I've been to both the silver and gold salons; there doesn't appear any particular difference, the silver is maybe a bit nicer, has more girls, it's also in a more commercial location (just off vaci utca).

I just came back from Hungary and wanted to share a couple of pointers.

Uber: this is the first country in Europe that they voted out Uber. So you are SOL unfortunately if your are an Uber user.

As far as taxis go be careful. If you use a taxi make sure it has a company DECAL on the front door of the taxi. I. E passenger and driver's side.

Warning: Beware of taxis that have no company decals on their door. Their meters run faster than the regular taxis. From 1 September 2013 a new Taxi Decree was introduced in Budapest and regulating the price of the taxis at a fixed tariff of 280 HUF / Km (0.95 EUR / Km) in addition to the one-off basic fee of 450 HUF (1.50 EUR) and waiting fee. However, there are still a number of taxis that don't follow this rule. The taxi you want to take is the one that has their company logo on the door. The "bad one" has a plain yellow door on the front. They all have phone numbers on the back door, it's the company decal that you are looking for E. G. City Taxi, Domino Taxi, 6 x 6 Taxi etc. On the front door.

I visited about 5-6 girls in their homes but I also speak Hungarian.

I found that by and large most of them never look like the picture that is shown on the net. I am sure that that is them but they have been photoshoped and most of the time the face is not visible.

They are safe, you can leave your stuff in the room and I never had any issues. Be sure you pay at least 15000 for a home visit as some of the cheaper ones may not be as reliable or I have been told that's when you wallet takes a hike.

I used the ATM at the airport and received a 27.91 huf for $1.

Taxi ride to the center was 7500 huf.

I would say 90 percent of the girls picked up the phone and they were okay with texting me addresses. I do not think you need a Hungarian sim card for two days. It would be better.

I can't comment on Szofi she has good reviews so she should be safebet and not waste of time and money, but I visited Detty little while a ago in their previous apartment and absolutely don't recommend her to anyone, so boring and mechanical and no touch me attitude that she is wrong business. Yes, there are hotties who can afford to refuse clients they do not like & yes they can do just fine with only 2 guys per day. However, not all girls are the same & this does not automatically means all girls will say no to senior citizens.
