Personally I wouldn't travel to Germany if I spoke no German but that is just me. I am probably more risk averse than the average person.
But I do speak it and have gone for years even before discovering these clubs.
Yes, monolingualists get around but I cannot imagine how they do it. All I can say is that if the language thing doesn't faze you, you are a far better man than I.
Having said this, I avoid women I don't understand. It makes a huge difference to me to be able to communicate with her.
You are best off at an FKK club. You can evaluate the selection much better than relying on webpages or descriptions on the phone. While I wholeheartedly agree with Jackyo that decent German skills pay big dividends when FKKing, I also believe that you can get by just fine with good ole' fashioned English. In fact, you may HAVE to use English if you fancy a nice Romanian or Bulgarian girl who recently got off the bus and has yet to crack open her Duden, Pons or Langenscheidts. There are a number of very good providers in the big clubs who speak little to no German. In addition most of the German gals I know who work in FKKs have decent English. It has been my experience that the Russians, Polish, Letts and Lats do pretty well with German and not so well with English.
Having some German chops might keep you from falling victim to greedy gal's scam, but I run with a number of experienced FKKers who have little to no Deutsch and still do quite well in the clubs.
As to GFE and all that jazz; your best bet is to arm yourself with a few names from reports on this (and other) boards. Even that is no guarantee. A man's gotta be a good judge of character.
I could give you a list of names that provide good GFE for me, but your experience might be different, and my tastes and yours might not be in alignment. Plus there's no certainty that my GFE favs will be working when you go.

Some of the board's senior members are quite vocal in their opinions (as well as repeated use of the same German words to demonstrate their knowledge). Plenty of people get around just fine in Germany with no German. Many other people travel to mongering countries with no knowledge of the local language and do just fine. Thailand, China and Brazil come to mind. Sure the experience will be richer if you speak the local language, but I've heard of very few men who having visited Thailand wished they hadn't gone because the don't speak Thai. Granted Germany is an industrialized 1st world country, but take what the German crusaders say with a grain of salt. Germany is much easier to handle as a non-German speaker than Thailand, China or Japan are wthout knowledge of the local languages.
I've had few great sessions over the years in Germany where I and the lady spoke no common language. Patience and a good attitude is required for these situations. And some linguistic inventiveness (willingness to try your hand at pidgin communications).
If you willing to drop the AO expectation, the Hessen big 3 FKKs are what you seek, just choose wisely the women you session with. I personally can't image bringing AO upwith a woman at an FKK.
