I spent the first three weeks of December in Fortaleza and I will try to summarize an update for the firstimers.

To start with get your self a room at the Ibis hotel R59 single, R69 double for one or two nights until you check a few apartments and choose what is best for you.

Check with agencies that are located on Abolishao Ave for an apartment of your taste. The best place to stay is on Avenida Beira Mar just on the beachfront. It is a pity that the sea is not clean enough for swimming there.

My wingman arrived early morning and had enough time to see several until my arrival late afternoon same day.

We finally used the services of FLAT SHOP. Carmen the owner and her sister Andriana are very sufficient and are working on European standards.

We got ourselves a very nice apartment for a ridiculous price.

Two bedrooms with individual baths (suites), living room with kitchenette and most important a small but very nice veranda with a fantastic sea view for only R90/day for both of us. 25 euros with daily room cleaning and linen change twice per week plus free parking space. Fantastic deal!

We also rent a car for our whole stay. It was a brand new fiat with only 1800 km on it. Price was R55 daily with 200km free/day.

We also took third party coverage for an extra R10 daily.

The mongering scene is on Iracema next to the tourist police station.
Forget the beachfront bars. They are all closed and the action moved one-road inwards. It seems to me that someone is trying to buy the area for peanuts and eventually build a hotel or something like that.

Action starts at ZIPIE bar at about 22:00 at later on moves to the bars like
Europa, café del mar etc. They are all there next to each other. To my opinion there are about 300 girls moving around. The quality is medium to low. At least to my taste. Forget what you have seen in Rio, Salvador, Florianopolis etc.

You will be very lucky if you manage to get a 6+ and if you do stick to her for a few days because it will be difficult to find another one.

Asking price is usually R100 but they will go for a R70. The better ones ask for R150 but will settle for R120-130.

Streetwalkers on Abolishao av. near the Habibs fast food. Price R50.

Watches out there are travesties both on Abolishao and Iracema.

Earlier in the evening there are a few pro’s walking up and down the Beira Mar. You will see them later on in the Zipie bar.

There is a third group of girls slightly of better quality that do not go to those clubs.
Every day there is action in a different place.

Mondays at Pirata

Tuesdays at Arreaguia ( or something like that. Small place so be there by 21:00 hrs, nice buffet)

Wednesdays at Armagen

Thursdays at Orbitos and Brasileirino and at Crocobeach and other barracas at Praia Futuro. It is crab night.

Fridays & Saturdays at Mucuripe club.

Sundays at Dragao do Mar at the bar do Bixica and Orbitos

All the above places, except Dragao do mar, have an entrance fee of 20-30 Reais. Currently, on average, 1 usd=2,8 and 1 Euro=3,5 Reais

Armagen, Orbitos, and Brasileirino are close to each other at the Dragao do Mar square and within walking distance from the pro scene.

Orbitos gathers young people 16-24 years. I saw the most beutifull girls of Fortaleza there. Long que thaugh.

That third group of pro girls is gathering at these places trying to hook on customers in a different GFE way. They can ask for higher prices but they will go for R150 or so. They have to cover the entrance fee to these places after all.

During the day hang around at the different barracas on Futuro beach. The most famous are Crocobeach, Cocobeach and Quarangeiso (crab).

Try also Cumbuco but you need a car for that one.

Finally Fortaleza is for vacationers and easygoing people. It would be perfect if you could swim the way I do in the Greek waters. Unfortunately the sea waves are strong. Small scale Tsunamis.

I made a mistake the other day. The street where the agencies are is not Abolishao. It is Mon Senhor Tabosa.

Actually it is the extension of Abolishao beyond Habib´s fast food towards the city cender. But it has a different name.

The agencies are near number 100.

You can find girls every where.

Crocobeach, Cocobeach and Quarangeuso are frequented by most pro girls.

That is because the tourist are going there.

But beleive you me you can stop any woman anywhere and start talking to them. You must not shaw right from the begining that your only interest is to take them to bed.

One Friday night in Mucuripe club there was a real good looking girl. Tall blond a good 8+.

So my wing man approaches her and tells her that we were in the shoe business on a business trip and that by looking at her shoes we came to the conclusion that her shoes were not Brasilian and most propably were Italian made.
She starts laughing she says yes they are Italian that she bought them from Sao Paulo and that she was Paulista.

As you can see she got the bate. My friend did not manage, finally, to get her to bed but he was flirting with her all night having a good time and I lost 50 Reais.
That was my bet that his conversation with her will not last for more than 10 minutes. And we both have nothing to do with the shoe business.

So give them a try in a polite manner and most probably you will score.

It really seems an accurate report, and things dont seem to have changed very much, from 1 year ago.

Those news of police crackdown, haven't affected the whole scene.

Let me ask you a question, Greco, would you repeate Forta in a future trip? Or would you look for other places, it is the eternal question, evertything seems good, the prices, the safety, but the girls quality, is a bit disappointing.

Are the beaches, that you mentioned, in Iracema or near Iracema?

Does someone has tried escort in Fortaleza?

Well, after 5 days in Fortaleza (two with bro Junior), I've got to say that maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Or maybe my standards have dramatically risen. Or maybe the scene has headed south too much. Dunno.

Over four trolling nights in Iracema (the tourist hang-out/sex disco area), I saw two fights, a pickpocketing, an adolescent drug overdose (way too young, like 6-7 years old), etc., etc.

The place has gotten rougher and the girls have declined in quality. All those little kids are beggars AND pickpockets, F.Y.I. Pay attention to your valuables, and clamp your hands down over your pockets in dense crowds.

Anyway, as always, the scene starts late (around midnight) and goes 'til dawn. The party ends at the Kapital disco. The girls cross the street from the other places and enter Kapital around 2 a.m. No facilties anywhere, though there are over-priced sex motels/pousadas to be found here and there. The best in the area is Motel Village.

