What's happened to the market in Sosua
It's suggested that this comment posted in answer to SubCmdr in the Santiago forum actually belongs in the Sosua section. It's hard to keep track of where he is posting his own "bovine excrement" these days, but no matter.

As for how it happens the market participants reach an agreement. That is called market equilibrium. How markets work has always been a personal interest of mine ever since I first saw the Wall Street Journal as a child.[ / QUOTE].
No shit. Sherlock!
Markets have been operating that way for ever, since the first hunter traded a mammoth leg for new spears, and the farmer traded 10 sheep for a virgin. They didn't need no WSJ. LOL.
But what happened to the market in Sosua is ls what is helping kill it for the casual monger.
Namely, The Internet.
Sosua was always there. I talk to guys that have been here for 20 years or more. But it was one of those places in the World the general public had never been aware of. It wasn't until the WWW that folks started discussing it online and promoting it. Like how he natives were friendly and had no hang up about sex. The were poor and would happily trade their bodies for trinkets, because it was legal, and they even seemed to enjoy sex! LOL.
The game was on!
Then came the Media outrage from the virtue signalers, pearl clutchers, and the do-gooders in the West, who described in detail how young beautiful women were lining up to welcome Western sex prisoners, and that made Sosua and other places more popular than ever with guys like me, who wanted to see this little puta paradise before I died!
With the resulting explosion of visitors, the infrastructure, airlines with daily flights, girl friendly hotels, restaurants, catering to it, it became commercialized, and the result was the inflation of demand vs supply. Now it's getting a little more like the West, not so in your face, sex by appointment, and consequently more expensive.
But it's a work in progress and we can enjoy it before it changes totally into my Toronto, which is now reduced to literally thousands of hole in the wall AMP's manned by aging fat Chines ladies, who don't even switch off their phones, while jerking you! Off! And high end escort services run by the gangs.
(Which is why I can't understand why some folks will go around the world to get their relief in AMP's.
But I digress!
I'm green, planning my first trip
To Sosua. I've been to many mongering destinations, including Germany and Thailand, and a few other scattered places, but I've never been to the Dominican Republic. So I have the following questions and yes, I've read several pages of the forum.
1. Flying in February, to POP airport. My understanding is you catch a taxi from there?
2. Do I need to bring cash or will my American ATM work?
3. Can anyone recommend a decent safe hotel close to the major mongering?
4. I'm the typical white guy gringo, I don't speak much Spanish. Will I do OK communicating?
5. Are there any apps like Thai friendly in Thailand to pickup girls?
6. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. I'll have about five days and it's on the ground and I want to do as much mongering as possible.
Esta Seguro? Different BEAST down there

From your past post you've been planning on making a trip down there since last year. Hesitant to pull the trigger. And I can't blame you. Its a different BEAST, a different animal down there. We like the back in the day Detroit Pistons of the NBA. We don't get all the glamour like the Lakers (thailand) and the Bulls (Brazil) but last I checked we still pop champagne, alongside with 2 honeys on our lap with a presidente beer lounging on a magnificent beach that you only see in movies and time life magazines. If you got your Jacques Couestau diving gear ready to go swimming with the lady sharks to find you a sweet mermaid thatll toe your curls and have you saying "Queieres casarte conmigo" 🤣, then hit me on a pm.
Have a great lead for you on a hotel accommodation where you can speak directly with the owner. Youll literally be right there in the middle of the main action (right on pedro clisante, 1 min walk to the beach, main grocery store) and hidden at the same time.
That Assessment was Brutal! Cold-Blooded like Rick James
The Dominican hookers are about as conniving as a NYC street hooker. They will give you an experience you will regret.
Damn that's cold Humblehal LOL. Colder then this 15 degree weather I'm enduring at the moment. He can have a good experience. Just got to watch the minefields and adapt quickly. Hes not in Kansas anymore that's for sure. Any ladies in a group wearing spandex run AWAY immediately. Don't go chasing waterfalls aka fake asses and aggressive chicas and stick to the rivers instead like a young chica walking by her self or an older 30-40 yr old chicas lounging in a expat bar. Take his time and flirt with a chica using google translate. Establish a price so theres no misunderstanding. If something doenst feel right even if she's agreeing to everything don't fight your instinct, drop her immediately. If she doesn't smell and feel right to the touch after she dropped them drawers, ABANDON SHIP EXPODIOUSLY. They still have old testament diseases down there (I. E. The 7-year itch) so strap up on these hoes.
Don't trust a big butt and a smile so LOCK UP your valuables. And for Gods sake do NOT put your valuables in the standard hotel safe. Everybody including the hotel staff will always go to the hotel safe as the 1st place to go to first for a possible come up. I'm tall so I hide my shit up in cabinets chicas can't reach. Use your imagination and and make your own safe stash that only you would know where to find your valuables.
He do that and I say 3 out of his first 5 females will be good experience. The 2 thall be bad and or shaky will be par for the course here in SU BUT it builds character. Shake off the loss, head to the beach with a bottle of Rum in your hand like your Capt Jack Sparrow, Thank the Almighty for NOT being stuck in shit weather and or seeing your 20 million dollar home being destroyed by fire and go find a hotter female with perkier tits and a softer backside thatll rock your world and make you forget about the 2 previous loss.
Welcome to the Carribean Madness.
Got to let that bad experience go. We've ALL taken a hit down there
Coolie High analogy between Sosua being the Detroit Pistons is spot on a once good thing that now sucks.
Currently at the time of this writing the lowly Detroit Pistons are now an 8th seed and would make the playoffs again. You got to eventually come back to the SU and make some good new memories so you can finally shake off that bad experience that happen to you in 2007. Forgive the timeline exaggeration but you get my point. Time to move forward. Staying in a negative past space about one place only leads to misery.
The tropical beach and the presidente is calling you so you might as well start planning a trip back to DR and get your mojo back down here. Because If it wasnt you wouldn't be writing about it.
