Watts one, which will bring down the electricity bill.

always good to know new hotels in case your preferred one is fully booked, so I have a few questions regarding the below mentioned BaBooNa :

Did the traffic noise bother / disturb you ?
Did they have an in-room safe ?
Did they have a parking lot for motorbikes / cars ?
What about a swimming pool / sun deck ?

Your questions are good ones. The strength of this hotel in my opinion is it location, nice furnishings, good food, and a sort of newness. The price is good and if you can get one of the 4rd to 6th floor rooms facing the water seems like a great bargain.
Now to your points:
1.) I've stayed in four different rooms facing Beach Road and the traffic noise has never been really noticeable, however on some nights the noise from the two clubs on the corner below has been loud and continued until 4 or 5am. Try to stay on one of the upper floors.
2.) No in room safe, key boxes at reception.
3.) Roped off area for motorbikes in front with a pretty much 24 hour security guard. They've kept a good eye on my motorbike. I don't know about parking for cars, but it appears that there is parking behind the hotel.
4.) To my regret there is no swimming pool. That'd be a deal breaker for me in BKK, but for me in Pattaya doesn't seem to be as big a deal.

Thinking of cruising down from BKK and was wondering if I should expect any drop in vacancies in the low-end (400-600 baht) hotels in the soi 10-15 parts of 2nd Road from 30-Dec to 02-Jan.
