Generally these types of honest girls do not ask for extra money. I would have tipped her if she was worth more than 800 and I know a lot of others would not.

It's actually a very common theme that many hookers are single mothers, and some have other extended family members to support. Also a common theme to meet part time hookers like this, at least it was many years ago, especially in the Thermae and Nana Carpark areas.

At Nataree, I got similar stories from several girls, so assumed there might be some truth to it. I speak Thai quite well, so conversation was not hard. I don't recall noticing that many girls spoke Thai badly though, like they might have come from Myanmar. There is a Tha-Yai girl from Burma that know very well for many years and she speaks Thai with strange pronunciation for some words, perhaps closer to northern Thai, but certainly weird tones, and some consonants changed. For those of you who don't know there is a standard pricing system for Freelancers in Bangkok.

After 18 years of living in Bkk, here are some of my insights. Just outside the Nana Hotel, where the parking lot is you will find younger Freelancers and lady boys. The younger Freelancers will be standing against the sign where it states Nana Hotel. These younger girls generally will ask anywhere from 1500 to 2500. Most will open the bid at 2000 and stand firm if they are young and cute. If the girl is not attractive of course she will be willing to settle for less. If you are old and unattractive, she will generally ask for more. But generally speaking most girls will be happy with 2,000 if they are young and attractive.

If it's late at night and they do not have any customers for that evening some of the younger and attractive girls are willing to settle for 1500. At 1 am or 2 am the bar girls also come out and become freelancers if they did not get a customer that evening in the bar.

As you walk further down Nana on the left and right hand side you will see women who are older. When I first started living here in Bangkok, these women would generally ask for 500 and you could negotiate them down to 300. Those days are long gone. However, the going price for these older Thai women are about 500 to 1000. Some old ones will go for 500. A lot of these women who are much older will settle for 500 and be happy with it. In Thailand, a Thai women who is 37 or older is considered old. I have seen Thai women in there 50s and 60s on soi Nana.

In my particular situation in my last post I stated that I paid her 800. That was her opening bid but she would have taken less. As in most Asian countries when you negotiate, the person selling the service always starts out at a higher price and expecting you to come down to a lower price. As noted in my previous post when she offered 800 and I took the offer without negotiating she was very happy. Therefore, my 800 payment was quite good.

It important to note that long Nana particularly in front of the Nana Hotel, the price of short time is simply ridiculous. However many guys over the years have taken the price the standard price 1,000 for young girls to 2000 or even 2500. I would caution anyone from paying these ridiculous outrageous prices. The only reason these girls ask for these silly prices because foreigners horny come here and throw money at these freelance girls. Bear in mind that for 2000 to 2500 you can have a very attractive lady from a massage parlor who's providing Full Service Plus a bath for up to 2 hours. So the idea of paying a freelancer the same price for one hour sex is silly.

Even though I like the freelancer I had, I will not spoil her for the next guy by throwing money at her and overpaying.

The Western misguided ideas about why the girls in Thailand come to work in Bangkok in the sex trade is still kicking and alive. When I first moved here to Bangkok more than 18 years ago, it was that these girls are forced into contracts and shipped to Bangkok from the countryside to work in the massage parlors.

Even today this is still talked about on this website. There is a simple reality why hundreds of thousands of Thailand girls come to Bangkok to work in the sex industry. It is simply money! A girl from the poor regions of Thailand can hope to make $150 - $200 a month working in a factory 6 days a week. Think about it, would you work in a factory if you get paid $150 to $200 a month working every day and you're only off day is Sunday and you are working 10 hours a day. Of course not.

These girls come to Bangkok because they can make more money in one week than they can make in one month if they stayed home in their own small fram city. Sure, from time to time there are people who sell their daughters or have contracts for the girl to work and pay off the contract. But I would venture to say this is probably less than 1/2 of 1% of the millons of girls working in the sex trade in Thailand. Consider the fact that many girls work in the sex trade are Freelancers. There's obviously no contract involved there. These girls simply get up go out to the street in the evening for the money. They're in business for themselves and there is tons of Freelancers in Thailand.

So whenever I see someone write on this on this website Thai girls are forced to work in the sex trade, I laughed to myself because I know that they have no clue of why women work in the sex trade in Thailand. They are simply repeating what they saw on a western news Outlet. The Western news outlets are famous for rehashing the reasons why these poor country girls are forced to work in the sex trade in Thailand. The Western news outlets pretend as if there is no sex for sale in their own Western Country. Therefore they have to constantly focus on Southeast Asia and the prostitution.

Regarding the topic of girls under 18 working in MP, they have always worked at massage parlors in Bangkok and other massage parlors throughout Thailand. This is no new news. What happened at the massage parlor recently was that they most likely failed to pay their monthly fee to the police and they were raided. Or they refused to pay in incrase fee.

