Bangkok Reports

Just finished five days in BKK after three or so in Pattaya. In a nutshell, I can say that I've ensured that Kasalong will remain in business for some time to come and that gallons of Coke don't make bar girls look any better.

The second part first. I roamed Nana and / or Cowboy each night with vague intentions of a bar fine, though as usual I never followed through. There were certainly candidates, but I just couldn't get interested enough given that Kasalong was just two blocks from my hotel (this also explains the visits to Nana, which is not one of my usual haunts).

At Cowboy Sharks had some cuties, though with too much clothing. As others have said, supposedly one of the great things about plucking from go-gos is that one should know what one is getting. Still, their cuties were good enough for me to gamble on, betting that when everything came off saggy boobs, stretch marks, or dicks wouldn't come tumbling out.

For me Baccara was as usual top of the line in looks (recall that looks are subjective), but I just go there for the window shopping. My admittedly few experiences with their girls, even just buying LD's, have not been good. Waiting for someone a little more Japanese, I think.

Suzy Wong was pretty bad. As it is nude the good was that you could definitely see what you'd be renting. The bad was that you could definitely see what you'd be renting.

I tried Crazy House twice hoping it would live up to my memories and Syzygies' reports. Maybe I chose the wrong nights. Both times I got there around 8 PM and stayed for an hour to see what new blood arrived. Several had great potential as they walked in but, again, when the clothes came off the disappointment was crushing. Not a lot of uglies, just nothing great. On the second night my opinion might have been tarnished a bit by two guys, one bald, the other dressed like he chose from the bargain racks at a trailer park yard sale, molesting a dancer both on stage and even more so off stage.

Am I some sort of Puritan morals campaigner? Hardly! The problem was she was so horrific looking that the idea that fellow males, even near-comatose drunks, would find her appealing was degrading to the male gender in general, including rodents but particularly humans. Kind of like when the president of one of the most powerful nations on earth was found to be banging (or not) a chubby intern. The shame!

The object of their affections sported an array of studs around her mouth that made my privates wince, and my privates have seen some shit (see "Kasalong", above). I can only imagine that a blow job would be like copulating with a porcupine. To think I could have waited to meet her and not been banned from the city zoo for that!

Perhaps the cutest thing there both nights was one of the waitresses, but there is again the clothes problem. Speaking of wait staff, I found it vaguely disturbing that one of them remembered me from maybe three visits half a year or more ago. The kind of tiny one with a ponytail who seems to work the area to the left as one fights one's way through the damned curtain at the door. Why do these people remember me? A girl at the Black Pearl BJ bar in Angeles remembered me three years later, by name and home state. I know I'm no Brad Pitt, so I can only assume the other extreme.

I hit a few other Cowboy venues, e. G. , Dollhouse, Tilac, and I think it was Long Gun (nudes), but didn't tarry long enough to give them a real evaluation. Saw a couple of potentials at the Dollhouse but had to get to Terminal 21 before 10 PM and never made it back. Might be worth a look.

At Nana I hit Bangkok Bunnies, Erotica, Jail Birdz, Billboard and I think Mandarin (to the right of the escalator as one steps off). Erotica and Jail Birdz were busts, though I believe the latter just reopened after some troubles so it may ramp back up to respectability. Billboard had some candy, but mainly on the rotating stage where too much is left to the imagination. The tub girls seemed more average. It also featured an incredibly annoying mamasan, in case you're looking for one of those.

Bangkok Bunnies is now half of its former self: The right hand stage is unused as is the seating in that area. Of course, since this is Thailand, the associated bar IS operational and that seemed to be where the dancers were required to go get their LD's, so the round trip could stretch into days. There were several quite doable girls there and I, of course, ended up buying LD's for someone other than them. I have an excuse, though. The sweet lass plopped down beside me and after the required-by-law preliminaries about where I was from, how long was I in Bangkok, had I ever done a porcupine, etc. , she noted that I was oozing sweat towards her. Rather than flee she suggested an awesome spot where half the air conditioners and fans ever made concentrated their efforts. That was definitely worth a couple LD's. But there was that ugly thing about maybe a bar fine. She did have a nice face and certainly didn't have sagging tits one would first have to have tits for them to sag so I decided to buy time and told her I would be back the next night. I was. She wasn't there. Whoohoo! Off the hook!

So if I wasn't sharing my precious bodily fluids with bar girls, where was it going? As you could probably guess by the opening of this report, the Kasalong girls were far from dehydrated during my stay. It was a nightly ritual and a very good one until the last visit. The last night, as it was the holiday, I didn't really know what to expect. I verified the night before that Kasalong would be open but also had Plan A. I was going to try the escort scene. I'll delve into that in a report in that thread. Suffice it to say that things went quite well, as they should for that kind of money.

So overall a pretty good time. Hot girls in certain venues, good blow jobs in another. Who could ask for more? So, the first evening / night at my hotel was a downer. AC not working well enough (I like it cold) and water leak from bathroom sink, wifi problems, LOL. This took several visits from engineering and it was not until late evening I reported these water and AC issues. Hotel on Soi 23 right around the street from Soi Cowboy (about 5 min walk max). So, with things not fully fixed but with wifi good (they installed an in room router to boost the signal) I left around 1230 at night and told them I would be gone for 3 hours and they better have things fixed by the time get back.

