BKK right now is very expensive and not much talent going around. Check the BKK reports for details. If you know it and have contacts established than it will probably be better for you. YMMMV and all that but I feel like, and just reading reports on both BKK and Patts; that Patts is the better destination at the moment. From a mongering perspective I can say definitively that BKK wasn't worth it for me. Gogo's having anywhere from single digit to 20 girls working on average and quoting 4 k ST and 7 k LT with only allowing LT negotiations towards the end of the night and "I need leave by 4 am" excuse from Si Lom and Cowboy all the way to Nana Plaza has gotten old. Even freelancers were quoting me 2. 5 k for st. Its been ridiculous. There are barely any bars open and Massage places seem to be the only place seeing any traction after the relaxing of restrictions. Yet again your YMMMV and good luck but that's just been my view point.

I return to Pattaya today, after an absence of 3 days.

Sadly Lese Majeste is far from archaic with several instances of prosecution in recent years. Using an IP not easily traceable is smart and makes it more difficult to catch a "culprit" but it wouldn't take a local Sherlock Holmes to track down a foreigner living in Pattaya / Jomtien who frequently uses social media and ISG with references on what he might look like and where he frequents.

I'm too old and too long in the tooth to get excited about very much these days which happily comes along with a calmness of mind and body that would make a trappiest monk envious.

Mentioning the possibility of repercussions for certain types of behavior in the kingdom was meant to help not criticize but seems like there are some very fragile egos amongst our right honorable members.

Have you never used a VPN?[/QUOTE]I just wanted to point out again that prostitution is not illegal in Thailand. There is nothing in the Thai Criminal Penal Code that states so or forbids it.

There is no Thai law that forbids anyone over the age of 18 from accepting money in exchange for sex. There is no Thai law that forbids anyone from offering and paying someone money in exchange for sex as long as the provider is over the age of 18 and has not been forced or coerced into engaging in the behavior.

However, there are prostitution-related laws in the Thai Criminal Penal Code forbidding non providers from living off the proceeds of someone engaged in prostitution (thereby suggesting coercion to engage in it by mom, dad, husband, a boyfriend, a pimp, an employer or whoever else might be living off such proceeds earned by another person), publicly flaunting it to the point of embarrassing conservative Thais or creating a nuisance for nearby businesses and so on.

When hookers on the stroll are rounded up by the police or bars are raided to take proprietors into custody, it is really about those latter factors or, more often, the hookers being under 18 or not having a valid visa.

The reason customers are not rounded up and arrested for engaging in prostitution as long as the provider is over 18 or has not been forced into it by the customer in those cases is because, again, there is no Thai law forbidding it or on which to charge the customers.
