Blown away by murder story
Don't lose your cool. I personally find it humiliating to express too much sympathy, to give too much assistance, only to find that the sad story is untrue or exaggerated. In this case, exaggeration is impossible, the BF was either murdered, or he was not. If he was, confirmation, either paper or digital, should be easy to come by. It will be in the news, it will be discussed online and available by google search by name. Your choice: either listen politely to the story and then forget about it, or ask for details and seek confirmation. If the dead man were a husband or relative, she should have confirmation in the form of a death certificate--and funeral photos. However, there is no need to seek confirmation unless she has a followup, some version of "Give me money."
[QUOTE=X Man; 1309833]Okay, this is going to be weird. This is a gal I've known for a long time. I met her in Cebu but she's not from Cebu. She has a professional job. I don't keep in touch much, but I've tasted her.
I don't know much about her current life, but I send her a how ru msg and I get.
Just lost my Belgian Boyfriend a week today. He was killed by a Filipino. So bad.
I'm just blown away. Any comments? Yes, I've asked for details, but this is kind of weird. I've had a lot of bad luck in PI recently. I'm not superstitious, but I'm getting weirded out. (That may be American slang. Weirded out. I feel very uncomfortable because things are getting weird)
