I am reading the latest posts and I am worried. I am planning my first visit after covid period in October. All of you are talking about the beer bars, GC, Go-Go's. What is the situation in discotheques, Insomnia, Marine Disco?
There are no bar fines. What are the prices compared to the pre-covid period?

The 3 day rule is well known: if you barfine a lady for 3 days, her performance drops off sharply, so that by day 3, you are happy to see you go.
The same is true if you repeat with the same lady, even if its over months. The ladies are lazy, and if they go with you many times, their performance goes downhill. I guess that's not the case if you come to Pattaya infrequently, but if you see a lady once a month or so, you will notice the decline.

I'm at a stage in my life where I can afford to splash out when traveling. Once I make the long journey to Pattaya and settle in for several weeks, I'm not really price sensitive. If I can find a hot girl who's willing to go back to my condo for a couple hours, I'm happy to pay whatever the market will bear. Plus probably a little something "for the taxi."
But these days the search seems to have gotten an order of magnitude more challenging. There are fewer girls in town, and hotties have always been in the minority. That trend may reverse if the upcoming high season goes well and word filters back to the village that there is money to be made. More worrisome, I think, is that there are now OTHER ways for the girls to make money. Stupid sponsors; web camera sites; and hustling drinks to name just three. It seems to me that the average to below-average girls can probably make ALMOST as much from those "boom boom free" pursuits as they did going with men. Maybe they take a small pay cut. But they'll make that trade. Call it the Pattaya version of "quiet quitting."
So currently we have a smaller pool of girls to choose from. If they were "out and about," the old Pattaya business model might still work. I'd have to search harder and pay more. But I could deal. Unfortunately some of them have moved online. Fine for ex-pats and/or Thai speakers. But for the guy on holiday, it's a challenge. Even if he finds a girl he fancies in the flesh in a local establishment, there is a non-negligible possibility she's only there to hustle drinks. (I read with great dismay the stories about this happening on Soi Six. YGBSM!)
Mr. Roberts has some sharp words about the scene in Pattaya that does NOT revolve around P4P. I take his point about the lager louts you see day drinking all over town. But as I've written before, Pattaya's laid back beach vibe appeals to me. You don't have to spend all day blasted to enjoy sitting in a comfortable bar sipping something soft while watching the world go by. You can hang at the coffee shops, or explore the cheap food options stone cold sober. Heck, you might even get a little exercise or take a side trip.
But here's the rub of it: There are an infinite number of little beach towns. Pattaya's magic "plus factor" has always been the P4P scene. Right now that scene is arguably so lousy that the "plus factor" is very small. Will things gets better? I'm pessimistic. Thailand is now a relatively affluent country. The birth rate has been falling for years. The current regime is hostile to naughty boy tourism. Different business models allow girls to make money outside the bedroom. Meanwhile the Boomer Boys are aging fast. Neoliberal economic policies in North America and the Eurozone have depleted their disposable income. Who's going to replace them? Our brothers from the subcontinent? Working class Chinese dudes? *Maybe* our friends in Northeast Asia. But are there enough of them to reverse the trend?
OK, that's enough pontificating. I've got to get back to work on that side hustle project I've got up on the other screen. It pays pretty well, but I'm not sure I'll spend any of that money in the LOS.

[/QUOTE]I've never heard of the 3-day rule being interpreted that way, but it makes sense. Typically, I understood the 3-day rule to mean that it is a way to help prevent a customer from falling head over heels in love with a bargirl, by cutting it off at 3 days instead of extending it.
But it is true, the more time you spend with a lady, the service goes down a lot. Their true lazy nature comes out and they do the bare minimum.

I'd say 80-90% of bargirls have tattoos, far higher percentage wise than any other demographic in the world. With the focus on Short Time point, click and run these both seem to be disappearing. Girls don't want to hang around all night. Costs prohibit grabbing a group and partying on. Clock watchers aren't conductive to having a fun night spread across numerous places.
For morning fun, all nighters are rare and priced at a premium. Online options rarely get out of bed before lunchtime.
Yes pretty girls are available but the market is definitely moving towards a more mechanical and fast pace encounter.

