1) Executive Plaza - Its good value for the money. Hotel location is A+. Very GF. When my friend checked into this Hotel and reached his room he got a phone call. A man was calling to see if he needed "company"! Apparently some one in the Hotel staff tips off these guys when they see a expat/foreigner checking in alone. However, I did not get this phone call when I stayed here....even though I was waiting for this call! ;)

2) Dress code - Business casual is good but I always wear jeans. I recommend you carry a good brand perfume like Polo or Nautica. If you apply the same perfume every time, it becomes your "signature". Girls always like guys who smell good.

3) Pimp or agent - once when I was walking from Executive Plaza to LA Cafe a Pimp stopped me. I was not interested so I kept walking. The next day he saw me again and started following me. Cafe Havana, in Greenbelt 3 is a hell of a lot more up market than LA, and most of the action is at the outside tables. Most of the people are casually dressed but reasonably well dressed. I was there again on Wednesday night, and noticed (again) that the guys seemed to be businessmen fresh off of a day's work. Sorry GG, can't help you at all there, as I've never been in the place. When I'm in the Malate/Ermita area I tend to stick to LA or G Point, which has become my favorite bar in the area. It's (my opinion only) much nicer than LA, with better bands and altogether more pleasant staff. Granted, it's much smaller, and is pretty much hit or miss on any given night, but given that it's only a 5 or 10 minute walk from LA, it's worth checking out.
