emporio has been around for years. i am pretty sure it is even in rio for partiers. it used to have a good rock night.
i am puzzled why long term members haven't heard of it. in a place where clubs come and go with alarming speed it has been a mainstay for a long time.
take time out to read the paper on fridays if you want to find out whats happening in which club and if any new places have arrived.

I read through the first 10 pages on here but couldn't find any info on the higher end night clubs mostly just info about help which is closed. Could someone name some higher end night clubs like a cafe photo in SP? I'm staying in Rio in Barra da Tijuca for 2 days only.

circus to gill the void left by help: balcony and disco next to balcony, was it called dolce vida ??
lot of girls outside both places. this dolce vida is help nowadays, same gilrs (who are left). much much smaller but same kind of action.
balcony has too much crowd and everybody are uncomfortable, girls and customer, it is too hot, service is sometimes slow and toilets are like brasilian prison: many men in small room with temperature 60 degrees celcius.
this small disco upstairs is more comfortable, there is working airconditioning. better looking girls go there.

you can just stay outside of both places and talk to the girls there, and drink beer there, like many men seems to do.

circus is good word for it, big circus.

Well, THAT'S true enough. But quite honestly I don't think most mongers have the patience for it. Traditionally there have been very few GDP who frequent Emporio. But that may have changed with the demise of HELP. The other time (yes, there were only two) I took a girl (non-GDP) home from Emporio, she asked me to leave first and that she would meet me in the hotel lobby in ten minutes because she did not want to be seen leaving Emporio with a gringo because of what rumors might spread about her.
The surprising thing was that she ACTUALLY showed up!

The above site has a list of independents but not low priced usually but if you scroll down the page you will come to some advertisements of other escort agencies, one such agency StarCris I see advertised as 100 reais but I’m not sure if that is for 2 hours or not but for sure they are competitively priced as well as CIA to Karla models.

I have never used Karla models but have used CIA and StarCris on numerous occasions, the catch usually is that although the girls are young and have good attitudes and provide good service they usually don't resemble runway models. everybody has their parameters. i am not usually up for an all night adventure so don't really work at it that hard. if i am going to put some effort and time into it, i direct that to the music scene which is more interesting to me.

as far as garotas, i prefer to have a great time in a terma with the option of getting out early. the thrill of the hunt is outweighed by a good sleep.

another reason for married guys to leave this alone is what do you do if you actually catch one? muito complicado.

in fact if you live in rio for a while, you will probably have a lot of opportunities from the women in your social network. brasileiras, like their male counterparts, do a lot of fu@king around.

as far as emporio, i have only been around there for dinner so was unaware of the late night crowd. maybe i'll check it out.

Look at the Hotside site, some of the independents say if they speak English or not.

Anyway why do you need someone to speak English? Just state the name of the girl and your address and tell her to come now (agora).

Mongers-

Emporio is the bar that "everybody" goes to essentially when there is no other place to go, as it is open 7 days a week until about 5am. It is a hot, dirty, overcrowded place, similar in some ways to the bar I myself own in Buenos Aires. The men's bathroom at Emporio is guaranteed to have at least an inch of [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140][CodeWord140][/url] on the floor at all times. The best bet is to get a table on the covered porch in front of one of the high powered fans in order to be reasonably comfortable. The waitress service out there is fast and you can keep the chopp coming as fast as you can drink 'em (and they are cheap).

As for the types of female customers who frequent the place; I have seen everything from Centaurus girls (funny story, girls I saw earlier in the day, didn't bang in Centaurus, then pulled out of Emporio at 5am for R$ 100), part-time pro Help girls, plenty of Brasilian and foreign non-pros, and a few MILF's here and there. As a result of it being the last bar in Ipanema to close, there is truly a mix of everybody in this place.

If by high end , you mean obscene amount of money for average service with lots of restrictions, then Barbarella is the place to visit in Rio. It is located in Copa, at the intersection of Princessa Isabel. Any taxi would know the place.

Another place to shun is Terma Centaurus.

Hint: More $$$$ does not correlate with better service in Brazil.
