As far cases being under reported, I think it's more a matter of the Countries you mentioned having the capability to test for the virus in great numbers which the USA can't seem to do, but you also have to consider the following.

You mentioned the Philippines and Indonesia, what about Africa and India. Perhaps this virus is like the flu in some ways as we know it, all of the hard hit Countries thus far have been places that are cold in the Winter, and the Southern Hemisphere is next. Maybe Countries close to the Equator will be less effected. I hope so.

There are many countries that were once far behind the US but because of technological leapfrogging, are now far superior the US. It's an objective fact that many places in Asia have accomplished this. I am surprised by how clean, modern and functional Medellin is. I am amazed at the quality of the architecture, construction and interior design I see on tons of Airbnb's here. The quality and standard of life is quite high, at least in the developed areas of Poblado, Laureles etc. Not to mention that everything Sjobs listed is true and a fraction of the cost of what those same services would be in the US and they work better and faster.

At this point, everywhere except South Korea and potentially Italy are under-reporting to a level we can't really fathom. After that one case in Washington, it was determined by the variant and timeline of that individual, that there are most likely thousands of undetected cases, that was 7-10 days ago. The US has had ridiculously stringent testing requirements to even quality for your sample to go to a lab, many Dr's requested testing and were denied all over the country. Then, when a sample did qualify, it turns out the tests were defective and we are just sending out functional test kits now, over a month later. The US has handled this horribly from the start.

Now we have medical professionals, nurses, ER Dr's saying they literally have 2 boxes of face masks for their entire hospital staff because of shortages and over purchasing by the public, in addition to Asia stopping all export of masks. So the US had 2 months time to prepare and stock supplies since the Wuhan outbreak and didn't and now they do not have even the most basic of items they need to keep their staff from being infected. So to compound the issue, once you have healthcare professionals falling ill for 3-4 weeks, you can see where this goes and it isn't pretty.

In answers to your questions, and I don't completely understand question # 1 in regards to Cali in Colombia or California, but I believe your correct that it might be easier to catch the virus in Medellin versus Cali in Colombia as there are less tourists there than here. And in fact, probably the most dangerous part of Medellin to getting exposed to the virus at least for know until there is community spread would be in El Poblado versus an Estrata 1 barrio in Bello where there are no foreigners.

As far the girls your doing, my bet at least in Medellin the El Centro girls who primarily do locals, versus the FayBoo girls who have lots of foreigners are going to be a safer bet for the time being.

As far as local healthcare providers being able to handle the virus in Colombia. I think if it's just a very limited amount they will be able to handle it, but if it's on the scale of some of the other hard hit Countries it will be a total disaster.

As far as food goes, who knows. If your have a place to hunker down, it would probably best to stock up on supplies to supplement what might not be available.

It has been established that there are at least 2 strains of it in circulation. The strain from Italy / Iran has proven to be more potent on all aspects in comparison to the South Korea cases. For example, The Jewish Doctor from Westchester NY. About 22 people in his life that has ever lay eyes on this man in the past couple of weeks is not infected with Covid-19. That is a far more explosive transmission rate compared to the seasonal flu. People also fail to realize that we have no proactive treatment for this new virus unlike what its like to combat the seasonal flu. There will be no Thera-Flu to drink nor any Tamiflu pills to pop, the only treatment for these cases are what they call supportive treatment. Essentially, helping you through the storm as your body fights it off (or not).

The current US testing capability is also worst in the western world. The population spreading it asymptomatically might never been able to know if they are indeed a spreader as we aren't even allow to get tested unless you are well on your way to die. There are currently 500 cases and 22 deaths, quickly approaching the CDC's worldwide observed rate of death. This virus is far more aggressive than the seasonal flu, the who really needs to start giving advice based on region and strain.

If you mean that you have to say that the US is the best in the world at everything be my guest. But that isn't patriotism. It's just plain wrong.

The danger with the US as far as Covid-19 is that once it gets into the stage of "community transmission" which I believe it already has. The reluctance and inability of many people to get medical help is real. In other words, if you do not have adequate insurance, or your co-pays are too high, or you are poor. You are not going to go to get checked for what seems like a cold or the flu. Hence a rapid spread of the virus. In other countries with better health care this will be far less likely. Hopefully.

And there is a faint hope that this virus is a bit like flu. It doesn't survive well on surfaces when humidity and temperatures are higher. As in tropical countries. And the global south in general. BTW, there was a place in Santa Fe mall that had poutine. Not sure if it's still on the menu or not. Up in the food court. It's a place that just sells potato dishes. Never tried it, but was amazed to see it in Colombia.

