The flight get you there LATER than the AVIANCA and leaves at a ridiculous hour when you leave, forcing you to leave MDE at 4am!

FOOD: This is what really pissed me off, BEFORE you would get pasta or chicken, NOW they gave me a cold shitty HAM and CHEESE sandwich, NO CHOICE And for the return for breakfast you used to get Eggs and sausage or pancakes NOW they give you a SHITTY COLD Colombian Turkey and Cheese.

NO Hot towel on AA.

NO FREE BEER, WINE or MIXED COCKTAIL on AA. ALL FREE on AVIANCA.

SORRY AA. You have lost a good customer and I will tell everybody I know not to fly you!

I was more happy before the Continental / United merge, but the "new United" is pretty damn good, and the prices are only slightly more than AA. But to me it is worth it.

I should say I am "Elite" status now, so I don't usually get the petty extra charges anymore. But this also says that I'm willing to rack up alot of miles with them.

I find Colombia quite expensive to fly in. However, the buses takes forever due to the distances and the quality of the roads. Therefore, although it's a lot more expensive by air, for the average traveller who might only be here for 1, 2 or 3 weeks you really should fly and avoid wasting time on a long bus journey.

OD[/QUOTE]I flew only one time after the continental / united merger and to was to Rio. Service was ok, but bad luck was the flight got delayed because of mechanical issues. Haven't flown united much be because their prices for international trips are expensive now.

Houston to Rio on continental in 2010 $930.

Most of them are fodder for us local musicians here.

If you do decide to proceed keep things cut and dried and very casual. If you see obvious chemistry on HER PART (your part does NOT count) you can take things further. Most girls honestly do not bang their clients. In general they are doing the webcam so they don't have to touch anybody.

The beaches in Boca Grande are nicer, but more crowded (I. E, more touts and beach peddlers). If you're in Boca Grande & staying in an apartment, there are two supermarkets where you can buy grocery. El Laquito is slightly further away from the centro area so the taxi cost might be more expensive, but it shouldn't be much.

I just found the inflation rates in Colombia: 5. 5/2007, 7/2008, 4.2/2009, 3.1/2010, 3.8/2011. The accumulative (compounded) inflation rate for the past five years is about 26 percent. Major cities should have higher inflation rates. To me, the increases in the prices of SWs and of Centro casas in the last five years are not out of line with the CPI increase. But the chica prices in both low and high end strip clubs and high end casas increased a lot more than general prices. It seems to me, they are increasing the price by 10-20 percent every year. Probably this is not because of the gringo influx, but because of the expansion of Colombian middle class.

With what you've provided, all I can offer is: you can be "on" the beach or not on (but damn close) in both. The biggest deciding factor should be the people factor, such as who will you be dealing with and trusting, along with the management, stability, security, policies, etc, of the building.
