But the relevance in following the fallout from the Nataree raid is that it may portend a more widespread crackdown, which we have already seen the seeds of in two subsequent raids of soapies, albeit raids that did not yield arrests. Or then again it might not portend a more widespread crackdown but that is for each of us to assess based on reliable information.

Questions have been raised by some here as to whether it is now dangerous to even frequent soapies in Bangkok. There is no way of knowing this in any definitive way, but knowing as much as possible about what is going on (rather than brushing it aside) provides the opportunity to make one's own risk assessment.

A friend and I will be heading to Thailand shortly (Bangkok and Hua Hin), and whilst I've read a million posts on here and so I think I have a good feel of how it all works, I'd like to ask a few newbie questions if that's OK.

- Reading the posts, I think I like the idea of finding a nice FL rather than finding a girl in the bars. I get the impression the bar girls can be a bit pushy? Is that a fair assessment? Apologies for the rather mundane question. I know there are multitudes of "legit" massage parlors in the Sukumvit area, so I will ask for a few opinions. What roads or streets do you personally think offers the best selection of massage shops / ladies in Bangkok. Also if someone could recommend a more upscale massage location, one that has private rooms, etc. I realize that this may also mean that the service level may vary with a more "mainline" massage business.

Some even change depending on the time of day: more on the legit side during the day and more on the naughty side in the evening or night. During the day you see more elderly women, and the night shift has some more young looking crew. However, I estimate them all to be 30+, but for massage that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Keeping up with how the situation with Nat progresses, the raids on other soapies, etc, is in my opinion a very valid topic for this forum.
