Gentlemen,
I am about to start a business in Colombia and I'm looking for someone who can handle the whole company formation procedure.
Was wondering if any of you forum members with experience in this matter can suggest someone and / or a studio in particular.
Any help is appreciated.

And it is a good thing having these guys around to chat during 'downtime'. You might see me in Mayo on your next trip.

Cheers.[/QUOTE]Easy Ez, I meant the gringo compound in Poblado. My next trip to Medellin I will stay in EC and LM and maybe 1 or 2 nights in Ploblado to say hi to Boyd. I really like Boyd he makes the whole CB thing good. He's helpful, informative and generally an easy going good guy.
When I get there in Sept. (I hope) , It would be great to meet some gringos in the EC or LM. Hell yea. 1st and 2nd beers on me, haha But for now I need to "not dwell" on Medellin and continue my pursuit of speaking espanol. I started in Jan. 2011 and I am doing ok, I am confident I will have enough by September. Thanks to all for the great info and laughs.

I'm thinking about going to Colombia for the first time around end of August. I'd like some feedback and suggestions as to which city would you Colombian experts advise for a first timer? I do speak basic Spanish and I'm in my early 30's and in decent shape. I'd like a city where I can get a good mix between non pros and prepagos. I'm all ears guys and very grateful to your guidance.

The beach, the casino, the old city, LDV, el central, etc.
Fly to Medellin on Monday and stay the rest of the week there. I'd recommend the Castillo for a first timer, so you're not spinning your wheels upon arrival. The staff and other guests will get ya going.
If you only want one city to visit, well then go to Medellin.

I have been going to Medellin for the last 6-7 years now and I will also be there mid to end of August. Much like you I know only basic spanish and in my early 30s. Send me a PM sometime.
Visa requirements will be eliminated for citizens of Pacific Alliance nations traveling to each other's countries, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced Wednesday.
"[We are] eliminating visas for citizens of member countries of the Pacific Alliance. That means that Colombians are not going to have to have visas to travel to Chile or Peru or Mexico. That will be done in the coming months," Santos said at the end of the Fourth Summit of the Pacific Alliance, held this week in the Chilean city of Antofagasta.

A step forward for Colombia. Slowly other countries will accept Colombians as they continue to combat the narcos & Bandas.
Yo Gents, I've been to Medellin twice now and plan on returning soon (September) but I would also like to see Cartagena and experience that city. That said, I'm not the most experienced traveler when it comes to booking flights. Is it best to do a RT trip to MDE and then a short RT to CTG, finishing up in MDE. Or is it most common to do one way fares to MDE (for 6 days) one way to CTG (4 days) and then back home from CTG to LAX. I know a lot of guys here are very experienced travelers and I would like to get their opinions if possible. Hope it's not a dumb question. The short flight from MDE to CTG seems very high ($300 RT). I guess if I want to visit 2 cities (in Colombia) it will add almost $500 to the cost of travel I / e air and taxi. Any info and advice would be great.

Thanks[/QUOTE]That is very high, ctg-lax seems more sensible if there is a direct flight ctg-lax, buying in sdvance helps a lot, check al the colombian airlines, Aero republica, avianca, satena, copa, Aires, go too their sites and check availability, buying in advance, dates and times make all the difference also if you have a trusted friend with a colombian credit card who can buy you a ticket this makes a big difference as well to avoid the "gringo surcharge" some airlines charge you more if you use an american credit card as oppose to a colombian generated credit card (I know its real bullshit) , also you can walk in to a travel agent and pay effectivo "cash"

Thanks MHL and Hillbilly for your valuable help. I will check the other airlines and pull the trigger soon for my next trip. You guys made my day.

Viva is a brand new airline and their very first flight out of Bogota to Buca had to be diverted for not having clearance to land or some shit like that, you get what you pay for sometimes. I would love to be able to fly from one city to another in Colombia for less than $100. But every time a company tries to do it they fall flat on their face.