Rich Thai men and government officials enjoy girls under 18 and that's why they're provided in the massage parlors. If you think these girls are provided for your pleasure, you do not understand Thailand culture. You will find these type of girls throughout Thailand and working and all sorts of massage parlors. And many customers of these massage parlors are well-to-do Thailand man, policeman, and politicians. So whenever you hear about a raids because the girl was under 18, itwas because they did not pay the increased monthly fee. Or, a western news Outlet wanted to make a story for themselves so they approach the Thai government with rumors of a massage parlor that had girls under 18.

Of course the government has to follow up on it or the news outlet from the Western Country will write something terrible about the Thailand government. So the Thai government will go through the charade of having a raid to satisfy the Western news media outlet.

If it was left up to the women working in the western news media, westerner men would be restricted from traveling outside your Western Country in search of sex with beautiful young Asian women in Thailand. The Western woman would require you to stay in your own country and put up with their BS and provide them with their alimony and child support on regular basis. You would be required to tell them they are beautiful even though they are gaining weight at an alarming rate and becoming the size of a battleship.

- LD's. Are they optional? IE if I have no intention of taking home the lady who's asking for a LD, am I obliged to buy one anyway?

My recent trip has left me with a smile on my face that has yet to disappear. Having played in Tijuana, US, Singapore, China, and Taiwan, you can say I am no newbie to this hobby of ours. This is how things unfolded for my personal adventure:

1) BJ Bars.

2) Beer Bars.

3) Gogo Bars.

4) Soapie.

5) Non-Pros.

It gets a bit complicated when you find a girl you are interested in and she turns up with a fugly friends and asks for drinks for both of them. Because once you let them get a foot in the door then there is no end. Before you know it you will have 4 ladies around you with 8 drinks on your table and stash of bills to pay up. Yes, you have to be polite but do not be a wimp. You are the customer and you call the shots. There are enough reports here about how to navigate these shark infested waters. Read and learn more.

Girls might ask for payment upfront. Take that as a red flag and move to the next girl / bar. DO NOT pay ahead of service. It leaves the girl with no incentive to perform. Tell the girl clearly that you will pay only AFTER the deed is done and if happy, you will tip well. Tip well means 100 be ST and 200 THB LT. You can even show her the money and tell her its on the table for her to pick up when she is done but do not give the money to the girl before services are provided. [/QUOTE]I recommend that you always treat the girls good, but never be a doormat. You are the customer thus you are in charge, just be nice about it. If you invite a Bar Girl to sit down with you, a LD is expected because you are taking her out of circulation. If you don't buy her a lady drink after inviting her over, your reputation will be shit and the girl will not stay very long at your table. But it is an entirely a different matter when a girl sits down next to you uninvited. In this scenario you are under no obligation to buy her a drink unless you find her attractive and want to keep things moving in the right direction with her. Uninvited girls get the message pretty quickly and will move on if you don't encourage them by buying them a drink. There is no foul, no harm done to either party here, just be polite.

Now many times when I meet an attractive Go Go girl for the first time, I just want to check her out and get to know her a little that 1st night. In this scenario I ALWAYS buy her a Tequila or two. Whether conscious or sub-conscious the pretty girls always know they look better next to older and uglier friends. For these girls the prettier ones don't want the competition from another hottie. If it's a light night at the bar and she is 1 of 12 and pretty her odds are way better than being in a group of 10 hotties of total 50 girls. Explains some why there are always a few hotties even at less popular bars, as % of successful marks they probably outdo the girls at their level most of the time.

I agree though buying drinks for the friends can come back to benefit you. Just two examples from my most recent trips. My usual girl can get jealous and even though it's ridiculous that we stop at her bar and then she gets upset when she spies looking a bit too hard at a girl on stage, the less attractive friend focuses my attention on my girl and after money attention is what these girls crave the most. The other way it can come back is that in another time she got pissed at me for something and was angry then the friend stops by who I had always bought a drink from and got me out my hole. I think it also helps establish the temporary trust you need with a girl your taking back to a hotel room to do nasty things with. If she has seen you be generous with a friend less likely to be concerned about money later on. The downside is of course she might make you out to be an easy mark. Always got to walk that line.

In my case (and I guess in yours as well) the girl knows she will be paid and tipped handsomely because the stage has been set previously in the bar where I picked her up. A least of couple of rounds of drinks, maybe 1 drink for the DUFF and 1 for the mamasan and then a small tip for the waitress. Then on the way back to the hotel, an offer to eat or pick up some grub, stop at a convenience store and allow the girl to pick any essentials, etc. There girls have seen enough to separate the good customers from the nasty ones. Yet, some get fooled once in a while. Occupational hazard. Sad.

As for the guys who refuse to pay and screw the girl over, I hope their balls get infested with maggots.