So, I head out to Soi Cowboy on Friday just to check because I thought things would open up around midnight after the Buddha holiday curfew. Well, I head out to Bangkok Beat via taxi and I am surprised at how different it looked in real life and where it was located, but anyway the guys at the entrance seem nice and I enter. IMO, the place is a frickin dump. I stay just 1-2 minutes to survey the place and the few girls who are there (all 5's and under IMO) and I leave without buying a drink.

Head over to Soi 11 where things looked better, I had walked by there in the late afternoon, but somehow I missed Levels this time around and came up to The Sugar Club and saw it was active. 200 baht to enter (one beer or non brand mixed drink incl) and the place was packed. But, soon I discover (maybe because of the Buddha holiday?) it's packed with an extreme hip hop bunch of people (like NYC and even Classicos in Sosua), 2/3 men, and 1/3 girls, with the girls being mostly white chicks American, Euro AUS / NZ and Russia / CIS (yeah). Thai girls maybe 10 PC of the entire population there and they were mostly in groups (friend, coworkers and with their farang colleagues). Nevertheless, I am beginning to enjoy the music and the ambiance and I have a good time dancing / grooving until 515 am and then just head back home, because I had pretty tapped out by my massage girl from earlier in the am, until 1130 am in Pattaya. Drinks are expensive at Sugar (250 baht for brand name drinks) , and I probably spend 2000 baht there just on myself! But, it I was ok with that.

So, sleep in pretty late and now they upgrade me to a room with a nice balcony and bigger sq ft. And everything is working fine but with my same in roomwifi booster. Getting to head out late Sat night, and get a ding on my iPad and I have to spend an hour resolving some urgent family matter. And now I head out but my frame of mind is down from the incident (which in the overall scheme of things is not a biggie but I was frustrated by it anyway). So, I head out to The Italian Restaurant (the big one on Sukhumvit and Soi 23 intersection) and have a nice Fettucine Carbonara and it's like $9. Wifi there is good and I am finishing up the other family stuff.

Walk over now and see all these small sidewalk mobile bars around from Soi Cowboy (I did check out Crazy House, some beautiful girls no doubt) but by now it's 1 am and the guy to girl ratio in there is at least 3 to and 1 and I spot Japanese, and other tourist know I'd be wasting my time with such a ratio and with it having been closed the previous night.

But, I am curious about the girls in the sidewalk mobile bars and see some girls that are not too shabby. So, I walk back and girth and there's many trying to get me to come visit with them. After going back and forth this one girl, quite cute actually, starts talking to me and after about 5-10 minutes of her propositioning me for 1,500 (saying she will do everything) I am actually now getting interested. I don't feel like I can score anything good due to the competition. Still I enjoy and hang around until 5 am. Some serious tourist money floating around tonight. Sugar Club sells these packages of multiple bottles and mixers for 10000 baht and up, and one European guy and his dad are on this sofa with 3 Vodka bottles ( the dad sees me, Stands up says hi In broken English and hands me an almost full (like 90 PC) and says they have too many bottles. This cabbie wants to take me to a dive bar that very few know. Ok, I go along and arrive at this dive 2-3 story bar, (lower level closes after 4) and action moves up until 8 am, I am told. Francis is the owner / manager and the bartender lady is super great, classy and speaks good English. See a couple of American guys with suits and wedding rings partying and wonder how in the world they got to the dive place. Let me guess: their cabby. Mine also tried to sell me the little blue pills. Anyway, I'm like do I even want to be here. Until I see about 3 of the 15 girls who are kinda cute. One in pony tails (25) from Isaan (may have Japanese blood and has young Japanese features and slim body but she is playing a game on her phone, sitting at the little bar there but seems uninterested in me. Francis tells me I can take any girl there to my hotel for ST 3 K, or LT 4 K. I negotiate and agree on 2. 5 K LT and a mixed drink there costs me 200 baht which is suprising. Haven 123, I just read your report and had to be amused with several of your comparisons. When you travel to disparate locations, even in the same country, there are are always some mental adjustments required.

For example, I don't go to Bangkok Beat because of the ambience of the place. In the end, its a rock and roll bar a la Spanky's or a roadside joint in the US one might find in the southern US. That's part of the charm for the place, at least for me, as this contributes a less pretentious attitude exhibited by the patrons. And as far as the girl quality, your mileage will vary on any given night anywhere in Bangkok particularly if you don't stay very long. BBeat usually gets going around midnight and last night there were some attractive girls in there. However, if they don't see what they are looking for, they move on too. I sat at a table with several beautiful girls who decided to go to another club. I was having some stomach distress last night so opted out of horizontal activities.

I agree that Friday in BBeat was particularly bad for girls, especially quality, but that might have to do with the holiday falling on the weekend as many of the girls are from Issan and other areas in then country and left to see their family or did not go out at all as the holiday can be a bit of a downer when it eliminates imbibing for half of the evening.

