I'm thinking of visiting Cali in the beginning of 2015. I speak a B1-level Spanish, and I will have a month or so.
I've got a few questions (please, answer) and a few possibly wrong assumptions (please correct).

- Does it make sense to use dating sites to pre-arrange some encounters? Can you recommend any based on a personal successful experience?
- Does placing ads in the local papers work, or is it in the past in Colombia, too?
- What about semi-pros, and the ways to find them (or let them find you)? For instance, I guess banging your Spanish teacher can be quite fun, and you'll get your Subjuntivo right, too.
- I'm tall, physically fit, but still. My hair is gray and I do not need to show my passport to prove I'm in my late 40-s. I'm not particularly interested in women over 30. Does it make much sense to fish in the night clubs or a local supermarket (Chipichapi was the name, wasn't it?) for a less "mechanical" and more long-term experience? Or should I just stop being creative and to go to "casas" like people do?

Yes it is less touristic. Not that many tourists go there. I was told its mostly businessmen.
Costs are slightly lower than maybe Medellin or Bogota or Cartagena, but not that much.
Yes English is less spoken. You need an intermediate skill in Spanish.
Yes fewer gringos, you do stand out a little bit, but its not that great a novelty to the Calenas.
You meet a woman, a potential "semi-pro". After some smalltalk / ice-creams / cocktails / whatnot, you eventually reach the point when you want to get to the business, but you want to say it in formally-decent way. Here's the basic info about la20 provided by bayboy: la20 is open from 2 pm-10 pm. Drinks are 2, 500 for beers and mixed drinks and soft drinks are 2, 000. More exotic drinks are more expensive. But after what happened on this trip I will never set foot in Dr. Amor again, but I will continue to visit Cali.