Possibly the biggest issue with the US is no paid sick days and no job protection. Too many people don't have the option of staying home when they are sick. Not only will they not get paid, but they'll almost certainly be fired. This applies to almost the entire food service and hospitality industry.

Forget about that $40 copay. Forget about that $3,000 test, which nobody will say who is going to pay. Instead think about the single mother who can't afford to miss a single day of work, let alone 2-3 weeks. Think about the parents who have to send their kids to school, because they can't afford childcare. Think about all the employees who have been told they will lose their jobs if they don't show up. Now enjoy your Happy Meal.

On a mongering note, I think I've found an Airbnb which will work perfectly for me. Just waiting to hear back from the host. It's off the beaten path, down at the south end of Poblado, right around the corner from where I used to live. It's convenient to the metro if I'm going to Laureles or El Centro and right on Avenida Poblado, which means I can always grab a bus to Parque Lleras. Big food court literally steps from the elevator, plus walking distance to some good restaurants in Envigado. Also Euro and Carulla grocery stores plus 3 pharmacies right there.

Now if the host will just get back to me.

I have had them work on my Mac--sometimes it takes time to get the parts--but they are full service like in the US. Or at least used to be as of 2017 when I last used them.

Wow, really nice job with the report. Thanks for this. FYI the names of casas change pretty often, it's best to go with the street addresses and the name or just the street addresses. Zandaly, New Life, and Aiffe are some of the few that haven't changed names in years.

What tends to happen is with experience your expectations change. We become more demanding. It's not so unusual for a photogenic girl to not be so hot from the neck down and to also be high maintenance. It's all good, you will have more and more fun. I know I love reading these reports.

I don't share your opinion on some items, even if we take only Poblado and Laureles. We can meet in Laureles and I will give you a little tour. You will see trash, people living (sleeping, cooking and doing all the necessities) in unsanitary conditions etc. I guess you haven't been walking around here much or was with a stunning chica and couldn't take your eyes off her.

Regarding the internet, yes, as far as I know, the LTE coverage is pretty good in Laureles and Poblado. What about home internet? So far, I had mostly okay to bad experience. It is pretty bad in the evenings, when locals are back from work. And I mean really bad, sometimes bellow 1 mbps. My cell phone gives me much better speed. Even during the day, speeds often are below 20 mbps. This is pretty horrible by today's standards.

I've only been in Laureles for brief periods but didn't see that. I've walked all around Poblado from Monterey Mall beyond Provenza, from Blux, down to Parque La Presidenta. I haven't seen anything like you mention. I still think the quality of life and value one receives here is VERY high for the dollars spent. I'm actually shocked how little I am spending and I know it could be done for even less if I tried.

The wifi at my Airbnb has been solid for over two weeks now, no issues. I can do everything I need, stream Netflix etc, never had a problem. I think it depends on the building and what the landlord pays for.

I rather negotiate more time and have them leave early rather than want them to stay longer and they are trying to be out as soon as possible when those 2 pops are up. Last night was the only chica that stuck to the time other than photoprepagos girls which just suck in every aspect.

Every other chica has completely forgotten about the time. If you see the other reports, one wanted 3 hours max, stayed 5. One wanted 1 hour max, stayed 3, etc. They seem to want to agree to that so that they can go if they want to. Another I am seeing this week said if she is enjoying herself, she will stay longer but that her deal is 1 pop, 1 hour, 250 k. If I wanted 2 pops, it was 500 k. I negotiated that to 3 hours, 2 pops, 300 k plus taxi, but it took a couple of days of chatting and taking other dates before hers, and finally she came down closer to where I wanted to be.

The problem with ONLY agreeing to 2 pops is that they try to rush to get those 2 pops in as fast as possible. I have all night, I'm not doing anything else, so for me. I rather have sex, order food or cook, chat, share drinks, get to know them a little, practice spanish and then go for round 2 rather than back to back.

Initially, they want to spend less time (via text) but once they are here, they are down to hang out and spend more time. My speaking decent Spanish definitely helps. This is an assumption but because we have spent more time together and now are more comfortable with each other, rather than a fast 1 hour encounter, literally every FB chica I've seen texts me every other day asking how I am, when can we hang out again, if I am still in Medellin. I have said I am really busy and even the ones who were a bit more expensive have come down in price to meet again.

The short answer is I believe it is in my favor to add a time agreement far more than the one or two times it has not. As I said, its also a filter, because the girls who say 1 hour only, I don't meet with. I know that I will not enjoy my time with a clockwatcher.