Girls, though, are still cheap. 100R is the average, with +/- 25-50R variations depending on girl.

On average, it took me 2+ hours every night to find a girl of suitable quality (beauty, attitude, value, etc.). Girls are younger (25 or younger) and inexperienced. I should say, though, that there are 7s and 8s to be found. But, while they're 5-10% of the Rio/S.P. garota population, they're around 1-2% here.

I did not try the SWs this time, but they were out in force in Beira Mar in front of the usual places (Banco do Brasil, Pizza Hut, etc.). They line that main road one up from the beach starting around 11-ish.

Junior and I did make one new Fort. discovery: The Whisky Bar (that's how it's spelled). It's a locals hang-out -- a sort of bar/lounge with girls sitting around, etc. Pretty standard. Junior and I agreed that there weren't any girls worthy of the WSG service, so we didn't find out any of the particulars. I'd expect to to be the usual (i.e., 100R or so for sex, 25R quartos on site, etc.). There's supposed to be another brothel in town, but we didn't bother to look into it.

Also, many girls to be found during the day sitting in the outside beach bars in Beira Mar.

In the end, I'd have to call it an "Aliens vs. Predator" type of scene. Problem is, I'm not sure who's playing which role at any given time. Oh well.

The names mentioned are "barracas" along the Futuro beach.

Barracas are restaurants/bars with beach chairs for free.

Praia do Futuro is the main clean beach of Fortaleza.

Iracema is not that clean so I`avoided it.

Also try Praia do Cumpuco some 30km out of the city.

Just a quick update on my visit to Fortaleza with Jwadd. To put it simply we were supposed to stay there for five days, but I bailed for Rio after two nights as the scene in Fortaleza was not to my liking.

The clubs and areas mentioned in Jwadds reports were only open at night, ie. after 11. Daytime activities seemed limited to whatever you could find at the beach or getting a phonenumber from a girl you liked during the nightly visit to one of the clubs and then arranging a get-together the following afternoon.

The quality of the girls was very low in my honest opinion. I am probably way too spoiled by many trips to RJ and SP by now, but the majority of girls I saw at the Fortaleza clubs did not meet my minimum requirements for getting a night with Junior.
But if you fancy getting hit on by a large number of short and unattractive women this might be the place for you.

Another issue for a northener like me is the damn humidity in Fortaleza - way too hot and humid.

I would recommend using the parthenon meirelles apart-hotel if you decide to go. It has very nice appartments and is quite cheap. They do charge R30 for visitor, but is otherwise fully girl friendly.

I've been hearing reports, nothing firm, mind you, that the new anti-sexual tourism campaign in Forteleza and Recife has resulted in the creating of a new scam. I'd like to hear if anyone's seen or heard of this scam being run.

Basically, the girl claims she's a minor AFTER sex and threatens to "fazer um escándalo" unless the guy pays extra. The Forteleza cops claim to be busting 180 gringos a month on "sex-with-minors" raps and I'm wondering how much of this might be the result of this scam.

If anyone's heard of this or been the victim of it, please speak up!

if one sticks to the garotas hanging out inside the various bars near pria iracema (such as kapital, etc) then you will have no problems with a garota trying to pull a "sex with minors" scam. in order to get into those places, the girls need to show id - and the clubs don't want to lose their licenses by letting **** girls in - so you know that you can safely pickup these girls without having to worry about a scam.

yes, the problem is that if you are on the beach every 2 minutes a girl will approach you. yes they will look and stare and smile at you. this happened on 3 beaches, and you can observe the policia observing you. they sit in this make shift tent umbrella and they only observe you once the girls start approaching. i have witnessed 4 europeans being shaken down for euro's right there as they sat in their chair. the girls would threaten to tell the policia that they have been approached and that they are ****. i seen one particular arguement continue for 20 mins before the police walked over and then they threatened to take the 2 guys away but then they went in to their waist pouch and removed money and handed it to the girl. the girl and the police walked away in the same direction. then they stopped after they walked further up the sidewalk and i seen the police hand the girl something, make money. i don't know it was to far to see. the girls in fortaleza are clearly young or young looking, don't even think about it don't talk to them. do not trust those police on the beach. it seems like the police were setting european men up. i was talking to an italian guy and he said he was getting out of that city because the police kept harrassing him. in this city the women are very aggressive very aggressive. i was sitting down eating at a table near the beach and two women welcome themselves to my table and started to introduce themselves and propositioning me. i had no interst in them but they remained seated and kept talking and asking me to buy them a water or beer. too many 4's and 5's in this city. you will definitely be hassled by the girls and women. prices are cheap but not worth it ($r60 all night). go to the university, that is where the action is, i enjoyed the company of a thin morena marisa for three days. she was a non pro and very affectionate. she invited me back to her place where she was living with 2 other girls. she cooked and took me to the mall. she gave me 3 phone numbers of her friends and said that they are very nice girls and are students working in the shopping mall and need to make more money. the campus atmosphere is much better, the girls there are all 9's and 10's but you must speak portuguese. there is a club called magalina and it will be packed on thursday night. packed with nothing but non-pro action. they will introduce themselves to you and dance and act as if they know you. you will see many italinan guys leaving with women but these are all students and all non -pro.

i appreciate the details in your report, but i know from experience that a lot of people find it very difficult to read a report that is written as one long block of text. it's kind of like trying to eat an entire steak in one bite.

i know how this happens: you're banging away at the keyboard, putting your thoughts into the report as fast as you can write them. however, if you could hit the return key every few sentences while you're writing, and thus break your report into smaller paragraphs, your report would be much easier to read, which would certainly be appreciated by your fellow forum members.
