Pattaya Reports

I will be in Pattaya (and Bangkok) for a few days next week. wrt: the mongering I pretty much know what I'm doing (not my first trip), but I never seem to have great restaurant experiences.

So I am looking for Pattaya restaurant recommendations, specifically:
- great breakfasts
- good "hole in the wall" restaurants
- great Thai food
- anything else you want to share

Note: I most eat alone, reading a book, so places that accommodates solo-dining are preferred.

One thing not seen mentioned, are mosquitoes much of problem in Pattaya in November. Do you know? Having fair skin these bastards always seem to target me. Will take repellents etc.

Actually, after I RTFF, I gather that SOI 6 and that area is actually for the rejects in Pattaya. It is the retirement area for the queens at top of the game years past. WS is for young up and coming talent. That is not gospel, cos there are some hotties there too, but they go to SOI 6 when they wind down, right guys?

First visit is always hit or miss. You don't really know shit yet! How can you just aim your shotgun at this great monger city? It sounds like you got most of your impression of P from the Beach rd talent. I'm told even famous Na is unrecognizable cos she so out of shape.

I'm just a happy monger glad to be able to escape the BS of the dating scene at home.

Not 100% correct.....many girls just starting the game begin here.....but you have to be quick to find them and fuck them......they get sponsored quickly if they are spectacular.....and you never get to see them.....but you do get to see the retirees and ladyboys all the time.

The great hole in the wall for Thai food is on Soi Buakhao......just up from the intersection with Soi LK Metro....on the right side if you are facing north.....little joint with ladys cooking at the open front and a tile interior with home cooking and good price......

Breakfast - Continental: Domicil restaurant Second rd between Soi 7 and Soi 8
English: Crazy Dave's on soi Chiaphum. Very cheap (90 baht I think).

Hole in the Wall - only hole in the wall places will be good. The most important rule - [i]Don't eat Thai food anywhere you see other whiteys eating[/i]. Best Thai food in Pattaya is 1) at the corner of Soi Bukao and Pattaya Klang from 1:00 am to 5:00 am, and oddly enough the second best is at roughly that same location, just a few meters further from Bukao, during regular dinner hours. Different people set up at different times though (kind of curry on the street type places). A large, delicious repast will cost you only 50-80 baht. (Please, brothers, do not bother decent Thai restauranteurs or their clientele if you are drunk, loud, or cannot speak Thai sufficient to order. If you are any of those things, go to Kiss Restaurant and get bad food - they're used to dealing with that crowd.).

Good German food generally: 1) Domicil, 2) the Beirstubie or Beirstuble near the beach end of Soi 7, on the left side as you walk towards the beach. The one with the large German owner with big sideburns and bald head. Both will run in the 200-300 baht range.

Good cheap French food: The little place on Soi Yamoto just down from the beach on the left as you walk away from the beach. Opposite the big fancy brew pub monstrosity there. Can't remember the name but they have nice set menus for 200-300 baht.

I don't know that location, but - in my opinion this bar can be named only "Bierstüble".
That is deep South German dialect (Bavarian). But doesn't matter, such small mistakes make this - so serious - reports a little bit smiling.

There is a great hole in the place on soi buckehow between soi lk and soi Diana inn it is on the opposite side of the road from lk & Diana Inn.

There are many places for breakfast but another to mention is the little cafe in the shopping arcade opposite mike shopping mall next to soi diana inn .

Both are GF but the Areca Lodge does charge if you bring more than 1 girl back together. I think it is about 200bht per additional girl but you will need to check with them.

I have never been in November but I always take or buy repellent they are sneaky bastards.

There is even a note in the reception saying so. Wonder if it was not 300? Double BF. Also worth noting is that the same sign says no girls below 20 years old.

Hi Roy Stone, I have just returned from Pattaya, first half of the week was very wet and streets where flooded, second half much drier and weather gets good in November. I am a fair haired and fair skinned Brit, the little Mossies love meat from the UK nearly as much as Issan bar girls, I got bit to fuck last week very itchy thankfully the itch is only 48 hours unlike some bites which last 4-5 days also I didn't use any repellent. You need to drink lots of Singha or Chang the little bastards will only bite you once, after that they can't fly straight and keep crashing into walls.

Visiting Pattaya w45 for the first time staying at Holiday Inn for work. Presumably not a girl friendly hotel ? If not, considering relocating to girl friendly hotel after duty completed at end of the week. Would very much appreciate good advice from experienced fellows ?

May the force be with you.[/QUOTE]Best anti mosi thing. Tiger balm. Put some on after being bitten , and it takes the sting away instantly. Also repels all others for hours afterwards. Way better than all those other expensive non functioning repellants. Give it a try.
