Looked at the website but didn't mention where this hotel was located. Any ideas if this is near Fields or way out in the boondocks?
Hi Guys
I have never been to AC but maybe going to try it out this summer, Travelled many times to Bkk Pattaya & Phuket any of you been to Thailand & AC and which do you prefer and why
Thanks
If you spend some time reading both Thailand and Philippine forums you will find out which guys divide their time between the two countries.
If you like doing things outside of mongering then stick to Thailand, if mongering is all you want to do then by all means visit AC. Just don't compare Thailand to AC.

Compare AC with the rest of the Philippines? Dont think so.
By all means there are lot of things to see and do in the rest
of the country.

Yes there are plenty of things to do in the rest of the country but the original poster wanted to compare AC to Thailand. Not Thailand to Philippines. I spend more time in Thailand than Philippines and when I am in Philippines it is normally only for a week in AC. Same again this year.
I will be in AC starting Thursday, Feb. 12 until March 10. Is there anybody out there wanting to get a drink or go on a barhop together? Send me a message and we can exchange contact info. I read this forum all the time but have never taken the opportunity to actually meet any other members in person. I am from the USA and this will be my fourth time in AC.
Thanks!
The system said you are unable to receive messages so I have noway to contact you.
I will arrive Angeles Feb 24. Will stay a few days then off to cebu and Dumaguete to track down a few online cuties.
Bangkok - Clark flight arrives about 8:30 pm
A friend took same flight and had trouble getting taxi.
Can someone advise best way and price from airport to a fields Ave hotel at this time
Hi,
How about personal safety too?
I read somewhere that one can get attacked from behing in AC!
IN Thailand (Pattaya) too there are too much crimes against foreigners.
That means even if one tries to play it safe there is no guarantee.
Tell us if I am wrong!

Never had any problems with such attacks on turists or heard about them.
I think its the scams and setups thats really are the problem here.
The "Hello my friend" thing thats makes people unsure on how to behave.
After some time of travelling I feel more secure in my self.
And when im in places like A, I turn on some kind of autopilot when I
walk the streets (dont waste my time to listen to anybody who I dont
want to talk to). Sounds strange doesn`t it?
goldchained filippino man:-Hello my friend!
me:-Bye,bye! or -Yeah! And just keep on walking.
Anyway I feel a little more secure in P than A, but only a little.

A taxi will charge you at least 300 pesos. A jeepney on a regular route is about 12.5 pesos but this only works if you don't have a lot of luggage. You can ask a jeepney for a "special" solo ride but don't pay more than 300. BTW, Some hotels have pickup service. Unfortunately, trikes are not allowed on Clark!

Hmm, I took the same flight and there were taxi booths on the right (asking me if I wanted a taxi) as you exit customs, also there were plenty of other taxi touts when you exit.

If you are a real wally you can get attacked from behind anywhere.
The only scam you are likely to encounter is you BF a girl for the whole night but she leaves early after 1 pop :)
Ac in my opinion is a great place to monger, and I follow a couple of rules:
In the bar. Always interview the girl thoroughly before barfine. Generally my approach is:
- I see a nice girl in the bar. First ask her if she barfines and whether on menstruation. If all is ok, then try to establish rapport and buy a LD if necessary. I see no reason to buy a LD if the girl is not available for boom boom, but that is my personal cheap charlie preference.
- Always check the bill every time you are served a drink (also some bars like blue nile have a dual price LD policy (girls will always order the 300 peso LD unless you intervene)
In the street.
- Do not talk to any Filipino men, period. Don't be rude, but say "sorry not interested" and move on.
- don't ever pick up a streetworker. Its just not worth the risk, Beware of the "can my friend come to your hotel" scam.
- Always keep one hand firmly on your wallet / mobile phone at all times (hands in pockets is my preferred mode of travel) including in trikes / jeepney, etc.
- Do not walk around the darker areas of AC alone at night. (This trip 2 bargirls told me they were robbed at knifepoint on perimeter road, another one said her farang neighbours apartment was robbed just off macarthur highway). Catch a trike, otherwise its just not worth the risk.
- Check your pockets before you re-enter your hotel. Scammers may plant drugs on you (a popular police set-up)
- Do not buy anything from the streets like cigarettes (could be scam where drugs are hidden in the packet. Police setup)
- Do not give money to anyone on the street (if this involves taking your wallet out in the open. Could be snatched from you anytime)
- Do not let any beggars / street kids hold your arm (there could be a filiipino with a camera taking a photo of you. Alleging child abuse. Police setup)
Above all, smile and have fun! The girls feed off your vibe and give better service when you are a happy punter.
This approach has served me well so far, anyone got any other tips for living the AC lifestyle?

As others have said, you should be able to get a taxi at the airport for around 300 pesos. If you already have a hotel booked, they probably have a pickup service from the airport for 300 pesos or so also and you can contact them to have someone pick you up. The 300 pesos is a ripoff, but that's AC transportation and you really aren't going to get a much better price on your own. The ride is only about 10 minutes or so.
