Aint this a *****!
The article below is very important especially for those of us of 'color' who would like to retire in the D. R. (like myself). We need to understand the color issue is still very prevalent in the D. R. Just like somebody mentioned before on the board, when you see an ad that says 'with good presence' that means if you are black. Stay back! But I wonder would Sammy Sosa(before bleaching) be banned from this bar bc he is BLACK(even tho he probably won't admit that) and he is probably one of the richest pple on the island.
Has any one of you been to this place?

"Santo Domingo.. Rua's Bar, a disco located in the heart of Dominican Republic's capital on Thursday defended its decision to bar homosexuals or blacks, stating that it serves "a demanding" and "elite" public which "decides whom to rub elbows with and whom not, " news source clavedigital.com reports.
On facebook Rua's manager Manuel Tomas Diaz apologized to the black people and homosexuals who were kept from entering the disco last week. "We, as all businesses and families, only have our own rules. "
"Rua's reserves the right to admission, it's a right which bars have to decide who can and who cannot enter, our public is demanding and elite and decides whom to rub elbows with and whom not, " he said.
"Without wishing to generalize we've had regrettable spectacle of homosexual couples kissing in the middle of the bar, something which for many is normal, but disagreeable for others. For that reason I gain repeat, we reserve the right o admission, " added Rua's executive.
"A cozy atmosphere, good music, excellent service and more, " says the manager of the disco, located in the capital's upscale Naco sector. "We maintain these offers thanks to our customers, who as well as demand good presence, good manners and other rules, and from us demand an healthy, moderate and appropriate ambience to share with their friendships. "

The trannies can be found on Ave Ortega y Gasset and Ave. St Vincent de Paul.
No they did NOT. I guess carrying a pocketbook wasn't enough. I should have worn my tighter jeans cuz a few extra bucks would have come in handy. LOL
O! Jaosousa: The Bar on Pasteure 56 is "PIANO HOUSE" not "PIANO BAR"...Lots of Peurto Ricans like more than a third and no Hatians.
Small little place on the left hand side of Pasteur when walking up from Independencia?
I tried to find that bar one Saturday afternoon with Greek Niko and Thirdcoast. I know there is a small bar right before what looks like a restaurant on the corner, on pasteur and the next cross street after independencia, the place looked closed the times I walked by it in the afternoon, I never searched for it at night.
I remember the photos BQ Ribs posted of the place. Boricua Online will look for it next week.
I remembered your posts about that place and is why I went looking for it.

I have never been in that place and from my contacts in SDQ it is not a popular place. Seems it is a sick publicity stunt by the owner to try and drum up business. Supposedly the owner is dark skin Dominican.
The article below is very important especially for those of us of 'color' who would like to retire in the D. R. (like myself).
Unfortunately racism exists, in just about every place on this planet.
I have never been to that bar and I never heard of it before reading that article.
I have met and hung with several African American guys from this board and we never had a problem entering any bar. One SDQ newbie from this board, I showed him around SDQ one night. African American guy from Atlanta, I believe. The guy had dreadlocks when I met him. The night we hung out, he was wearing a t shirt and piece of material was on his head, where his dreds were tucked into, like a hat.
We went to Coppa Discoteca and he got in no problem.
On another trip I traveled with a light skin Dominican guy, I know from New York. We went to L. E. D. Discoteca one night and the dark skin Dominican bouncers there would not let my Dominican friend enter right away.
If I want to be around snobby white folks, I can stay in New York. If a bar or disco wants to only to cater to light skin rich folks, more than likely that bar will be boring and no fun. I went to Praia bar with Koki from this board and my Dominican friend from New York. Praia was populated with mostly light skinned rich young Dominicans, it was boring as hell, I wouldn't go back.
David Ortiz the baseball player opened a bar in SDQ called 40-40 (Jay-Z is not happy that Ortiz is using that name for his bar).
Plenty of bars and discotecas, where the color of person's skin, is not important in DR.
There are always a few bad apples or misguided people in every country.

Yep, thats it. Small ass bar big ass Bar counter in the room leaving no space. More girls than rooms. Two/Three rooms on the left and 8 girls in the foyer to the right as you enter. It always looks closed and generally has the 2 girl special for 1500/2000 DOP little shoe shine kid walked me there and just opened the door when I thought it was closed. #809-772-0412.

Yes. Twice! Black means Haitian. American Blacks freely admitted! Dont think in terms of skin tone. Think Hatian vs wanna be Spanish decent in a country where the slaves and spanish fugeed an indian population into extinction and then started in on each other fuggin. Where you have people darker than you with corser hair claiming Dominican. No-Homo is a joke until they are admitted and start kissing in the middle of the floor. How can they tell? Its like Dont ask Dont Tell.

I read on BizarreSex.info a report about a trannie walking on Independencia with a bag in one hand and a ham and cheese sandwich in other. He/she was also wearing a pink balloon made hat.
I,ll be in SDQ in 4 days and plan to walk the area, to visit 56, 305, Satin, Girls H., it is highly probable that I am not to pick a girl from these places, but alcohol made us take decisions with the other head.
Funny you mention that, because I had trouble finding Bq at Pacos in the middle of the day. I stood confused at the side of the bar asking on my cell phone where he was as he was sitting down next to me looking at me talk to him the whole time.
The same happened to me the day I met BQRibs outside Riazor. He was looking at me and I though he was to offer me to go to the casas "a conocer las chicas mas lindas del pais" (to meet the most beautiful girls of the country).
Did he drive away in a lime green clown car?
His car has a 100 pound gas tank on rooftop to fuel it, that way National Police is always going to think that he is a local. :P
BQ, he is a good guy, this bellaco guy makes happy a few people everytime he visits the country.
Did he drive away in a lime green clown car?
You are good, I had forgotten about the lime green chevy spark.
I drove a white chevy spark to Samana and playa rincon, not a bad little rental car (at least when they were new).