Your take on Sugar Club is pretty accurate. I found too many faring women in there on my one visit. I know that's a non-starter for me and as an older guy, I have a slim to none chance of picking up a farang woman. I am also suspicious of being in a club until 6 am. I go to a club to pick up girls as efficiently and in a timely manner, as possible. I don't go to dance the night away until the wee hours, drop 2 k baht drinking (better used for the girls fee), and find myself (if I am lucky) with a girl at 5 am who passes out in my bed or throws up in my bathroom.

Levels has a strict dress code and once I was denied entry for wearing open toed sandals. It seems pretentious to me as well due perhaps to the its connection to the fancy hotel. Same holds true for Oskars across the street. As far as the alcocart girls, I just smell bad service from this group. Just this week, I was chatting up a girl who wanted 2 k plus a 500 BF for short term. I could have prob tried to negotiate her price but when she told me it was 5 k for long term, I passed in total.

So my overall point is that you are not going to capture Bangkok (in your heart) in a short weekend. It's a much more complex city than Pattaya and it takes time to figure out which venues and locations suits you best. Last night, for example, I was sitting outside BBeat around 2:30 am. A girl sat down next to me who I recalled seeing in there several days ago, but not really my type, at least the prior evening. Turns out she is a real businesswomen on a trip from the provinces and leaving at 6 am this morning for a flight to the north -- she showed me the flight schedule on her phone. I thought for one glorious moment I had stumbled on a freebie. She was fluent in English and we chatted on a variety of subjects. After several minutes! I asked her to come to my apartment, which she declined thereby confirming her non P4 P status. Still we had a nice conversation and she even recalled seeing me few months ago at a coffee shop on Soi 11. We made an informal agreement to meet next Saturday at the Beat, after she declined my second offer to kill some time at my apartment, 555. She said 'well, you are just going to fuck me there' confirming she has a sense of humor too. Of course, that situation does not happen generally to a tourist but it's this type of encounter I love about Bangkok. Anything can happen on any given day as long as you remain friendly and open and maintain a certain bit of caution.

The advantage, of course, is if you live here you don't have to treat every night as a night in which you need to find someone to justify ones lengthy and expensive trip. But in the end, as a tourist, each hour though is precious and is sometimes wasted on foolish pursuits going up blind alleys so to speak. It appeared this happened to you particularly ending up at that suspect club at the end of your night with an even more suspect arrangement with that girl. That was almost getting into Hangover 2 territory and shows the potential pitfalls of traveling solo. Remember. Your not in Kansas anymore!

1. I so totally enjoy drinking and dancing in good, hot clubs all over the world. It makes me happy. Yeah, I spent 4000 baht, maybe more in 2 nights at the Sugar Club, BUT it made very happy during the time I was there. Only a stick up with by a teenager in downtown Curitiba and a drugging vis something in booze that a girl was kissing me with and shooting her drink into my mouth on the dance floor in Fortaleza. So, I've been lucky and totally willing to take risks for the sake of adventure like getting into a cage with a very huge tiger with my arm on it take a picture at the Sriracha tiger zoo about 2 weeks ago. In Sao Paulo Brazil this Jan/ Feb, I partied almost every night until 5 am in a dance bar and went to Love Story after that until 8 am sooo many times in the heart of downtown Sao Paulo.

So, I'm down for the adventure and love that type of risk.

3. There was no major problem with the arrangement from that private dive bar. If the girl had just stayed and been good she would have for sure made more than when she tried to hustle me. I always underpromise and overdeliver. I just close things out pronto when I feel there are trust issues on a deal. One girl in Pattaya agreed to 1500 LT and she was the best and super GFE. She stayed with me for several days and nights. I went shopping with her, bought her stuff to wear to go out with me etc and had zero problem dropping 2k on just that. She never ever looked at anything I gave her , and I gave her about 15 k in total over 4 days and spent another 3k just on drinks and food with her. So, for me, I always start out low and see where things go....and the ones who never being up money or time and are total GFE I am very generous with them not just with money but also my heart ( during the time I am with them 100 PC attention ). And, I won't be seeing or talking with that girl again until I return next, by which time she might have ( and should have) a farang BF. I don't have her FB or any other info and I do that on purpose .....

Now, as far the Alocarts (did not know that name so thanks) I think I may just check them out again and sit and have a drink this time (but not more) because it just seems low risk adventurous fun that I may not get to do again for a while and try to chat with some of those girls. LOL. I have not seen anything of this style / quality and density in Pattaya and these are surely trying to feed off Soi Cowboy.

I am a bit surprised to hear about the overwhelming Falang / Thai girl ratio at Sugar. There were some farangs there when I was tehre in December, but it was mostly Thai with a lot of cute younger girls that liked hip hop. Maybe the ratio on the weekdays will be better? That's when I went.

Yesterday went to Suckers in Nana somewhat by accident.

Firstly went to Mercury bar, to catch up with gogo girl Noi known for several years with super ass. Also to recheck on 2 or 3 good looking Coyotes, a tall slim one called Palm in particular. I had a drink outside with Min and Oom. Chemistry with Min did not exactly build in the circumstances.
