1.8 million doses are being given per day in the United States and is increasing. The rate was 1. 5 million per day the previous week. Currently, 13% of the population has already been given their first dose during a time where the pool of eligible recipients were limited to only elderly, at risk, and frontline workers. The pool of eligible recipients is being expanded as the weeks go by.

Previously, only hospitals and health departments were administering the vaccine. Now the retail pharmacies and private practice offices are administering them also.

While the previous administration did nothing to aid distribution, the current administration has been more proactive in his initial month in office tripling vaccination rates since taking office.
