I finally arrived in SD about 2 hours late and tried to check into the Hotel Riazor. They told me that there was a mistake with my reservations and I would not be able to check in until the next day at 12 noon. They said I can stay at the La Casona Dorada which in right douwn the street.
Fine, being that it was 6:30am I didn't want to complian, I just wanted to shower and sleep for bit. I asked if they had an hourly rate I was denied. I paid $50.00 for 5 hours? C,mon, give me a break!!!
I paid the hotel with 4-500 pesos totaling 2000 pesos, and the desk clerk hesitated to give back my 300 pesos in change. I asked him for it and he said "that will be enough". Finally after telling him 3 times I wanted my change back, he gave in. I was show to my room #240 and I tipped $2.00 to the man for bringing my bags.
The room was fairly small and the a/c was nice and cold. There was ZERO hot water for my shower, so I took a cold one. 30 minutes after being in my room the electricity went out 2 times. Luckly the electricity was restored before it became a sauna in my room.
A few hours after I past out there was major construction going on right below my room. Guys hammering away at what sounded like the interior walls beneath me. So, no sleep at all in the past 28 hours.
It started pouring rain early this morning for a few minutes. This didn't bother at all but the leak in the bathroom roof was a bit dissapointing. I packed up, checked out, and took a 5 dollar cab ride to the Riazor. 5 dollars to drive 2 minutes?!? The cab didn't budge on the price so I paid it and checked in to the Riazor.
Feeling 10 times better being at this beautiful hotel I have un packed and will be heading out.

I hit up Monolos for some lunch and a beer, then went to the clomado on Calle Casimiro de Moya for some booze and snacks. I came back to my room for a few drinks and ventured out to Girls House. So I came back to the "Hotel Riazor"for a quick drink and hit up Jaragua Casino to win 1700 pesos on roulette. Its about 12:30 am and I wanted to hook up with a chica. I walked a bit on Ave Independecia to check out the trim and a fellow named Raffiel sold me on a chica name Rosie for 1700 pesos for 2 hours in my room.
Here's where it gets wild: Rosies doesn't drink and was very pastionate about pleasing me. Lots of kissing, running, and massaging each other. I burned through 3 condoms (one snapped) and had a great time with her.
The session went a little longer then expected and Rosie had asked for more money. WTF?!? I said. I told her "we had agreed on 1500 pesos for you and 200 pesos for Raffie'". She would not budge until I told her that I will meet her manana(BS). Rosie smiled and went on her way.
All in all Rosie was a nice chica, but I'm a bit worried about the broken comdom. Tomorrow is another day and I can't wait to get back on the streets for some action.
I met a taxi driver that would give me a SD tour for 20 buck an hour. I just might do that.
If there's any of you guys here I would like to say what's up and buy you a beer for all the advice that was given. You can't miss me, im probally the youngest looking guy (not to brag)walking the streets for excitment.

Watnow you are NOT off to a bad start, you are in rep dom. Riazor or any hotel not having a room available at that time is no surprise. If someone showed up at the hotel before you with cash in hand they will rent your room. When you book in advance without paying the first night with a cc this is the chance you take.
La Casana Dorada didn't beat you on the rate. This hotel, like many, don't rent short term. Mystik and Navarro rent short term but you had just arrived and was probably tired so don't sweat the extra cost. The electricity went out twice while you were at La Casana Dorada? No biggie cause sometimes the electricity goes out ten times a day. This is rep dom. I posted a short while ago construction is going on at La Casana Dorada and construction is also going on at Jaguar Hotel at the moment. So beware.

When you walk out of Riazor turn right and on the first corner are usually three guys who drive taxis. All three of these guys are good drivers and will treat you well. Become friends with them and use them for your transpo needs.
Enjoy your trip and keep us posted. Panman and Boricua should also be at Riazor. Boricua is a walking book of knowledge so try to hook up with him.

You should have immediately gone to a cabana. For a five hour stay, you would have been more comfortable and paid much less, including taxi fare. Also, and this only my opinion for what it's worth, it's best to avoid paying for ANYTHING in advance.

Boricua Online and I went out most of Friday and we had fun. I been driving around everywhere and haven't had any issues, except that my rental car's interior lighting doesn't work.
My Claro piece of crap cell phone I had bought in Sosua in November was still active when I got here, so Watnow, my number is 809-742-3867, if I dont answer just send a text.
Things I do not like about Hotel Riazor: No Wifi inside rooms, you have to bring your laptop to the lobby, which sometimes is full of people sitting around. Avenida Independencia is very noisy during the weekdays, I am in the fourth floor and I have trouble staying asleep in the mornings, bring foam earplugs. Laundry service is expensive, like 100 pesos per item (shirt or pants) to wash and press, I will ask my Dominican taxi driver friend to recommend me a place. I feel the hotel price could be lower, I didn't see anything extravagant about the place.
Things I liked about Riazor: Parking lot with security guard. Free breakfast at Manolos, and my chica that slept with me Thursday night didn't get charged for breakfast as well. Girl friendly, though I feel hesitant to bring SW in here, Boricua Online tells me to have no shame. Nice strong bed, strong AC, and hot water anytime.

Make a right at Manolos restaurant and Jaguar is halfway between the first and second block on the right hand side of the street. You should also check out Hotel Venezia on Independencia down by the gas station at the fork in the road. Both hotels have fast in room free WiFi, A/C, frig, and most important quiet. (Jaguar has some construction going on now)
Jaguar $50US a night and Venezia 1500 pesos. Both hotels are multiple chica friendly with no extra charge. Panman since you always have a vehicle you might also want to check out Carey House Hotel.

It really wasn't to bad of a start being that I have been in worse situations. I guess I venting a bit do to no sleep and very food in my system. I'm now having breakfast at Monalos to work off the hangover.
DM is a great place and I have had no problems walking around in the day or night time. I will be taking a taxi to drive me around for an hour or so and do some site seeing. Thanks Boricua for the number I'll wil text you in a while.