We saw about 9 girls dancing that were either on ThaiFriendly or Fiwfans during COVID when entertainment venues were shut. We called a few of them down for drinks and some reminiscing chit chat. We have their LINES still and both still get these girls for 1500-2000ST on their days off, before work, or after work. Not the 5000 (barfine, ST, and drinks) price. What say you now?
On another note there are absolutely drink only hustlers there at Pin UP. Pay attention to whom. Never call them from the stage. Wait until they get off and sit. Then approach. Totally agree that by date 3 or a 3rd session in a G club service is way downhill for the vast majority of girls. (no one hacked my account and posted this).
Arrived BKK after 29 hours + travel around 2100 45 minutes early, breezed through customs. A bit annoyed that my ride via Nams lady taxi wasn't watching my flight and ended up waiting 45 minutes in arrivals, but over all the service was good, booked the L sedan nice big sedan for the 1. 5 HR trip.
Arrived at the Holiday Inn Express, I think its a fantastic brand new hotel for the price, extremely clean good location good breakfast. There is a good money exchange across the road (I always use to pull out from the ATM but I did the math and it's better to exchange cash, much better rate then my bank but may vary depending on your bank, I only exchange what I need for the day) , in house laundry machines. If your walk to the left as you leave the hotel and walk to the first major intersection there are two great carts that does really good espresso and coffee as well as fresh fruit smoothies. Both for under 100 Baht. Then same direction you have Mamas Burgers which she makes the meanest burgers, hot dogs etc and very reasonable prices. Popular with all the expats, only open at night so great post bar 2 am snack.
Also Nemo massage is a 2 minute walk, very good legit massage place.

Never been to Pattaya before so this is my take of course everyones interests will vary.
Got checked in and the HIE around midnight, walked to Soi Pothole was hoping to hit up Maggie Mays for a quick ST then explore a bit more but was closed already by the time I got there. Few other bars on the street I had done some research on didn't have any lookers. Walked around a bit to get a lay of the land, LK Metro & Tree Town. Was busy, since I wasn't here before Covid I can't compare numbers of customers vs ladies etc but my initial impression is alot of ladies that are past their prime and younger non lookers.
By 2 am got a bit frustrated couldn't find anything I like. Ended up sitting down for a drink I think at a place called Excite (Beer Bar) right as your turn left onto LK Metro Soi Buakaho its on the corner right side. Found a cute little Issan girl, which seems like the majority of ladies are. Forgot her name but she has two cheek piercings. She seemed the kinky type, she said BF was 1000 which seemed steep and the fact the bar was closing seemed dump. I was tired and didn't feel like arguing and paid the BF, off we went. LT 1500 baht, she wanted more I wasn't going to have it.

I have 4 different views at the moment, so I am still trying to decide where my head is at with things.
1 - Given how average looking the women are in the P4P scene in Pattaya right now, I am spending more time chasing down freelancers and girls on dating sites anyway. I am not sure what the point of being in Pattaya actually is, because I could be doing the same in places like Samui or Krabi and spend my days in a far nicer part of the country. Granted I won't have access to this many freelancers, but I have been here enough to know that line is blurred anyway.
2 - Spend more time in BKK. Its not so much cost in Pattaya as the quality being poor, and at least in BKK the options are better at a slightly higher price. BKK has always been great for a few days, but I don't know if I could spend a month there given I can work remotely. The great thing is that the massage shops, oilies, soapies and escort scene is MUCH better quality wise, for maybe a 20% increase in price. If its predominantly sex, then BKK is a better bet if you are not one to sit in a bar all day.
3 - Accept that this is what Pattaya is for a while. Maybe it gets better, but I suspect that with all the sponsors and simps all over the world that live in our home countries where an endless war is being waged against men, there is a never ending pipeline for these girls to supplement their income. I think the smartphone and internet has done more damage than anything else. One girl I repeat with has an OnlyFans page, and she says she has cut back on fucking for money because that is slowly growing. She has over 100 people paying her 9 bucks a month and gets tips and extras for custom videos, photos and msgs. That does not sound like much, but 40 k baht a month just from Onlyfans puts her at three times what a factory worker makes. So she has pushed her ST and LT rates up, is picky about who she fucks now and she sticks to regulars she likes or better looking younger guys she is attracted to. This is a girl who would have been working a pole 15 years ago, but she is simply not in the scene and she does her own thing. I don't begrudge the girls for doing this at all either, but it does mean that Pattaya and the industry is changing and what it has to offer is changing a lot too. I think expectations need an adjustment. I also think that maybe there are just waaaaay too many venues in Pattaya, and that has spread everything so thin that competition for girls has outstripped supply by a good margin.
4 - Head to a different part of Asia that is not Thailand or Philippines right now. I work remotely so need to be in this time zone, otherwise I would be in Latin America. I'm considering popping over to Vietnam, although I believe its tricky there too right now. Jakarta is shit I might as well go to Manila, which leaves Bali in Indonesia but that is also suffering with a post covid hangover.
