Thinking back, I'm still not sure what that was all about. They never asked me anything, they just did it. Anyways, the girl finally left and I got to relax. I scooped out the scene for a good 30 minutes and was pleased. The hot tub show was nice, the girls dancing on the poles were nice, the "edecanes" were cute, everything was legit. The clientele were much more "respectable" than most of the mongers I've seen at Adelitas. We walk out the club, she puts the robe on, and this douche bag bouncer tells me I have to pay a dollar. I ask him, "para que?" and he says some shit that I didn't understand. There were two cops standing right next to him. I was pissed, and didn't want to pay it, but again I didn't want to make a scene so I basically crumbled up a dollar and smacked it in his hand. What exactly was that for? If it was to put the robe on, that's BS, because the girl put it on by herself and the guy did nothing. Anyways, we go next door and the hotel clerk asks me to sign in on the clipboard. For anyone wondering, you'll see me under "Ron Mexico," I'm not a dog killer though. Michael Vick references FTL.

Upstairs, we get ready and she undresses. I take off my boxers and she starts freaking out. I'm a pretty skinny guy and I think most chicks expect me to have a small package. -Best mexican food hands down is in san diego and texas !
- More latin/indian women vs the DR which has a more african heritage..although you will see other type of mixes but not as many.

- You will need to negotiate a little harder for services although the DR can be just as bad depending on who you choose. There are more desperate women in the DR IMHO. You can get some good bargins
- If you are young looking maybe cops would be a problem or rather an annoyance. You can "let go" a little more in the DR. TJ is more watching your back.
_ Excellent shopping. You could take care of xmas gifts(leather) and still come out with money in your pocket.

I really like sosua but I've been avoiding it lately. Partly due to increased hotel prices but also "been there done that" and there isn't much for me that is affordable to do on my down time. The food gets very boring as well.

Travel to DR would require buying another ticket, plus a layover in Miami anyway due to poor connections from my home city. That actually sounds kind of doable, spend a couple days in Miami, then 4 or 5 in Sosua and back again.

Advantage of Tijuana is that it's just a short flight to San Diego, then just walk across the border to Zona Norte each day. Simple and sleazy!

I guess my choice comes down to just how decadent I want to be on this trip. Costa Rica, anyone?

If you are thinking about Costa Rica, I would suggest another hours flight and going on to Colombia.

I have been to CR about eight times in the past three years. Last year I went to MDE for the first time, and I will not be going back to CR in the near future. Not only are the women more beautiful in Colombia, but offer very passionate sessions, even with an old f*rt like me. The cost is also less after you have arrived. I have another trip to MDE scheduled in November.

I agree on staying on the Mexican side of the border for your trip. There are several decent, clean, safe hotels on Ave. Revolucion. With the current exchange rate they can be had for less than $30.00 per night. Most rooms on the you. S, . Side are at least $49.00 per night, and then you have to factor $10.00 for cab fares, time getting to and from, and through the linea.

Another option is the short time hotels that the clubs use. If they have space they will rent a room for about $35.00 per night.

If all you can do is "domestic" then your only options are one of the border towns. Pack very light and bring some rugged non descript clothing.

I strongly suggest you become a senior member for $20. That way people can communicate with you when you are there. You will find this very useful during your travels.

Kudos to Wooterz for his excellent report describing a recent visit to the Hong Kong Club.

I see that the patrons are still being subjected to multiple scams and hustles. I think these have increased as Zona Norte patronage has decreased in the wake of the punk economy on both sides of the border. When business was brisk the girls and staff made plenty of money in the usual ways. But now that times are tough they've turned to nickel-and-dime stuff like unwanted snacks and unbidden photos.

Granted, these tactics are nowhere near as bad as the stuff we used to see in Avenida Revolucion clip joints -- like failing to make honest change, pickpocketing and men trying to pass for women. And the savvy patron who reads the traffic here can easily avoid getting scammed. But it is annoying to see the hustle factor at the Hong Kong Club increasing. I think this is going to hurt them in the long run because it's going to scare off the less experienced clientele from north of the border.

Reading between the lines, I think the original poster is looking to use his expiring frequent flier miles to go on a simple holiday without spending a lot of extra money. So while I concede that international destinations have their charms, I suspect it would be more productive to answer the question that he put.

I reccommend the following: Book a flight to San Diego, which is apparently not that far from where the original poster lives. Then reserve a hotel room in Chula Vista, near the intersection of E Street and I-5. There are several to choose from. If he's on a budget the Motel 6 is serviceable and WAY nicer than most places in Tijuana that are recommended here. If he wants to spend a little more the Best Western South Bay and the Day's Inn are options. At the Best Western the king rooms on the second floor overlooking the pool are quite nice and represent a good value. If he's willing to spend the bucks for more amenities, the Comfort Inn & Suites offers king rooms and king suites that are very nice.

If he's a professional road warrior who has some free car rental days coming this might be a good way to redeem them. If he'd rather economize by taking public transit he can easily take the bus from the airport to the trolley and get off at the stop right there next door to the Best Western. And of course going back and forth to the border on the trolley is silly simple. Just be sure to finish up in Tijuana in time to catch the last northbound departure.

As the the Zona Norte itself, right now it's a total buyer's market. If he's in the market for a trophy fuck, the hottest girls at the Adelita Bar or Hong Kong Club will all go for $60. Add in $12 for the room, $1 for the robe rental (HKC only) and $1 for the room cleaner's teep and you've banged a hottie for less than $75. I just don't see how he's going to beat that in Miami. Moreover, as I've previously posted these days it is possible to negotiate for bareback blowjobs. Even if you pay an extra $20 for this service, in my book that's still a pretty good value.

Finally there is the hassle factor. I realize this is highly personal. What some guys think of as a giant pain in the neck other guys gaff off as part of the holiday adventure. But in my view the plan I've outlined has a very low hassle factor. The San Diego weather will be perfect, the ground transfers will simple, and the lodging will be comfortable. So everything north of the border will be conducive to relaxation. (Which, after all, is the whole point of the trip.) South of the border the pay-for-play scene is totally above-board and a known quantity. Everything he needs to know can be found in the Brockton O'Toole FAQ hosted here on the ISG. So rather than trolling the sticky underground in Miami, risking disappointment or even arrest, he can get laid without fear in the Zona Norte.

To me, it's a no-brainer.

Excellent advice. The only thing I want to add is another $20(for drinks) or so on top of what you have already outlined. When I crunch numbers I add any expense that I might incur while I monger.

I don't make it to the Zona Norte nearly as often as I'd prefer. The original poster is trying to decide between Miami and Tijuana. I argued that the well-established, above-board commercial sex scene in Tijuana makes it more likely he'll find value in the standard session with a girl he finds in the Adelita Bar or Hong Kong Club. As for the risk of a poor session with a dud, that's always a problem in the pay-for-play arena. I would submit that the risk of a poor session is actually higher in a place like Miami where the scene is underground. Was just with this Jacklin. Great service. Did not ask for $ ahead of time. My only problem was her misconception of the exchange rate (in her favor).
